Thank you so much for supporting DragonVale by submitting your feedback. It is immensely helpful, as it provides the Deca DV Team with player responses and recommendations for the dragon designs. Here’s a repost of some friendly reminders to ensure all ratings are accurate and counted.
1. You can add comments to your ratings, but please double-check and be sure you provided a number to rate the dragon.
2. If the following is submitted:
1. 5 2. 4 3. 3 4. 5 5. 4 6. 5 7. 5
But there are 8 questions (or if 8 ratings are submitted, and there are only 7 questions), the ratings will not count because it’s impossible to tell which rating goes to which category. Using the dragon’s Rate a Dragon template will help avoid this issue, but it’s not a requirement.
3. Please use a number between 1-5 to rate the dragons. Numbers outside this range will be discarded; it will not be calculated in the ratings average.
4. If more than one number is submitted, the rating will not be included.
5. If you change your mind or warm up to a dragon, you can edit your comments or ratings. But if you update your ratings, please inform OboeKade so he can ensure it is accurately recorded. You must be a member to edit your post because guest profiles are not saved.
6. Deca Games asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on. Please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utilises to add player-designed dragons to the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and related to the dragon.
7. The Rate a Dragon threads will be locked on January 24th, when the event concludes. If you need more time, please message me prior to the deadline.
Many thanks to adlerist , ladyj , MinyaZ , OboeKade , and Worms for all their work on the Rate a Dragon project! And a huge thank you to everybody for taking the time and providing your feedback on the new dragons. It is greatly appreciated by all!

1. Animation 3
2. Size (if you don’t own Shaper, please check a friend’s park) 3
3. Price (13,000 Iceberries) 1 originally I rated 2 but with Snopaw being released this isn't a fair price
4. How well does Shaper fit the theme of the event 4
5. Rate Shaper’s design 1, though I like the baby (I’m not sure if this score is meant to be for the adult, baby or an average of both?)
6. How would you rate Shaper’s breeding combo (CHOMP + BLOOM) 1 both unrelated and not in the event... at least they’re pretty easy to breed when they are available
7. How much do you like Shaper (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 2
Comments / feedback for Deca Please either use dragons already in events for combos or add all of the new releases’ ancestors to events (preferably the first option especially for events like this one where there are already far too many dragons). It’s fair enough that Chomp and Bloom weren’t added this time around since Shaper can't actually be bred with its combo, but it’s important for limiteds, and when the clone-onlies become breedable next event.

2. Size (if you don’t own Shaper, please check a friend’s park) 5/5. fine
3. Price (13,000 Iceberries) 1/5.
4. How well does Shaper fit the theme of the event 5/5. definitely a cold dragon
5. Rate Shaper’s design 2/5. i like the concept! it's a nice concept!
6. How would you rate Shaper’s breeding combo (CHOMP + BLOOM) 1/5. insulting. what is this supposed to be?
7. How much do you like Shaper (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 1/5. i want to be nicer, but the very unfitting visual style and the utterly detestable combo make this dragon incredibly unlikable personally.
1. 5/5 Fun animation 2. 5/5 A good size 3. 3/5 Starter dragons should be capped at 10k (never going to happen) 4. 5/5 Would be a cool, chilled guest at the ball (maybe not actually cool & chilled, seems a bit manic) 5. 4/5 Looks a bit thrown together but also looks drawn by Dr Seuss & that’s always a good thing. Could do without the tongue though. Looks gross & imagine getting that stuck on the ice 6. 2/5 Weird combination 7. 4/5 Loses a point for the tongue
Animation: 5/5 The act of creating ice sculptures of Lumi gives the dragon a unique personality.
Size: 4/5 A little bit too large for my liking.
Price: 3.5/5 A tad pricey, although at the same time, not unbearable.
Theme: 5/5 What's a snowy ball without the ice sculptures?
Design: 5/5 It's so goofy, it looks like something outta a Dr. Seuss book.
Combo: 1/5 What in the name of - Did DECA put all the dragon names into a hat and pick two at random? Because that's what it seems like. Not only do the parents not fit at all, but they aren't even available during the winter event.
Preference: 1/5 Nope, this one is not for me. At all.
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.
2. Size (if you don’t own Shaper, please check a friend’s park) 4
3. Price (13,000 Iceberries) 5
4. How well does Shaper fit the theme of the event 5
5. Rate Shaper’s design 3I don't like the tongue. It's also kinda cartoony, but would have been okay without the tongue
6. How would you rate Shaper’s breeding combo (CHOMP + BLOOM) 2 What's chomp got to do with anything? I can see bloom at a stretch, it's kind of a winter/early spring flower, but chomp?.
7. How much do you like Shaper (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 4 that tongue...no.
1. Animation: 4 2. Size: 5 3. Price (13,000 Iceberries): 3 4. Theme: 5 5. Rate Shaper’s design: 3 6. Breeding combo (CHOMP + BLOOM): 1 7. How much do you like Shaper (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!): 4
Comments: I like that Deca went a bit silly with this dragon. It isn't going to win over everybody and it did take me a hot minute to find my own joy in the design, but I did. Shaper's got a lot of character. He's kind of grotesque, but he can't help it. I love his long fingers and skillful sculpting work. He's very Edward Scissorhands, or Dinosaur Train's Therizinosaurus mixed with Dr. Seuss. His tongue is... not good, but it's actually the baby I really dislike. It's too 'cute'. But. It's better than the Littlest Pet Shop babies.
I think Deca dropped the ball on one particular aspect of Shaper though - this tongue. WHY oh WHY doesn't it get stuck on the ice block?! What I would give to have him walking along with a normal sized tongue sticking out, when an ice block appears. As he starts working on it, his tongue gets stuck. The block falls away and his tongue IS STRETCHED. It hangs for a time before regressing back to its normal state and he carries on as usual.
As for the breeding combo, I don't understand at all. To play devil's advocate here, if Chomp and Bloom were SO important to use for this particular dragon's combo even though they aren't in the event, I raise you Lightmare as Snowdrop's true parent. I'm not advocating for Lightmare in the Winter event, quite the opposite. Winter event dragons/permanent dragons should have been used for Shaper's combo. Maybe I could even get behind something that returned in the previous event, but not Bloom. Honestly, this dragon doesn't feel so special that it couldn't just be an elemental combo.
4. How well does Shaper fit the theme of the event : 5
5. Rate Shaper’s design : 3.5
6. How would you rate Shaper’s breeding combo (CHOMP + BLOOM) : 1 NO, a million times NO.
7. How much do you like Shaper : 3
Comments / feedback for Deca : I really like the animation of Shaper sculpting Lumi out of ice and breathing on the ice-cube to melt it. I would have liked to see Lumi stay a little longer, or Shaper melt her with his breath. BUT, please put the tongue away. It would be OK if Shaper had its tongue out of the side of the mouth while concentrating on sculpting, but to have it lolling out of its mouth permanently? No thanks. The baby is cute and I like that the adult has kept the bigger head with eyes and is not overly detailed.
Shaper has a breeding combo that would be worthy of a 0 if it was allowed. Chomp is an Om of Noms/Autumn dragon, which requires Stygian to breed. Bloom has been available in the Spring event, but never this event (although it is required for Epoch). Next winter event all three of these dragons will need to be added to the winter event. There is already a huge amount of content in the winter event without having to add unnecessary dragons (Chomp and Stygian) from a separate event. Please consider changing Shaper’s breeding combo, these two dragons do not fit at all. Snowbrush or Thundersnow would make a good parent matched with another ice/water hybrid.
4. How well does Shaper fit the theme of the event: 5
5. Rate Shaper’s design: 4
6. How would you rate Shaper’s breeding combo (CHOMP + BLOOM): 1
7. How much do you like Shaper: 4
Comments / feedback for Deca: I like its animation a lot - carving the sculpture and melting the block of ice. I understand it is supposed to be goofy, but the tongue is kind of creepy. The breeding combo makes no sense at all! I mean if it is Chuck it might make some sense (since Chuck is into carving too). And why Bloom which signifies spring and flowers?
1. Animation 4/5 Carving Lumi is cute ... the waaay too long tongue is ugh.
2. Size (if you don’t own Shaper, please check a friend’s park) 4/5
3. Price (13,000 Iceberries) 1/5
4. How well does Shaper fit the theme of the event 4/5 Winter Ball carving entertainment.
5. Rate Shaper’s design 2/5 The tongue ..................
6. How would you rate Shaper’s breeding combo (CHOMP + BLOOM) 1/5 What can i say? All dragon info is quickly and easily available prior to making such an important choice.
7. How much do you like Shaper (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 3/5 He's cute in a funny, silly way and i like his sculpting but ... that tongue!
