Deca Games has developed a series of questions to gather feedback from players regarding their new event dragons. To capture an accurate account of players’ assessments, Rate a Dragon threads are created for each new dragon. These threads will be available approximately one to four weeks after a dragon’s release to allow players some time to breed the dragon and admire its fine qualities.
Since Deca asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on, please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utlilises to add player-designed dragons to the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed and could result in a ban. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and related to the dragon.
The Rate a Dragon threads will remain unlocked until the event concludes on August 9th. At the end of the event, your ratings and comments will be passed on to the Deca DragonVale Team.
Please take a minute to rate the Dunes of Magic dragons from 1-5 for each category. You can either post your feedback on this thread or message me. Thank you for participating, sharing your thoughts, and making this game even better with each dragon.

1. Animation 5 This one's fairly simple, which I like. The falling apart is a lot more fluent than other similar animations which is great!
2. Rift trait 5 That's probably the best place it could have been put, apart from maybe the jewels (which might have ended up too subtle).
3. Size (if you don’t own Tutan, please check a friend’s park) 4 For an epic this is an okay size.
4. Price (15,000 Spice) 1 This event effectively didn't have an extra EC mechanic so I really don't understand why DECA decided to make all the dragons really expensive. Especially since they added something like 10 returning dragons that weren't in Paradise last year. Normally, 15k EC would be at least an entire week's worth of EC gone all at once; this event it's quite a bit more than that. In my opinion a third limited should not be more than 14k EC at most. 13.7k EC would be more reasonable.
5. How well does Tutan fit the theme of the event 5 Especially the pun in its name.
6. Design details 5 The baby is very cute and the adult is really cool. The colour scheme is really well chosen and the design really captures what it's supposed to represent. I like how it blends a sense of majesty/superiority with decay. Overall, really well done! 😁
7. How would you rate Tutan’s breeding combo (PHARAOH + SUNSTRUCK) 4.5 Pharaoh is perfect and is also really nice to breed (requires two permanent dragons, and has great odds) so no complaints there. I'm not entirely sure why Sunstruck specifically was chosen (Sunscorch would have been better, though I get that it probably wasn't chosen due to it confusingly being moon element), but again it's pretty easy to breed, and even if you don't breed it it's really cheap. Arid would have given the same concept and been a kinder parent to use.
8. How much do you like Tutan (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 5 There isn't really anything to complain about, besides the horrible price and cloning odds, though that's a problem with this event in general.
Comments: Please, can DECA not make the dragons this expensive in future events.
Animation: 4/5 Overall, very well done. Could use a tad more, though the dragon does well enough.
Trait: 2/5 There are two reasons why I rather dislike the trait; not enough and inconsistency. I feel like the trait would have been way better if it included not only the wings, but also all the grey parts of Tutan's body which is not covered by bandages. It would make it feel more complete.
Size: 4/5 I did not get the greatest look, although I believe it was pretty good. Perhaps just a tad big.
Price: 2/5 Considering the somewhat difficult combo and low breeding odds, this one is too expensive.
Theme: 5/5 No explanation needed.
Design: 5/5 The simplistic design takes me back to the good ol' Backflip Studios days. In fact, if I wasn't a veteran player, I might have thought that Backflip DID make the dragon. And it's wonderful.
Combo: 4/5 One of the first combos that actually is fitting this event. Although the parents are a tad difficult to breed, it is nowhere near the difficulty as some other recent ones.
Preference: 5/5 I really, really enjoy the Backflip style to this dragon. It takes me back, and really fits the art of the game. Some of the recent DECA dragons, albeit good designs too, are just too detailed - which sometimes makes adult dragons rather low-quality. Sometimes a more simplistic style is best, as demonstrated perfectly in the Tutan Dragon.

Comments / feedback for Deca : I like that the baby does backflips – I like it even more that the adult doesn’t! Not a fan of the adult falling apart. It’s animation is fine without it. Pharaoh is a great parent, not too difficult to breed and Tutan looks like it is related to Pharaoh. Not sure what Sunstruck adds? Really like the colour of Tutan and the wing detail. Too pricey for an event with no way to earn extra currency.

Pricey. 5. 5/5 Another perfect fit. 6. 5/5 Brilliant design. The colours, the jewels, the bandages, all perfect. A special mention for the legs - great legs! Often the legs on an otherwise fabulous dragon can look so awkward & off putting but Tutan shows they don’t have to (Lightmatter & Margento are surely wondering what might’ve been). 7. 4/5 Not entirely convinced by Sunstruck but Pharaoh had to be there. 8. 5/5 Love it.

Comments: I love the collapsing animation, especially the way his head bounces. The trait is nice. His size is too big. He looks ridiculous on the Sun habitat's sun and his enormity contributes to a mismatch with the smaller Sun element dragons like Nubis. I was so glad to see the prices went up incrementally as this event progressed. They're still too high given the crummy co-op odds for everybody but Oasian and the lack of a way to make extra event currency though. Thematically this dragon fits, of course. His breeding combo is pretty great too! Pharaoh getting scorched by the sun into this mummy! Someone put thought into this combo. Detail-wise, I adore this dragon. I love the classic DV style. It feels like someone wrapped up Jackal and makes me wish Nubis was more in line with this style. More dragons like this please (but smaller)! The egg is also really nice and very classic DV. Nice job, Deca team!
