RATE A DRAGON

Deca Games has developed a series of questions to gather feedback from players regarding their new event dragons. To capture an accurate account of players’ assessments, Rate a Dragon threads are created for each new dragon. These threads will be available approximately one to four weeks after a dragon’s release to allow players some time to breed the dragon and admire its fine qualities.

Since Deca asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on, please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utilises to add player-designed dragons to the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed and could result in a ban. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and related to the dragon.

The Rate a Dragon threads will remain unlocked until the event concludes on January 24th. At the end of the event, your ratings and comments will be passed on to the Deca DragonVale Team.

4. Price (18,000 Iceberries) - 1 - dragons that have both a difficult combo AND low Co-Op cloning odds, like Dancy does, should never ever ever cost more than 15.5k EC (even that’s a bit unfair). I wouldn’t have minded this price as much for Snowdrop (or Snopaw if it hadn’t been a surprise) with its easy combo and high Co-Op odds but it’s completely unreasonable here!!!

5. How well does Dancey fit the theme of the event - 5 - FINALLY a dragon that actually relates to the Snowy Winter Ball theme!

6. Rate Dancey’s design - 3 - I was kind of shocked at first, since with Glitz being a parent I was expecting a more elegant design — like Icecarade, with less ice and more sparkles. I got neither elegance nor sparkles. The design has grown on me a lot since the initial shock, and I’d rate 5 (despite the eyes which are a little off-putting) if the parents were more related — but it just doesn’t fit at all in relation to the parents, and as such I don’t want to rate higher than 3. Sorry Dancey!

7. How would you rate Dancey’s breeding combo (GLITZ + FESTIVE) - 1 - this is one of the longest breeding trees in the game. Glitz needs Jadice (evolution) and Yanghis, so therefore also Starshine, Flicker, Gift, Twinkle, Dazzling, Winter and two ornamental dragons, as well as the Coal dragon for Jadice. Shiver is better related since it actually dances and it would have avoided all of the issues that Glitz causes. Shiver + Festive would have been infinitely nicer and so much more related. That combo contributes one more element than Glitz + Festive does, but I’d take Shiver + Festive over Glitz + Festive any day

8. How much do you like Dancey (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 2 – I like it a lot, but little to no thought/sympathy went into the combo and price

Comments / feedback for Deca - Please start considering both how well related combos are and how reasonable they are accessibility-wise — but please usually prioritise accessibility. Obviously some combos are going to be hard, but in those cases, please make sure the required parents are very obviously related. Not just tacked on for the sake of difficulty.

Also please DECA we’re begging you stop making dragons this expensive, it got to the point of being ridiculous a while ago

5/5  In spite of everything, i really like this dragon.  Too bad that struggling to breed it in all 4 of my maxed parks, the Rift, and Runic caves as well as spending an alarming amount of gems ... without success ... i have learned my lesson and will put my wallet under lock & key from this day forward!

Comments/feedback for Deca : I really like Dancey’s animations, and the colours are very festive. The colours make them stand out on the ice/snow which probably isn’t a good thing when they can’t dance. 🤣 Nice rift placement. Great size, not too big considering there are three of them to fit in the habitat. Too expensive. Dancey’s breeding combo is wayyyyy too complicated. There is an evolve dragons and many difficult to breed dragons in Glitz’s parentage. Dancey is the third dragon this event that requires Winter as part of its breeding parentage.

Comments/feedback for Deca: very very frustrating experience trying to breed and clone this entertaining dragon(s). Spent over 500 gems and never succeeded in breeding this one and had to buy it. . However, I love this fun and clever beastie.

Thine cast judgment upon thee Dancey Dragon:

Animation: 5/5 Dancey's clumsy moves live up to its description.

Trait: 5/5 Although typically not a fan of belly-traits, it fits perfectly with this dragon.

Size: 5/5 Dancey's size is perfect for my judgment.

Price: 2/5 The prices are quite expensive for Dancey.

Design: 2/5 Although the Backflip-style is nice, Dancey's expression is more than unsettling.

Theme: 4.5/5 Dancey could be considered an opposite to Grandeur.

Combo: 1/5 Although I do thank DECA from changing STAGE to FESTIVE, the problem is more about the other parent. Glitz is an extremely hard dragon to breed, requiring both an evolution dragon AND Yanghis, which is a dragon that requires Starshine-one of the most difficult ornamentals to breed-as a parent.

Preference: 1/5 No, absolutely no. Dancey is a dragon in which should be banished to the distortion world, permanently. Both its baby and adult forms are hideous to the point that I have a difficult time looking at them.

Comments: Dancey would have a great partnership with Sea Shanty if given the chance, but the lack of elements make them unable to share a habitat (without using an Omnitat). I feel like Dancey should have the melody element so it can accomplish its clumsy dreams with sea shanty.

He's perfect. I love him and hate him all at once. Goofy, derpy dragons hold a special place in my heart, but I also can't stand the Stage body type. It's such a wonderful juxtaposition for my brain. I finally managed a traited one and it was Earth traited. I've left it because it just adds to the ridiculousness of him. Rarely am I a fan of more than one dragon being called 'a dragon', but this one wouldn't have worked nearly as well if it had been just one clumsy, bumbling fool, stumbling around.
The price was... not great. But you knew we'd all complain, so moving on to... the Breeding combo! Which was also... not great. I understand that this wasn't the original combo and whoever thought they could use a dragon that actually looks like this dragon's parent in the combo - kudos to you! Too bad Stage isn't in the Winter event. With so many limiteds and so few yearly events, this is a perfect time to re-suggest that perhaps some more dragons should be upgraded to permanent status. They would immediately be more accessible for future combos across events, and it would reduce Market bloat. Maybe not Stage, but there must some reasonable candidates for this. As for Glitz, I see the reasoning, but ugg.

Dancey is definitely Ornamental - placed high enough on the tree (price and breeding combo) to be just out of reach for all the kids (newer players).
