Spring has sprung, and that means picnic season is in full swing. Not only can you enjoy your lunch with the best seats in the house at a splendid Picnic Table, but four of the greatest wizards in all the land will be joining you. These magical magicians may pop up and quickly disappear in the Vale, but on your profile they will be permanently affixed to ensure year-round enchantment. Simply rate all the Bountiful Picnic dragons before the event concludes on 8 May, and you will have access to the most magical, delectable egg salad sandwiches.
Since we have completed two years of Rate a Dragon, there are now two previous spring awards to offer. Instead of the Picnic Table, you can choose the Cherry Tree from last year’s A Thawsome Spring, or if you prefer dragons over trees, the Clover Dragon from Luck of the Vale. So many options! After you’re done rating the Bountiful Picnic dragons, message me, and the Cherry Tree or the Clover Dragon will be added to your profile instead.
AWARD RULES
1. You must be a Forum member to receive an award because guest profiles are not retained.
2. Awards will display on your Profile page and mini profile. To see the awards, you’ll need to view the Forum in its desktop version since the mobile version does not support many features, including the full mini profile.
3. Awards will be permanent, but if you do not want them or would like them removed, just let me know.
4. If you prefer to not post publicly, you can message me your dragon ratings before the event concludes, and you will still receive the award.
5. Please be aware that awards will be added to your profile up to 12 days after the event concludes, depending on how busy the next event becomes, bug reports, schedules, and real life. Thank you for your patience.

1. Animation - 4.5 - excellent concept; the tail does feel a little stiff though. I think at least it should uncurl when Glider throws an acorn back to collect it

5. Rate Glider’s design - 4 - it feels slightly too realistic compared to most other dragons, but I get that Deca is not “Backflip 2.0” so I try not to let that bother me
6. How would you rate Glider’s breeding combo (ARCRIDER + earth + air + light) - 2 - Arcrider is unnecessary, expensive and has a really long tree. For the most part, this event actually has half-decent odds, but there are only very few dragons that have particularly good odds, so long trees should be avoided as much as possible. I assume Arcrider was chosen because they ride rainbows, but there are plenty of dragons that fly. Wind + earth + plant would have been a much better combo while still giving the same idea and using the same elements. If Deca were desperate to use a limited dragon, Flowerhop is more suitable than Arcrider, especially given the colour scheme

GLIDER DRAGON
1. Animation 5: I like this flying squirrel ( it looks like a distant cousin of Scrat)

Comments/feedback for Deca: Thank you for this fellow who remembers me my travel far from my home to a pretty city, Copperstown (NY) a long long time ago. Iin the park, by the museum, I saw a lot of squirrels, funny little aniamals . I like this kind of little dragons which remember us real animals ( except for the Vipera....)

Comments: The animation is solid, but it bothers me a bit that the tail isn't actively prehensile in order to curl back up around the nut when Glider tosses it back. (But then, I'd probably be saying 'squirrel tails aren't prehensile, Deca! haha ha). With the nut inserted, it really looks like a pastry. I don't know if that was on purpose. I choose to believe it was, given the theme. Glider's got a nice colour pallete. I wish its body was a bit bigger. I get it can't be tooo big, or else its tail would take over the Vale though. I really like the face and fur. Admittedly, the fur is near impossible to see on low rez mode. The baby is a little head-heavy for me, especially given now non-cartoony the adult is. The baby's body sort of blends together and the wings are partially hidden behind the head. Perhaps the shading or line art could have differentiated it a bit more.
That breeding combo is weird. I wouldn't have expected Arcrider to be a parent. Plus there's that family tree. I'm glad there's only one specific parent though. That's... something.
Overall I really like Glider. The egg reminds me of Fred Flintstone's shirt.
** So I selected Glider from my Runic Cave for a traited one and I just have to edit this a tad. I know traiting isn't listed because it's a starter dragon, but let's face it - Deca rarely gets feedback on starter traits. So the traiting is in the wing flaps, middle of the neck and middle strip of tail... I know how I feel about that with the metal trait I selected... I'll be changing that out quickly. Can't say I know what I'll swap it to... light? Earth? Why isn't the traiting down the spots darn it? The wing flap traiting just doesn't work for me.

Comments/feedback for Deca : Nice animation I like how it picks up the acorn and throws it back to store in its tail. Great colours. I like the effect on the belly and underside of the tail that makes it looks furry. The breeding combo is confusing for newer players as it shows that as well as Arcrider a dragon is needed with earth+air+light. Arcrider already contributes all these elements. If you had an Arcrider already, this breeding combo would be OK, but to get to Arcrider you need to breed Wolper, Florea, Cocoahollow, Bilby, Soot, Conifer, Cotton, Plains, Rosebud, Woodvine, Rose, Flower and Willow. Not an easy feat as some of these have challenging odds.

I haven't been able to breed Glider yet, but he's very cute and I love the idea. I didn't see his animation until I clicked on this thread to rate him, and now I MUST have him. He's so adorable! I really adore this cute little guy.
Request: Any way you guys could be a little more creative with the egg designs? Some of them were a little disappointing.
