COLOSSEUM & SPONSOR GEM & TOLZAR ADS
On 15 December 2022, Deca Games introduced a new feature called Offerwall to Tolzar’s Optical Oracle in DV update 4.27.3. As a result, it brought about some old ad issues and created some new ones. So, I’ve rewritten this post.
Watch Vision button is not showing at Tolzar’s Optical Oracle, only Offerwall is available
There are two reasons why adverts are not showing:
1. You opened the game and the ad hasn’t had a chance to load
2. Your game session is too long so the ad will no longer load
If the Oracle does not have the option to watch ads and the Treasure section of the Market is not displaying 'Sponsor Gems', then the ads have not loaded or will no longer load.
To get the ads to load, force close the game, wait a minute (if you open too quickly the game won’t have time to fully close), then reopen. Once you’re in the game, wait for the Oracle to appear and for the Vision button to display (depending on your device’s processor and the size of your park, determines how long you’ll have to wait).
If your game session is too long, there won’t be enough memory for the ads to play, so try to watch the adverts shortly after opening the game. This has been the case for many years with those who have 2GB RAM devices, but it now appears 4-8GB devices can also experience this issue, so all players should be aware.
IMPORTANT TIP: Before completing the Colosseum, make sure Sponsor Gems is showing in the Market. The Oracle used to be a reliable indicator, but now that it’s attached to Offerwall, it will frequently show with the Offerwall option, but the ads, which are slower to load, are not ready. This means, you should probably refrain from watching the Sponsor Gems advert until you’ve completed the Colosseum, so you have an ad indicator.
Previous instructions
I’ve been testing the disappearance and crashing of ads at the Colosseum, Market (Sponsor Gem), and Tolzar’s Optical Oracle for several weeks with an iPhone 8 (2GB RAM) in low resolution mode and an iPad Pro (6GB RAM). Here are the conclusions I’ve come to.
SPONSOR GEM (MARKET AD)
The Sponsor Gem will appear at the same time the Oracle appears, but you’ll still need to wait 30-60 seconds so it’s ready to play. Similar to the Colosseum, if you receive the 'Oops!' message, you will not receive a second chance to watch the ad.
COLOSSEUM
There are two reasons why the Colosseum and Sponsor Gem ads are not offered:
1. The ad is not ready, so the 'Oops!' message displays
If Tolzar’s Optical Oracle is visible in your park, it is a good indication the Colosseum ad is almost ready. Therefore, do not watch all the Oracle ads (because the Oracle will disappear) until you’ve completed the Colosseum.
Due to more recent lags in the game, after the Oracle appears, you will still need to wait 30-60 seconds before completing the Colosseum, or the Colosseum ad may not play.
2. You’ve been in the game for too long before collecting from the Colosseum
If you play DV for more than a couple minutes, it’ll eat up all the memory so there won’t be enough to run the Colosseum ad ('Oops!' message) or the ad will crash when played.
To avoid the two above pitfalls, and ensure the ad plays, when the Colosseum is ready, follow these steps:
a) Force close the game, wait a minute, reopen (this will ensure you have a fresh session and enough memory).
b) Wait for Tolzar’s Optical Oracle to appear in a puff of blue pixie dust (could take a minute or two). Do not engage in other game activities like moving around your park, collecting from habitats, clicking on buttons, etc (this will drain your device’s memory).
c) After the Oracle appears, wait 30-60 seconds.
d) Complete the Colosseum.
e) If the ad does not show, or you receive the 'Oops!' message, increase your wait time by 30 seconds.
I have taken the above steps for the last 14 days and the Colosseum ad has successfully played for extra gems and DC on a 2GB iPhone 8 (in low resolution mode) and a 6GB iPad Pro.
Note: if you’re on a device with 2GB RAM or less, and DV constantly crashes when you’re trying to watch the Colosseum ad (or any ad), the only solution is to switch to low resolution mode. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, unfortunately, you’ll need to upgrade your device.
IMPORTANT: If you click on Tolzar’s Optical Oracle or the Colosseum and select the Maybe Later button instead of watching the ad, none of the ads in the game will play until you force close and restart the game.

NEW CHANGES
1. The 'Tolzar Turned the Wrong Dial! Oops!' pop-up message does not always display. Frequently, the Colosseum ad is simply not offered.
2. As my park has grown, it now takes longer for Tolzar’s Optical Oracle to appear. On an iPad Pro (6GB RAM) it now takes over a minute and about 1.5 minutes on an iPhone 8 (2GB RAM).
3. The larger your park, the shorter your game session is allowed before the Colosseum ad isn’t offered or crashes.

UPDATE
iOS 14 removed the advertising ID. The ad identifier can no longer be reset. You can only turn off Personalised Ads.

UPDATES AND MAJOR EDITS
1. Updated and added more wait times before watching ads, since extra time is now required with the game and parks growing.
2. Removed the first section of the post regarding the Sponsor Gem and resetting the Advertising Identifier, as it’s no longer relevant to the ad issues.

The most recent DV update (version 4.26.0) addresses the issue of ads loading slowly. If you’re still having problems with ads playing and you’re using a device with 4GB RAM or more, please contact Deca Games. If you have less than 4GB RAM, you may need to upgrade your device.
