This thread is to acknowledge all the players who achieved the remarkable goal of Purple Fire and Blue Fire! It takes a lot of time, patience, gems, Etherium, and luck to acquire these goals, and we would like to recognise those players, encourage others to join the lounge, and help everybody reach this incredible accomplishment!

What is Purple Fire/Blue Fire?
The Dragonarium has several goals: Red Fire, Blue Fire, and Purple Fire. It also has a Ghostly goal. On top of the Dragonarium, there is a dragon that breathes ghost, and red, blue, and purple fires to show which goals you have accomplished.
To make your Dragonarium breath ghosts, you will need to collect all Ghostly dragons.
Red Fire
To achieve Red Fire, you must own at least one of each dragon.
Blue Fire
Blue Fire requires all twins for all the dragons that can be twinned (some dragons like Legendaries and Rift exclusives cannot be twinned). The only exception is the Ghostly dragons (you do not need all Ghostly dragons twinned for Blue Fire).
Purple Fire
To obtain Purple Fire, you must have Blue Fire (all twins) and at least one of each traitable dragon (some dragons like Legendary and Ghostly dragons cannot be traited). In addition, all 10 traits must be unlocked for each traited dragon.

A tall tale that’s drowned in proverbs and only whispered in fables and fairytales as bedtime stories. It has been a long journey where I’ve had the pleasure and privilege to meet all of you — a second family and the only ones who understand what Purple Fire means. In many ways, it’s hard to believe the pinnacle has been reached. There were so many obstacles, challenges, and setbacks. But to be at the end of this road is like stepping into DragonVale lore with all my DV friends. I cannot imagine a better place to be.
A lot of people have asked what is Purple Fire or want to know about the journey.
What is Purple Fire
Atop your Dragonarium, a dragon sits and breathes different fires depending on what you’ve collected. If you have all the Ghostly dragons, it appropriately breathes ghosts. If you have twins of all the twinnable dragons, it’ll breathe Blue Fire. And if you have all the twins and all the dragons traited, plus all ten traits unlocked for every dragon, your Dragonarium will breathe Purple Fire.
My brief Purple Fire timeline:
• 2011: Downloaded DragonVale six days after it was released • 2019: Backflip developed an in-game friending system. For the first time, I could add friends and communicate with them on the DragonVale Community Forum. Blue Fire was now a possibility. • 2019-2021: Blue Fire was postponed with no Twin Weekend for 1.5 years • 2021: Achieved Blue Fire • 2022: Achieved Blue Fire and all the dragons traited (but did not have enough Etherium to unlock all the remaining traits) • 2023: Acquired enough Etherium to unlock all the traits • 2024: Purple Fire
Today, I think avid players can achieve Purple Fire in 3-5 years. But currently, it’s only possible if you purchase Runestones, so you can claim 10 traited-twin dragons that have never been breedable (there are 2-3 unbreedable dragons in every event) when the Runic Breeding Caves are in the game twice a year (for a total of 20 traited-twin dragons claimed). And since there’s such a long gap between the spring and winter events, Purple Fire is achievable during the spring event.
Collecting all the traited dragons is quite a challenge. It is much, much easier to obtain all the twins for Blue Fire. But after you have Blue Fire, the next place to visit is purple. The elusive Purple Fire has been my long-term DV goal for the last four years. It is hard to believe the milestone marathon is done.

Out of curiosity. Does owning the twin egg pedestal before the twin dragon, still count towards the twin total?
My somewhat wishful and unreal goal, has been to collect regular, twin, traited, and twin traited for both egg pedestals and dragon form. Because of that I generally have to collect twin/ twin traited eggs first.
It is a joy to be a part of this community with the greatest DV players the Vale has ever known and the grandest people the world has ever seen!
okelani, owning a twin pedestal does not count towards owning the twin dragon. You are obtaining the eggs and dragons in the correct order. There are other players who are also collecting the twin pedestals and dragons simultaneously. They twin the pedestal first, so they don’t receive a traited-twin dragon from the mystery eggs, login rewards, RBC claims, or final event prize. It is definitely the smartest strategy if you want to collect all the twin pedestals and dragons.

You will get there, vampdragon! It took me a year to acquire enough Etherium to unlock all the traits. But during the four-year purple journey, I targeted locked traits while breeding in the Rift. For each breeding combo, I looked at the offspring and counted how many dragons were missing each trait. Then, I changed the parent traits and alignment to the traits that I needed the most. This helped me to unlock all 10 traits for the permanent dragons (both hybrids and epics) and many limited dragons with element breeding combos.
We need Derek’s Blue Fire date and achievement on this thread for posterity. Derek posted the blue success on the Cooperative Requests thread. And I took a video from his park.

If people liked this idea and you wanted to do it, I think it'd be cool if, on request, people who got some kind of Dragonarium fire could have something similar as a title on their avatar for a while/permanently, and maybe some confetti/fireworks for a week/a month/some over length?

Nobody loves celebrating the accomplishments of players more than the Forum! 🎉 That's why Samiam came up with the idea for this thread and created it. We all wanted to acknowledge these milestone achievements and share the joy with the players who spent many years reaching a significant goal.
For the winners of Name the DV Things, I used a different title because the name of the game was a bit silly. Usually it’s '______ Winner'. It’ll likely return to that in the future. The special titles and mini-profile backgrounds are for contest winners. It gets chaotic tracking them when there are multiple titles/backgrounds active for different periods of time, and members can win several contests, so they overlap (there will be three titles/backgrounds for this event, and the winter event had four). Plus, it takes a lot of time to find backgrounds that look good on the profile and blend well with the Forum’s new theme/colours. So unless staff members are willing to track the backgrounds and find new ones, unfortunately, I can’t see adding them temporarily for players who reach Blue and Purple Fires. For Red Fire, many of our members are long-time players and already have Red Fire, so almost everybody would be eligible to receive the title/background. That would lessen the award for players who win contests.
But the good news is all our members can receive an animated background by entering our contests. It’s open to all members, we'd love to see them join, and there's at least one contest per event, so there are lots of opportunities to nab a special title and snazzy mini-profile background!

I remember the last time Hasbro ran the RBC’s stating that I wasn’t interested in getting twins. Lol. Now keeping blue fire is an obsession. I almost messed it up because I accidentally evolved my traited-twin Monolith 3 while trying to unlock evolve traits with EC. Fortunately I had not selected my last gift yet, so I selected a twin Monolith 3.
I am only 20 dragons away from having a rift version of them all (19 really, I’m just waiting for an event that I can use EC to evolve a traited lovey to a lovedovey). I have many traits to unlock yet, so purple fire is still a long way off.

I joined the "Blue Fire Club" for the first time on August 30, 2023 after breeding the final 43 twin dragons that I needed during twin weekend. I'd been a daily player since Aug. 27, 2013 but had only started chasing the blue flame seriously the summer of 2022, armed with a list of every twin dragon needed, which I updated every event. Since then I've had the blue flame many times, including right now, I love it! Currently I am 19 dragons away from having all rift-traited dragons, 14 of which are in the current event (not including Honeybrew, Plate, or Jester)! Then comes the unlocking of all of the rift traits (gotta stock up on etherium). I probably won't make it to Purple Fire next spring, but hope springs eternal!!! Hopefully there's a Rift-traited Lambovian dragon in my future. I bid 2500 shards on one in Dragon Draw today but someone else won.

And congratulations on maintaining your Blue Fire over the last year! In some ways, it’s easier to maintain Blue Fire than to chase it because acquiring 50 or 100 twins is a much larger task than acquiring 8 or 16 from several new events.
