Complete the Dragonarium
Gems are awarded as dragons are collected.

5 unique dragons - 2 gems
10 unique dragons - 5 gems
25 unique dragons - 10 gems
50 unique dragons - 15 gems
75 unique dragons - 20 gems
100 unique dragons - 23 gems
150 unique dragons - 26 gems
200 unique dragons - 29 gems
250 unique dragons - 32 gems
300 unique dragons - 35 gems
350 unique dragons - 38 gems
400 unique dragons - 41 gems
450 unique dragons - 44 gems
500 unique dragons - 47 gems
550 unique dragons - 50 gems
600 unique dragons - 53 gems
650 unique dragons - 56 gems
700 unique dragons - 59 gems

By the time players collect 700 dragons, they will have received 585 gems.


Make friends

It is possible to exchange gems every day with three friends. If the Dragonsai Gifting Tree and Dragonsai Bush are also owned it is possible to exchange 7 gems daily. Dragonvale Buildings How to Add Friends 


Have dragons participate in the Colosseum

At the end of 23 hours it is possible to have two chests offered. These will occasionally contain gems. The Colosseum


Log in everyday

The Daily Reward will also offer gems on Day 6, 15, 20, 35, 45, 65, 75, and 95. List of Daily Rewards


Watch ‘visions’ (ads)

There is a daily ad to watch in the Market to earn a gem. Tolzar will also give a gem for watching a ‘vision’. There are a maximum of 3 Tolzar ‘visions’ that can be watched in a day. During an event, Tolzar’s visions give event currency.


Breed gemstone and crystalline dragons

There are always three gem producing dragons that are available to be bred at any time. There is a monthly gemstone and a monthly crystalline dragon as well as a gemstone dragon that is available for several months. Encyclopaedia Dracontine


Race dragons at the Dragon Track

Dragon Track will give chests for a successful race and the chests occasionally contain gems. How to Win at the Race Track


Participate in Kairos and Gaia quests

For a successful quest, two chests will be offered. These will occasionally contain gems. Legendary Dragons


Flag bearers

Once elder dragons are owned a flag bearer will visit the park daily. They usually give 100,000 DragonCash but can occasionally give 1 gem.


Tiamat and Bahamut

Once both Tiamat and Bahamut are owned, Elminster will visit the park daily. He will usually give 100,000 DragonCash but can occasionally give 1 gem. Tiamat and Bahamut

BEST ITEMS TO SPEND GEMS ON


Many players ask what they should spend their hard earned gems on. This is a recommended list of items. It is a subjective list and a player may decide that they would prefer to spend their gems in a different order or on different items.


Upgrade the Nursery

The nursery starts with only one nest. It is possible to upgrade the nursery using gems to give extra nests.

• 10 gems - Upgrade 1 – increase nests to 2

• 25 gems - Upgrade 2 – increase nests to 3

• 50 gems - Upgrade 3 – increase nests to 4

Epic Breeding Island

• 125 gems  This is available at Level 13 and offers another breeding spot.

MaGoody’s Magical Greenhouses

• 35 gems - These grow treats which can be harvested every 23 hours. The amount of treats given depends on the park level. Buildings

Upgrade the Breeding Cave to the Enchanted Breeding Cave

• 175 gems -  This will reduce the breeding time by 20%. It does not affect the incubation time on the nest.

Upgrade the Epic Breeding Island to the Epic Breeding Sanctuary

• 225 gems - This will reduce the breeding time by 20%. It does not affect the incubation time on the nest.

Note. The Breeding Cave and Epic Breeding Island can only be upgraded when there are no dragons breeding in them.


Dragonsai Gifting Tree

• 100 gems –  This allows another 3 gems to be exchanged with 3 different friends. Buildings

Dragonsai Bush

• 40 Gems – This allows another 1 gem to be exchanged with 1 more friend. Buildings

Gemstone Islands

Gemstone Islands can be upgraded to hold an extra two dragons. Only upgrade when needed to place a dragon.

• 25 gems – first upgrade

• 50 gems – second upgrade

Crystalline Habitats

• 125 gems each – Second, third and fourth crystalline habitat. The first crystalline habitat can be purchased with DragonCash, subsequent ones cost gems. Only purchase when the first one is full and there is a fifth Crystalline dragon needing a home.

Tip. Try not to use gems to speed up breeding.
