Finally got my rift to throw out some Buttercups, 2 regular and a rifted. Sadly my rift didn’t want to give me a Fluffydoodle, I tried up to the 40K etherium cost breed - highest I’ve ever done! Now I’m waiting for the two non-traited Buttercups to travel to my park and I’ll try for Fluffydoodle in my caves but I bit the bullet and used EC to grab the ever elusive Fluffydoodle. The question now is do I try cloning using my Fluffydoodle or stick with my original Buttercup???
Hoping for much better luck with whatever the next limited dragon for this event is.
40k. Oh my! I’ve been going up through 15k every day this week. I made a normal Fluffydoodle in co-op fairly quickly, but the traited one was eluding me. I made one normal one in the Rift and opted to pedestal it. That started to feel like a huge mistake as I failed at co-op cloning it over and over and over again…
My rifty Buttercup is level 18, thanks to some lucky rolls this week. I switched around between a few light/airs. But truly frustrating was how I got FluffyD - today my Buttercup made a baby. I kept it, raised it to level 11 and wouldn’t you know, breed #2 was a traited Fluffydoodle! I’ve done this a few times in the past. I wonder if it’s just my mind playing tricks, or if there’s a correlation between feeding a dragon up and breeding success.
My alt, on the other hand, bred for traited Buttercup all week and got nada. Today I gemmed a few breeds and got a 2 1/2 day co-op timer. Thankfully, in the final hours, I succeeded in the epic cave! Phew! I was not looking forward to spending all that ec so soon!
Excited for tomorrow’s new limited now! May the koalas visit everybody!
PSA: The new dragons from Lovely Double are now in the Wishing Well
You can now wish for the Lovely Doubly dragons — Brutiful, Classical, Divi, Glassia, Lovesick, Lovonone, Mesmerus, Nomnoter, and Pricklefluff! Deca included them in the Wishing Well. So if you’re having a difficult time breeding one of them in the Rift, wish for the twin and claim the traited-twin version from the final daily reward prize.
The only Lovely Doubly dragon that won’t be in the final dragon selection is Mesmeus because he has not been added to the event market. We’ve asked Deca several times to add Mesmerus, but we still don’t have a response. Therefore, if you need a traited Mesmeus, collect the Idol of Hypnosis decorations, breed or use a wish on a twin Mesmer, claim a traited-twin Mesmer for the final reward, and evolve Mesmer into a traited-twin Mesmerus.
It seems I've been trying to breed a rifted Divi for years, in between events, so I thought I'd just stop mucking about and spend a wish to put me out of my misery.
I was a bit worried that as I only had two normal Divis (no twin) I may not be able to get a rifted one, but it looks as if I can't get one at all! Is that correct? Or is it a dragon that has to be evolved?
As I understand it, dragons are not available in the wishing well while they are available in an event market, so Divi won't be available for a wish again until after the event is over. I've been desperate for a traited Divi too, kicking myself for not choosing it (two, twin and then traited) from a runic cave in the last event.
A couple of tips about the Wishing Well
• You can wish for any dragon at the Wishing Well, except Legendary and Mythic dragons • If you own a regular version of a dragon, you can wish for a twin. If you own a twin, you cannot wish for a traited version. The only exceptions are the Rift-exclusive dragons like Abraxas, Rigel, Rift primaries, etc, which are only available with a trait. • If the dragon is in an event, it will still be in the Wishing Well. • However, none of the new dragons from Lovely Doubly made it into the Well. I just checked and Brutiful, Classical, Glassia, Divi, Pricklfluff, Lovonone, Nomnoter, and Lovesick are all absent. I will ask Deca to add them.
We have requested that traited dragons be wishable. It makes sense since twins are available. Hopefully, Deca will make this change, but we haven't heard a response from them. As Nagini noted, this is what makes the Runic Breeding Caves so valuable for players who collect traited dragons. Breed or wish for the twin, then use the RBCs to claim the traited version.
• Mesmerus, which was introduced during Lovely Doubly was also not available at the Wishing Well, but that has changed…

There was one thing Gardenia knew all flowers needed — the sun. Only the sun brings forth the flowers. She continued to search the Flower Festival for bottles of sunshine, sunny spells, and sun lamps but was coming up short. As it started to get very warm, she moved to a shaded area, but it offered little relief; it was unusually hot. Gardenia looked up, HELIANTHUS was looming above, radiating warmth and commanding the sun. With his long neck stretched towards the sky, his budding head bloomed, inviting the rays, then sharply closed. He lowered his head, and the captured heat emitted gradually to all those around him. Gardenia imagined Cadberry Meadows awash in the golden glow of Helianthus’ sun. It was glorious.
Helianthus is in the co-op bringing on the heat! Koalathus to all of us!
Breeding hint: DAFFADOWNDILLY + sun element
Incubation time: 18 hours
Habitats: Sun, plant earth, water
Contributing elements: plant, earth, water
Breeding percentages: breeding hint 4%; co-op clone: 1%
Cloning dragons:
Elders • Plant, Earth, Water
Hybrids • Forest, Snootroot, Seaweed
PRO TIP: The best sun dragon to use to breed Heliantus is Sailback. It does not add any extra elements. If you don’t own Sailback, the following dragons only add one element: Equinox (air), Solar Eclipse (air), Solstice (air), Ruckus (light), and Tranquil (light).
I bred Helianthus in the Rift on the third try (Daffadowndilly + Sailback) but it wasn’t traited. Much sadness.
Many thanks to MinyaZ for the cloning and sun dragons!

Darn, I missed Tranquil in my calculations 😆 I was close though 😅
No luck with Helianthus yet even after 16 Rift breeds. Hopefully tomorrow...
It is interesting that Helanthius has no face at all.
I love it. It’s wild and weird and just what we need.

Thanks, I asked about Sakura yesterday and Deca said it would be added, but they didn’t say when. Their communication has been a bit off lately.
I see Reddit just posted about it.

my favorite comment on Helianthus so far, "That thing looks like a face hugger ate a rose"
Asking Deca to add this to Helianthus’ description ASAP!

So fast! I think this is the second shortest title for a quest! Or tied for the shortest.
Too bad the quest wasn’t '🌻'. Would’ve been the shortest for sure.

Love is in the air and the home with Heart Haven. Not only is this sanctuary heart-shaped and cosy, but the prize-winning roses from the Flower Festival bloom in its gardens all year long. Heart Haven is the centrepiece of the celebration, the delightful destination, and the heart of Valentines. Simply rate all the Flower Festival dragons before the event concludes on 13 March, and you'll have access to floral bouquets and heart-y sweets from season to season. There’s no place like home.
Since we have completed two years of Rate a Dragon, there are now two previous Valentine's awards to offer. Instead of Heart Haven, you can choose the Dreamcloud from last year’s Lovely Doubly, or if you prefer dragons over dreams, the Love Dragon from Sweet Dreams. So many options! After you’re done rating the Flower Festival dragons, message me, and the Dreamcloud or the Love Dragon will be added to your profile instead.
To give you a head start into Heart Haven, here are the first two Rate a Dragon threads

I think the koalas are back in my park. I finally bred a Fluffydoodle on my last attempt in my cave yay but I forgot to grab its pedestal, oh well. And in further proof the koalas are back I’ve managed to turn my two Daffodowndilly’s (one traited and the other not) into five so I will be able to try breed and clone for the bizarre flower-faced Helianthus everywhere in my park. Fingers crossed I’ve not jinxed myself and the koalas leave after delivering me the Daffo’s.

I think Deca forgot to release the traited Helianthus dragons this morning. 😉 I also bred an untraited version and several players in Last Call also bred untraited ones. 😊

Koalas to all
With so many Daffadowndilly's I'm sure you'll have no trouble breeding a Helianthus. Once you have bred Helianthus - you can breed a Flufflydoodle in co-op with a friend's. It should be much easier cloning with two than breeding it. 🐨 🐨 🐨 🐨

Could we get combo and cloning odds if we breed a Daffadowndilly with a Helianthus in coop, since Helianthus has the sun element?

I got a traited one yesterday morning around noon, I think. Not first try, but somewhere around the 2,500 etherium breed mark.

Yes you can. Using Daffadowndilly + Helianthus gives 5% breeding/cloning odds. This will give a possible 32 dragons as Helianthus also contributes the plant element to the mix.
If you are breeding Daffadowndilly + Sailback there are only 19 possible dragons with 4% odds.
Using Daffadowndilly + Helianthus is a very good option for those that don't own a Sailback dragon or want the extra 1% cloning odds. 😊
