Thank you so much for supporting DragonVale by submitting your feedback. It is immensely helpful, as it provides the DV Team with player responses and recommendations for the new dragon designs. Here’s a repost of some friendly reminders to ensure all ratings are accurate and counted.
1. You can add comments to your ratings, but please double-check and be sure you provided a number to rate the dragon.
2. If the following is submitted:
1. 5 2. 4 3. 3 4. 5 5. 4 6. 5 7. 5
But there are 8 questions (or if 8 ratings are submitted, and there’s only 7 questions), the ratings will not count because it’s impossible to tell which rating goes to which category. Using the template will help avoid this issue, but it’s certainly not a requirement.
3. Please use a number between 1-5 to rate the dragons. Numbers outside this range will not be calculated in the rating average.
4. If more than one number is submitted, the rating will not be included.
5. If you change your mind or warm up to a dragon, you can edit your rating, but please inform OboeKade so he can ensure it is accurately recorded.
6. Deca Games asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on. Please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utlilises to add player-designed dragons to the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and related to the dragon.
7. The Rate a Dragon threads will be locked on May 3rd, when the event concludes. If you need more time, please message Adlerist prior to the deadline.

1. Animation 4 The legs look odd during the animation but other than that, it’s good.
2. Size (if you don’t own Dapplethorn, please check a friend’s park) 4 Just about right.
3. Price (9,900 Eggs) 1 Given that it’s permanent this was kind of pointlessly expensive. Especially since newer players might not have realised that it’s permanent and bought it. That being said, it is a really kind price as new releases go, so it gets a point back. 2 points deducted for Solary being released alongside Cherrie. Newer players might not have realised this is a permanent dragon and bought it. This was not fair.
4. How well does Dapplethorn fit the theme of the event 4 It has butterfly wings, and butterflies are associated with change (and obviously Chrysalis dragons) which can be associated with spring... Other than that, not seeing the connection. I guess part of the problem is the vague theme of ‘spring’. But this is definitely more thematically related than Ancestor and Ichigo.
5. Design details 4 Oh my goodness, I really like this dragon’s wings. When I hatched it and fed it to adult stage I gasped a little – and I was using the Prismatic Pantheon, so that was even without colour. Plus, blue and purple — the best colours. I don’t really like the legs, however. They reminded me a bit of the Lightmatter dragon, especially during the animation.

Comments: I liked the original egg but understand why you had to change it. If it makes sense for a dragon, I’d really like to see a similar design reused at some point, because it was a nice egg. I’m not entirely sure why this dragon got its name. Unlike Ichigo’s comment where I said I like the name, I think a less apparently random name for this dragon would have been better. There are zero thorns on this dragon as far as I can tell.

Size: 5/5 It's perfect, which is especially nice for a permanent.
Price: 1/5 Here's my bias: There really isn't a reason to buy it from the event market if it will be permanent afterward. Essentially, buying it is a waste of EC, even if it won't be able to be bred until later.
I wouldn't spend a single magic egg on a permanent dragon, as they will always be able to be bred.
Theme: 3/5 I know it is a butterfly, but I think it would have been better for the paradise event.
Design: 5/5 Beautiful AND easy on the eyes.
Combo: 5/5 Really, there is no explanation needed. And in all honesty, I don't think we need a combo rating as golden hybrids are always elemental combos.
Preference: 4/5 I overall really enjoy the dragon, except for its baby form, which seems a little odd.
Comments: Too bad you had to scrap the original egg design to keep up with the golden hybrid pattern. I really enjoyed it. And honestly, I would like to see it implemented on a future dragon-maybe a Chrysalis element?

Why put a permanent rare hybride as a limited event dragon . No sense for me !
1. 4/5 Good enough. 2. 4/5 Just about right (not ludicrously huge for once). 3. 4/5 Reasonable price. 4. 3/5 Looks like a Spring dragon I guess. 5. 3/5 Nice wings & lovely colours but too bulky & not keen on the legs at all. 6. 5/5 Perfect. 7. 3/5 Just okay.
4. How well does Dapplethorn fit the theme of the event: 3, not sure how this one fits. It has butterfly wings (distant relatives) and thorns, but it has dark and water elements?🤷♀️

In all honesty, I think that DECA designed the dragon not realizing that the Dark/Water golden hybrid didn't exist yet. They probably designed it to be a two-element limited dragon like you are mentioning, but decided to change it to a golden hybrid as a last-minute fill in. However, they may not have noticed until right before the event, so the egg stayed the original until DECA could implant the updated design.

1. Animation 4/5, I know they're taken directly from swiftgrace but I don't mind it at all because of dapplethorn being related to swiftgrace (description doesn't outright say who dapplethorn's relative is but adlerist confirmed it was swiftgrace)

Comments / feedback for Deca : Dapplethorn is a very pretty dragon, great size and reasonably priced. I love the large wings and the colour scheme. I like that Dapplethorn will be permanent after the event. Everyone will have a chance to breed the dragon soon and not have to wait until it returns in a year’s time.
1. Animation: 4/5 Pretty good animation. I wish she had a prop though, maybe of some thorns popping out of her wings or something.
2. Size (if you don’t own Dapplethorn, please check a friend’s park): 5/5 Seems good from my friends' parks, I don't have her yet, though.
3. Price (9,900 Eggs): 4/5 I think for a permanent it's high, but she was also a new dragon, and I haven't been playing long so I'm not sure what new permanents cost in events previously.
4. How well does Dapplethorn fit the theme of the event: 5/5 I think pretty well, she's very springy with her butterfly wings and the word 'dapple' makes me think of dappled light coming through new spring leaves.
5. Design details: 4/5 Her claws are a little large for her body shape, but I get that they are sort of supposed to look like thorns.

Comments / feedback for Deca: I really like Dapplethorn, her name, her colors, her design, and her wings. She reminds me of Swiftgrace in a way, who is also a lovely dragon. I am just glad I heard from others that Dapplethorn will be permanent so I don't have to try to buy her in this event. I'll get to breed her later. She's really great for a golden hybrid permanent.
