Deca Games has developed a series of questions to gather feedback from players regarding their new event dragons. To capture an accurate account of players’ assessments, Rate a Dragon threads are created for each new dragon. These threads will be available approximately one to four weeks after a dragon’s release to allow players some time to breed the dragon and admire its fine qualities.
Since Deca asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on, please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utilises to add player-designed dragons into the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed and could result in a ban. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and relevant to the dragon.
The Rate a Dragon threads will remain unlocked until the event concludes on May 8th. At the end of the event, your ratings and comments will be passed on to the Deca DragonVale Team.
Please take a minute to rate the Bountiful Picnic dragons from 1-5 for each category. You can either post your feedback on this thread or message me. Thank you for participating, sharing your thoughts, and making this game even better with each dragon.

Please rate the Melovine dragon on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 = worst, 5 = best). If a rating below 1 or above 5 is given, or if more than one number is provided, the rating will not count.

1. Animation - 5
2. Rift trait - 3
3. Size (if you don’t own Melovine, please check a friend’s park) - 4
4. Price (14,500 Eggs) - 3 - it’d be lower if it didn’t have decent cloning odds since this is only the second limited and it has 5 elements in the mix, so it should really be at least 1k cheaper. I am glad it’s cheaper than Mosser though
5. How well does Melovoine fit the theme of the event - 5
6. Rate Melovine’s design - 4.5
7. How would you rate Melovine’s breeding combo (CLARIVOYANT + plant + water) - 2.5 - I’m guessing Clairvoyant was used because it has an orb, but props alone aren’t a good enough relation when it means 5+ elements will be in the mix. I don’t generally like dragons being added to new events, but in this case I think Plumpkin should’ve been added to this event and used for Melovine alongside water element. It does get half a point back for Clairvoyant being an easy breed
8. How much do you like Melovine (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 4

1. Animation: 5/5, Really fun interactions with it's pumpermelon, showing off the sort of psychic aspect to this dragon, plus a cute walk cycle that's fitting to the design.
2. Rift trait: 3/5, A bit difficult to see. I really like how it uses the vines going around the tail, though.
3. Size: 5/5, Clear enough for all of the detail to be visible.
4. Price (14,500 Eggs): 2/5, Way too expensive for a limited.
5. How well does Melovine fit the theme of the event: 5/5, Heavily food themed and also spring themed with the small floral aspects.
6. Rate Melovine’s design: 3.5/5, Though I think the design being based off of a pumpermelon is super cute, it isn't quite similar enough or different enough to be it's own distinct design, so it looks a little cobbled together somehow. I really like the wing design, but I'm not sure it fits with the rest of it. I think it might have been better to make it into a hidden element dragon and have it more closely resemble a pumpermelon rather than going halfway.
7. How would you rate Melovine’s breeding combo (CLAIRVOYANT + plant + water): 3/5, I honestly didn't understand until reading the description and watching the animations, the pumpermelon is like clairvoyant's crystal ball. Weird connection, but I like the creativity of it a lot.
8. How much do you like Melovine: 3.5, A cute and clever design, but something about the body shape and how the other elements connect doesn't seem to fit to me. Really nice colour palette and adorable little flowers earn it a lot of points!
1. 5/5 Fun animation 2. 3/5 Less isn’t always more 3. 4/5 Feared it would be huge so pleasantly surprised 4. 3/5 Feared it would be overpriced & was right 5. 5/5 A foodie, flowery dragon - perfect fit 6. 4/5 Fits the above description but looks a bit thrown together in the dark 7. 3/5 Seems a little random 8. 4/5 Nice addition
5. How well does Melovine fit the theme of the event : 5
6. Rate Melovine’s design : 5
7. How would you rate Melovine’s breeding combo (CLAIRVOYANT + plant + water) : 3
8. How much do you like Melovine : 4
Comments/feedback for Deca : Melovine has a fun animation mesmerizing the melons and looking upset when they drop it. I like Melovine’s colours and the detail of the vine twirling around the tail. Adding plant and water to Clairvoyant in the breeding combo gives Melovine 5 elements for breeding. This adds a lot of extra fails to the possible outcomes. Clairvoyant seems an odd parent just because it has a crystal ball that it also throws around. Colourwise, Wolper or Florea would have worked as a parent.
1. Animation: 5/5 ABSOLUTELY GREAT! I love the animation, it makes this dragon the BEST from the entire event.
2. Rift trait: 4/5
3. Size (if you don’t own Melovine, please check a friend’s park): 5/5
4. Price (14,500 Eggs): 5/5
5. How well does Melovine fit the theme of the event: 4/5
6. Rate Melovine’s design: 5/5 I love this dragon. The huge size mixed with the delicate wings is hilarious.
7. How would you rate Melovine’s breeding combo (CLAIRVOYANT + plant + water): 5/5
8. How much do you like Melovine (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 5/5
Comments/feedback for Deca I was really happy with this dragon- everything about it, including breeding odds. I hope we see more from whoever designed this one! Adorable! My favorite out of the event. ... in fact, my favorite so far of 2024!

Comments:
This dragon's got a great set of animations! The combination of those cute trunky feet and the delicate yet plodding walk is endearing. I also really like how it looks backwards as it backs up. I also also really like the wing flapping animation.
Very creative design in general. Melovine has a very unique face. The fine anthers and wings are light and airy, and a nice juxtaposition against those stumpy legs and thick tail. This might be one of my favourite upright bipedal Deca dragons. He's adequately dragonish and not humanoid at all!
The trait is a bit hard to make out, but I like the placement. The price is ok, but it does mean it's going up for the coming dragons. :/ Nice size! Thematically, Melovine is kinda hard to place. It fits because it's food, and food people bring to picnics. But melons haven't even started growing here at this time of year, let alone ready to be harvested for picnics. It feels weird and out of place as a result. It's too bad that food related dragons are tough to place into summer events since those events have historically had very different themes. I'd even consider this guy for the fall harvest.
Breading Combo... this one feels really off. Clairvoyant was just used because of the orb, right? Couldn't have used Berry or something more... food inspired as a parent?
Another cute baby and a nice egg. Deca's been pulling off some beautiful eggs recently!
'... overwhelming goodwill, and witty humour, profound grace and compassion blended with the spice of relentless taunts.'
