Though since its a permanent hybrid, I think the current egg fits better for dapplethorn, I really hope the original egg comes back for a different dragon, possibly one in the next event.

For a spring dragon, a water/dark hybrid is an unusual pick. Lightning/light or air/lightning would’ve matched the theme better, and those permanent hybrid combos are missing.

Really love the butterfly wings. They are very well done, and the highlight of this dragon.

I like Dapplethorn, and I’m really glad we’re finally coming closer to completing the permanent golden hybrids (after all, it’s been over eleven years 😉).

1. Animation: 4/5 The repetitive spinning is giving me a headache. I really like how his body extends when he roars. The wing flapping is nice.

3. Price (9,900 Eggs): 5/5 It doesn't much matter. I feel for those who didn't realize it would be permanent after though, especially with the surprise extra dragon tacked on at the end.
4. Theme: 5/5 I mean, it's a strange tadpole-butterfly dragon.
5. Design details: 4/5 This is such a pretty new addition. It feels a bit out of place for dark/water though. Its name is really just perfect for this particular hybrid. The baby, while having no thorns to speak of, at least looks like it came from the water. But the adult is lacking the thorniness and aquatic features I expected - the blue 'dapply' colour just doesn't give it that 'I came from the dark, watery depths' vibe. The colours are beautiful though and the dragon is just stunning in both adult and baby. If the thorns are what's running down the neck and tail, it needed to be augmented a fair bit to be obvious. Also, baby Dapplethorn's eye: perfection. So much like Rotblossom's.

Comments: I know the egg had to change, but kudos to whoever created the first one. I just wish pedestals purchased before the fix could have retained the original design. I'm in love with baby Dapplethorn.
