4. How well does Pangolian fit the theme of the event: 5, we do need to prevent forest fires when people are picnicking
5. Rate Pangolian’s design: 4
6. How would you rate Pangolian’s breeding combo (BRAMBLE + metal + earth): 5
7. How much do you like Pangolian: 4
Comments/feedback for Deca: I appreciate it keeping a watchful eye for any dangers and fires in the Vale, but a tad disappointed that its description is not of a Pangolin in real life. I would love to see the animation of an anteater..

Deep breathe.
I'm torn on a few levels regarding Pangolian. 1. I didn't immediately realize it was an Abraxas reskin and therefore thought it was an ok design except 2. This doesn't look remotely like a Pangolin except for colour and scales 3. It's an Abraxas reskin.
So... if this wasn't named after a cute, quadrupedal, scaly, low walking, long-snouted, endangered creature, I'd probably forgive the reskin, because Abraxas is pretty decent and Deca only has so much time. But... its name means it's based off the animal and I just. I can't. The Pangolin idea could have been SO creative and beloved. Instead, it feels like a generic dragon shape with some add-ons that make it a bit pangolin-like.
It needs the snout. It needs the enormous tail - even a tail more like Barkskins would have been better. And of course, it really should be on all fours. Then, to add insult to injury, it doesn't roll up and has an accentuated BLUNT snout. I also find the adult's arms off to the side like he's dislocated both shoulders disconcerting. But overall, as a dragon, it's ok otherwise. The baby has a great expression (though I wish the front feet were more separated and he was less statue-like).
And here's another thought: Rubrum and Shaper both have tongues that pop out. Shaper's is a bit off-putting, but Rubrum's seemed well received. Pangolian could have also had a tongue that sneaks snacks from the picnic. That would have given him an 'in' into the theme of this event. Because otherwise Pangolian has absolutely no relation to this event.
The breeding combo doesn't bother me. Nice and doable. I gave Pangolian a 3.5 still, because I do like the dragon. I just don't like the dragon in relation to what it's based on.

The fire in Pangolian’s animation was not included in the Dragonarium. The full animation needs to be in the Dragonarium or dragons look absolutely ridiculous. This isn’t the first time fire, starbursts, etc have been missing from the Dragonarium animation.
Bramble has been used a lot lately for new dragon combos — Bushwhack (harvest event) and Spite in the last event (Valentines). Bramble fits in those combos, but I don’t see any correlation between a prickly bramble shrub and a pangolin.
Deca must have realised that pangolins are greatly adored in a community revolving around dragons, like the DragonVale playerbase. Pangolins are dragon-ish and famously known as the most trafficked mammal in the world, making this endangered species deeply beloved. So, it is bewildering that Abraxas, which looks nothing like a pangolin, was used as the model. The defensive ball that a pangolin curls into to protect itself is the hallmark of this animal, yet not only is it missing from the animation, Pangolian could not convert into a ball even if it wanted to because it doesn’t have the body shape or the pangolin signature long tail.
Honestly, if this dragon was given a different name and had nothing to do with pangolins, I’d like it a hundred times more.
I don’t mind if Deca reuses animations. But please, if you do this, the dragon absolutely, positivity must fit the design and animation. A pangolin dragon with a rolling animation (especially at the Dragon Track) would’ve been perfection in the Vale. Instead, we have an armoured robot dragon with awkwardly short arms that juggles fireballs like a circus performer. What an enormous missed opportunity to pay tribute to one of the most incredible animals on the planet. The pangolin deserves so, so, so much more.
And in addition to all of this, pangolins don’t have anything to do with picnics, except they both start with the letter 'p'.

1. Animation 2/5, hoo boy I've got some stuff to say about this one down below
2. Size (if you don’t own Pangolian, please check a friend’s park) 5/5, literally the only good thing about this dragon
3. Price (13,500 Eggs) 2/5
4. How well does Pangolian fit the theme of the event 2/5, this feels more like it would fit it in a camping event rather than a spring event
5. Rate Pangolian’s design 2/5
6. How would you rate Pangolian’s breeding combo (BRAMBLE + metal + earth) 3/5, they really like putting bramble in combos do they?
7. How much do you like Pangolian (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 3/5
Comments/feedback for Deca I understand if DECA chooses to reuse animations, but if they want to go that route, the animations need to fit the design The fireball animations are cool, but honestly they don't fit this dragon at all (the fireballs should be visible in the dragonarium tbh) Also it's a big missed opportunity that it doesn't have a longer tail like pangolins do in real life as well as there being no roll animation for racing Sorry for sounding harsh, the execution of this dragon was pretty disappointing

1. Animation: 1/5, I'm completely baffled that a dragon based on a pangolin doesn't curl up in a ball. Not only is the animation re-used, I feel like it's completely unfitting; I'm not against repurposing animations by any means, but when it's taking the place of something so obvious and so fun, I have no idea why this is one of the dragons chosen to have no unique animation. Cyclone has a rolling up in a ball animation, re-using that would have been better if an animation had to be copied for time.
2. Size: 3/5.
3. Price (13,500 Eggs): 1/5, way too expensive.
4. How well does Pangolian fit the theme of the event: 1/5, I'm struggling to figure out the link. The description mentions forest fires, which is technically outdoors? Are we picnicking next to a forest fire? :/
5. Rate Pangolian’s design: 2.5/5, I was really excited to get a pangolin dragon because they're so cute and already a little dragon-like with the scales, it seems like it would be a really easy inspiration to translate into a dragon. I had high hopes with the baby because it's so cute, but the adult version isn't particularly dragon-like or pangolin-esque; they're really cute, hunched and have a long snoot, all of this seems to have been lost because it's a reskin. Again, I don't mind the practice on it's own but it feels like a waste of a really good idea.
6. How would you rate Pangolian’s breeding combo (BRAMBLE + metal + earth): 3/5, I like the idea of the brambles forming the spikes.
7. How much do you like Pangolian (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!): 1.5/5, it's not one of my least favourites, and definitely not ugly, but overall the disappointment with the concept has made me like it a lot less than I might've if I didn't think there was way more potential here.

Comments/feedback for Deca It’s such a shame this isn’t a pangolin dragon! DECA, you really missed the boat. The poor pangolins. My sadness and disappointment are immeasurable.
