For those who are new to Rate a Dragon, Deca Games has developed a series of questions to gather feedback from players regarding their new event dragons. To capture an accurate account of players’ assessments, Rate a Dragon threads are created for each new dragon. These threads will be available approximately one to four weeks after a dragon’s release to allow players some time to breed the dragon and admire its fine qualities.
The Rate a Dragon threads will remain unlocked until the event concludes on July 27th. At the end of the event, your ratings and comments will be passed on to Deca.
Please take a minute to rate the Pirates in Paradise II dragons from 1-5 for each category. You can either post your ratings and comments on this thread or message me. Thank you for participating, sharing your thoughts, and making this game even better with each dragon.

SPINKY DRAGON
1. Animation - 4/5 - thought it was great but would have liked a squirt of ink/darkness to go along with when he is frightening a predator.
2. Size - 3/5 - way out of scale! Much too big. I have him in 2 different habitats with lots of different dragons and he is humongous wherever he is.
3. Price - 3/5 - always too much for me
4. How well does Spinky fit the theme - 5/5 - Fabulous! Great addition to the game & fits the event perfectly.
5. Design details - 5/5 - going to give 5/5 even though he is way too big. He is gorgeous and fun and has lovely colors too. Love him! Always makes me smile 😆

Comments / feedback for Deca: I like chonky dragons, so I find Spinky's bloated size hilarious and adorable. As a nitpick, I find its cold element odd and unfitting - something like water/metal (representing the sharpness of pufferfish spines) would've been more fitting, and also would give more love to the neglected metal element.
4. How well does Spinky fit the theme: 3/5, but then again, why not? Paradise is full of adorable, extremely venomous reef fish.
5. Design details: 2.5/5. Its shading feels odd, and so does the shadow. Would look better with a less defined body shape. It could do without the brown scales, and I think the paws are overdoing it? Its big, watery eyes are too detailed, I feel.
6. How would you rate Spinky’s breeding combo (SAILBACK + AQUACORN): 3/5. Thank goodness for aquacorn!
7. How much do you like Spinky? 2.5/5. Its base design is an absolute hit, but it's bogged down by a bunch of minor misses that take away from that Dragonvale charm.

Cold element is a bizarre pick, and I think some of these guys need more development time to refine their designs and execution. I think it might be good to figure out how to combine the artists' styles with Backflip's, so the designs all have a distinct feel but still look like DV dragons.
Animation: 5/5 Perfect! You guys did very well. Size: 2/5 This dragon is WAY too big. I cannot see any of my other dragons that are in the same habitat. Besides, shouldn't a pufferfish be smaller? Price: 4/5 Reasonable when comparing to the lowered event currency give out. Theme: 3/5 Fits the water theme well, but I don't really see this having to do much with pirates. Detail: 4/5 Did very well. The only things I am wondering about are the baby's wings and the dragon's mouth. Breeding combo: 3/5 Parents are reasonably easy to obtain, though I don't understand why sailback fits with this dragon. Preference: 3/5 It's cute and funny to watch, but it is much too big and isn't my absolute favorite.

1. 5/5 Nice animation if a bit predictable. I like the way it floats back down. 2. 1/5 Too big even at a low level. Reverted mine to a baby but it still takes up a lot of room. 3. 4/5 Good price. 4. 4/5 Not very piratey but very watery. 5. 4/5 Although I personally don’t love it, I can see it’s a good design. I like that it has a dragon tail & wings but is clearly a puffer fish. 6. 5/5 A good mix of its parents. 7. 3/5 Far too big & its big, sad eyes & button nose make it a bit too cute (in a bad way).

I love how gigantic he is, it makes him more hilarious 😂 Even tho Spinky isn’t very piratey, since it’s based on a pufferfish it fits the ocean theme, so I think that makes it work. Spinky is different from the DV dragon style, but I like this style and it doesn’t bother me as much as other dragon styles that don’t fit.

IMO Spinky is the best dragon in the event so far. It’s really different and I can see why players don’t like it. But it’s so unusual that it makes me like it more. I also like puffer fish so that helps a lot! Great job, DECA!

Comments / feedback for Deca : I love Spinky’s animation and baby Spinky is so cute. Adult Spinky is too big and the small ‘hands’ and ‘feet’ seem out of place and unnecessary. Spinky’s breeding combos is overly complicated for a simple two element dragon. Aquacorn fits perfectly, but Sailback is a Sun/Moon epic.
