THE ORIGIN CONTEST
Have you ever wondered what a dragon’s name meant? Perhaps you tried to guess the etymology, reference, or inspiration behind a dragon. Based on the feedback from the Rate a Dragon threads and questions from other DV communities, twelve dragons were selected for The Origin Contest and given multiple choice answers. Just pick the correct origin for each dragon and you could win 50 gems and an animated background with a special title for your mini profile! The Origin Contest has returned! It’s new and improved, easier to play, and will reveal the origins of a dozen dragons, instead of one! The five players who guess correctly will win 50 gems from Deca Games, you will also receive an animated background of stars for your mini profile for one month (my mini profile is currently displaying the background) and a special title indicating your status as The Origin Contest Winner (if you prefer to not have the animated background and/or the title, please let me know). You will need to be a Forum member to receive the background, since guest profiles are not retained. THE ORIGIN CONTEST RULES 1. Only one submission per person. If more than one entry is posted, the contestant will be disqualified.
2. Please post your answers on this thread only. If you have any questions or difficulty posting, feel free to message a staff member or post your questions on this thread (if you’re a guest, you won’t be able to message, so post your question).
3. Do not edit or delete your post. Posts that are edited will be void and users that delete and submit a new post will not be eligible to win.
4. You do not need to be a Forum member to enter the contest. Guests can post on the Forum, but we would love to have you aboard!
5. The five contestants who answer the most questions correctly will be declared the winners. If there’s a tie, the contestant who posted first wins. All winners will need to message
adlerist with their Friend ID so it can be passed on to Deca Games, who will award the 50 gems prize. If a winner is not a Forum member, they will not have access to messages, so they can either (1) post their guest name and Friend ID on the contest thread, or (2) join the Forum and send a message. The IP address / location of the winning post will be used to ensure it’s the same poster.
6. The contest will conclude on
Friday, December 23rd at 11.59 PM PST . Winners will be announced on this thread on Monday, December 26th. The animated mini profile background will be added to your profile at that time. If you prefer to not have the background, please message me.
HOW TO PLAY THE ORIGIN CONTEST 1. In the below post there are questions about 12 different dragons with multiple choice answers.
2. Copy the questions and answers, and at the top of the thread to the right, click the
Reply button.
3. The posting page will open. Paste the questions and answers in the reply box.
4.
Delete all the answers you believe are incorrect, so only the correct answer remains. (Please keep the A, B, C etc) 5. When you’re done, click
Create Post at the bottom of the reply box.
