This is the tenth round of this Comp. It is about who can be the first to breed whatever dragon(s) is/are released immediately AFTER the Solstice Dragon. If there is more than one dragon released, then there will be separate rounds of this comp for each one. If you agree to play, you are playing for every dragon that gets released. The only proviso is that the new dragon must NOT be a simple breeding of two Pure Element Dragons. The rules are:
We are open for entries now. Entries close as soon as we have confirmation that the new dragon has been released.
Competitors will be attempting to breed the new dragon, which may be released at any time.
Competitors will post a screen grab of their screen showing the time remaining to be ... well what is necessary for the new Dragon. This is yet to be confirmed. This must be a screen shot of breeding time NOT hatching time.
The adjudicator (me) will visit the islands of the fastest poster(s) to verify the coin/gem/food count as in the picture and that eligible parents have created the selected dragon breed. This doesn't seem to be as important, as it's a brand new dragon, and we will all know when someone gets one.
The first person to post the correct picture in this thread and be verified by the adjudicator will be awarded first place.
If we have enough competitors to allow for second places and beyond, these will be judged in the same way, and awarded to those who finished in the next successive fastest time(s).
What's at stake?
Competitors agree to "wager" a free gift for each dragon that gets released to enter the competition.
Competitors agree to send their free gift(s) as instructed by the adjudicator.
Up to 6 entrants will be a winner take all.
7 to 12 entrants will be a 70/30 split, rounded to the nearest gem.
13 to 18 entrants will be a 50/30/20 split rounded to the nearest gem.
19+ entrants will be 40/30/20/10 split rounded to the nearest gem.
The final prize pool will be posted in this post prior to the start of the competition.
How do you enter?
The competition is open to everyone who agrees to abide by the rules.
Entry is open from now till we have official word that new Dragon is available to be bred.
To compete simply post a Dragonvale Screen grab, similar to the one above, in this thread.
All competitors names will be added to a list at the bottom of this post.
I doubt I'll win, what with no dragons past lvl 10, but I'm game to toss a gem into the ring and try for it.
Oh, right... Level shouldn't matter... Lol! But I don't even have all the hybrids yet. Hopefully by July 1 unless they release something else before then.

When Fletch says that, he is referring to the level of the dragon, not the player. To get the Ruby you will just need to be high enough in level as a player to have access to the required dragons. koala!
I'm in. Maybe this dragon will like me. Fletch, do I have to post a screen grab again, or am I off the hook since I did it for the last comp?
Long as you've done it once. Just trying to avoid people getting the dragon then panicking because they can't post the picture.
LOL, panicking. I remembered an hour in the Solstice breed that I was supposed to take a screen shot, and by that point I figured forget about it. Panicking over posting the pic is funny, considering at first I was panicking for forgetting the screen shot. *giggles*
Is the competition figuring out the correct formula to get the dragon or who's fastest to breed it?
It's first to post a screen shot with the correct breeding time. Reading the first post in this thread will help understand the contest. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks. I read it. I just didn't understand if it was figuring out formula.
I am still confused by that part- when a new dragon is released, is it up to players to figure the breeding formula out and spread the word? Or does Backflip announce it?

There are several ways new dragons are released.
When a new dragon is released in the Market it will show the required elements to make it. Then it is up to us to figure out which dragons will breed successfully using the combination of those elements.
The new birthstone gem dragons are not giving us any clues at all. It could be any combinations of elements. We have been using educated guesses based on the type of gem to figure it out.
Then there are the "secret" dragons that appear in the game before being released into the market. Someone will just be breeding some normal pair and get something never seen before.
In each case the first to post a screen shot of the correct breeding time will win. There will sometimes be dragons that are just too easy when the forum will decide to pass on a dragon and wait for the next one.
You will get the idea when we get going on the next one. Should be July birthstone, unless they throw something new at us. Hope this makes it a bit clearer for you.
