6. Design details: 3/5 - I feel like the head is disproportionately small compared to its neck, and its legs are so thin I feel like they could snap easily. I suppose its other decorative patterns and ornaments are nice, but they don't really fit with its relatively smaller size, as they are harder to see from afar.

7. Breeding combo (PETUNIA + air + light): 3/5 - Nice that it isn't absurdly difficult unlike other event dragons in the past, but the Petunia dragon feels arbitrary and not very thematically related to Astraline at all.

I was excited when I saw Astraline at first. Finally a dream element dragon in an event called Sweet Dreams! But the actual dragon is just okay. Not too bad, not too good, just okay. It looks beautiful in static artwork up-close, but in-game there's something lacking. I personally think it doesn't fit the DragonVale style that well. The adult is too detailed for its size and its proportions are too thin, almost like a real-life horse, unlike DragonVale's slightly more cartoony style. Its animations are fun though.

1. Animation: 5, feels nice and floaty (fittingly so), isn't stiff, and need i even MENTION the flip (more like tumble) animation it does while flying? Absolutely glorious.

2. Rift trait: 4, nothing to complain about

4. Price (13,000 Roses): 3, was a little expensive but i'm glad they listened to the community by not making its price higher than cupido's frankly absurd price (EVEN IF THEY WOULD MAKE MESMER 17000 IMMEDIATELY AFTER)

6. Design details: 5, detailed, but not too cluttered. nice and elegant

1. Animation - 3/5 - some animation but not very interesting, bit awkward

5. How well does Astraline fit the theme - 3/5 - storyline did not tie in well w/design or animation or tell us much about the dragon at all… what traits make this dragon a dream dragon, we never find out 


6. Design details -3/5 - is a very pretty dragon, beautiful lavender colors make it stand out. Like the wings & tail. But the basic outline/body of the horse is too similar to Grace and Masque. Added different wings & head shape etc but body shape reminds me of the other two. Bio/storyline could have said they come from the same kingdom/planet to explain it. Otherwise it looks like a lazy design & not original enough to please me.

8. How much do you like Astraline? - 3/5 - pretty dragon, beautiful colors. Animation not very exciting/original/different.  And seems too reminiscent of other dragons we have (masque, grace) as if they ran out of time and/or ideas on this one.


9. Comments / feedback for Deca (optional) Feel like this one is not unique or special enough. Body design/shape too much like grace and masque. Reminds me of the sloppy/look-alike dragons we see in the dragon story game. All looking too similar because they are bringing out too many too fast. Dragonvale is not like that. Egg is pretty but a bit like the glitz egg.

The name, Astraline, fits the theme, as stars and night are associated with dreams. But the dragon design itself doesn’t really fit the name Astraline or the event theme.

I don’t understand why Petunia is a parent. There should be a star or astronomy connection to Astraline. Astraline would’ve been a perfect name for a Galaxy dragon with a story about Noel dePlante, DragonVale’s astronomer, watching over him.

After Chromacorn, it seemed inevitably that the Vale would have a Pegasus dragon.

I really like the baby version. But the adult seems paper-thin and delicately breakable. I remember collecting small glass animals as a child, and the long-legged animals like a horse were very fragile. I haven’t thought about that in ages, but Astraline brought the memory back home.
