Thank you so much for supporting DragonVale by submitting your feedback. It is immensely helpful, as it provides the Deca DV Team with player responses and recommendations for the dragon designs. Here’s a repost of some friendly reminders to ensure all ratings are accurate and counted.
1. You can add comments to your ratings, but please double-check and be sure you provided a number to rate the dragon.
2. If the following is submitted:
1. 5 2. 4 3. 3 4. 5 5. 4 6. 5 7. 5
But there are 8 questions (or if 8 ratings are submitted, and there are only 7 questions), the ratings will not count because it’s impossible to tell which rating goes to which category. Using the dragon’s Rate a Dragon template will help avoid this issue, but it’s not a requirement.
3. Please use a number between 1-5 to rate the dragons. Numbers outside this range will be discarded; it will not be calculated in the ratings average.
4. If more than one number is submitted, the rating will not be included.
5. If you change your mind or warm up to a dragon, you can edit your comments or ratings. But if you update your ratings, please inform MinyaZ or LadyJ so they can ensure it is accurately recorded. You must be a member to edit your post because guest profiles are not saved.
6. Deca Games asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on. Please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utilises to add player-designed dragons to the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and related to the dragon.
7. The Rate a Dragon threads will be locked on June 26th, when the event concludes. If you need more time, please message me prior to the deadline.
Many thanks to ladyj , MinyaZ , and samiam for all their work on the Rate a Dragon project! And a huge thank you to everybody for taking the time and providing your feedback on the new dragons. It is greatly appreciated by all!

Comments/feedback for Deca: A mostly great dragon with a fun theme and a lovely design, however the combo is puzzling. Whilst Busby is a bee dragon, it is one that is relatively rare, especially within the Rift - there are already various honey related dragons which would be more fitting and could have been used instead, including Nectar which would actually match elements with Honeybrew.

Comments/feedback for Deca: an interesting take on the Potterverse’s butter beer I guess.

1. Animation - 4.5 - the tail is a little stiff due to its length, but I love cats, so I’ll always love a dragon whose animation reminds me of one (Honeybrew knocks over a fragile glass for no reason — peak cat behaviour right there). I like the balancing the honey jar on its tail as well
2. Size (if you don’t own Honeybrew, please check a friend’s park) - 5
3. Price (10,000 Magic) - 5 - I wish this was more regular!
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event - 2.5 - apparently honey was A Big Thing in medieval times, being one of the most accessible ways to sweeten things, so fair enough, but I’m not really sure of the relation beyond that
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design - 2 - I like the colours but that’s pretty much it. The tail is too long and looks stiff as a result, and the feet look off
6. How would you rate Honeybrew’s breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light) - 2 - if a player didn’t manage to get the right Chrysalis dragons last event, they won’t be able to obtain Busby just by themselves without wishes or lucky EoMs. Traited versions of Chrysalis dragons are even more of a pain to get. Busby needs to be added to this event and its gift. And it seems Busby was chosen for the sake of difficulty because there are some really obvious better choices. This should’ve been something like Nectar + plant, Nectar + Flower or Nectar + Flowerhop if you wanted a bee dragon (Flowerhop would’ve had to have been added to this event though)
7. How much do you like Honeybrew (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 3
Comments/feedback for Deca: Please do not use this dragon in a combo next year unless you add Busby to this event and the gift. Going forward, please never use Chrysalis dragons in combos for non-Chrysalis dragons unless it’s part of the spring event. If you must do, add the Chrysalis dragon to the event and the gift, because it’s the only reasonable way to obtain them if you don’t have the right dragons to breed it.
2. Size (if you don’t own Honeybrew, please check a friend’s park) 5/5
3. Price (10,000 Magic) 4/5
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event 5/5
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design 5/5
6. How would you rate Honeybrew’s breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light) 3/5 To repeat what someone else said: Nectar would have been a much more appropriate choice than this Chrysalis dragon.
7. How much do you like Honeybrew (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 5/5
Comments/feedback for Deca: LOL #3 Loss of Libation
2 - A bit of an overuse of squash and stretch, it makes the dragon look rubbery rather than fluid.
2. Size (if you don’t own Honeybrew, please check a friend’s park)
4 - A tiny bit on the small side.
3. Price (10,000 Magic)
5 - For an unbreedable, makes sense.
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event
2 - The word "brew" in its name is the only thing screaming "MEDIEVAL" to me about this dragon. Would fit better in a cereal themed event or something.
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design
3 - Not too egregiously off-style but just realistic enough to look a bit out of place.
6. How would you rate Honeybrew’s breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light)
5 - I actually really like the use of dragons from other events as parts of breeding combos and I like when dragons that are typically reserved for inter-elemental breeding (Chrysalis, Ornamental, Snowflake, Monolith, etc.) are used for dragons outside those elements.
7. How much do you like Honeybrew (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!)
3 - It's alright.
Comments/feedback for Deca
Please use Chrysalis element dragons for more off-season breeding combos in the future! And other dragons from typically seasonal elements as well!
1. 5/5 It’s flipping a jar of honey - what’s not to love? 2. 4/5 Pleasantly on the smallish side 3. 5/5 Some of the prices with this event are spot on. It’s a little disconcerting 4. 4/5 Medieval, brewing & honey ✔️ 5. 4/5 Love the colour, love the tail but there’s something a bit awkward with it 6. 2/5 I totally get why Busby is in the mix but still 7. 4/5 A nice enough addition
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event: 5
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design: 4
6. How would you rate Honeybrew’s breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light): 2
7. How much do you like Honeybrew: 3.5
Comments/feedback for Deca: Nice animation juggling with the honey pot and it looks like Honeybrew is covered in sticky honey. Great fit for the theme – in medieval times there was a lot of mead made. Honeybrew looks 'chunkier’ on the loading screen not so long and skinny. It almost seems out of proportion. Maybe the head is too small? Sorry, this is an awful breeding combo. It contributes six elements. When is available to be bred, there are going to be ~ 70 dragons as fails. There are plenty of other dragons that would have been more suitable than Busby; Nectar is the obvious one. Next year Game Reps are going to request that Busby is added to the event so that players can buy Busby to try and breed Honeybrew. There are already so many dragons in each event without adding extra dragons from other events.
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event: 5
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design: 5
6. How would you rate Honeybrew’s breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light): 3
7. How much do you like Honeybrew: 4
Comments/feedback for Deca: It has nice animation and design. I like the white mane and fur down its back (although I can’t quite tell if they are indeed mane and fur or beer froth 🤣). I understand the choice for Busby as a parent, but it is not easy to breed, especially for new players. It is a third generation Chrysalis, with parents Lacewing and Marbletail. They are also dependent on each other to breed. So very complicated.

HONEYBREW DRAGON
1. Animation 5. I love honey…
2. Size (if you don’t own Honeybrew, please check a friend’s park) 4
3. Price (10,000 Magic) 3…
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event 5 honey held an important place in the medieval pharmacopoeia or in kitchens. And I like seeing a dragon juggling like in a medieval fair…
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design 5
6. How would you rate Honeybrew’s breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light) 2 not very easy for a lot of players
7. How much do you like Honeybrew (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 5

1. Animation: 3/5, Fun honey bottle mechanic, but the rest of its animations seem sort of stiff and unnatural.
2. Size: 2/5
3. Price (10,000 Magic): 3/5, cheaper than usual.
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event: 5/5
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design: 2/5, not particularly interesting, or related to its own theme at all. It resembles a lion, vaguely? Nice glowing colour scheme though, definitely evokes honey.
6. Breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light): 3/5, Difficult, but a cute idea for a honey dragon with busby acting like a "bee". Weird that the nectar dragon wasn't involved specifically instead though.
7. How much do you like Honeybrew: 1/5, Honestly if this one was just about a honey tasting dragon, I'd like it a lot more, but it being specifically mentioned to drink mead is... so weird. Alcohol dragon is just odd, it's not like they couldn't have just made up a similar honey spice drink. It's like having a wine tasting dragon kicking around a grape, it feels weirdly uncharacteristic. I think the idea of a dragon with a sophisticated palate for just one thing is a fun worldbuilding concept and one that could easily be adapted to lots of foods/drinks, the implication being that they could be testers for cooks/brewers.
2. Size (if you don’t own Honeybrew, please check a friend’s park) 5
3. Price (10,000 Magic) 5
4. How well does Honeybrew fit the theme of the event 5
5. Rate Honeybrew’s design 4 looks a lot like Cotton
6. How would you rate Honeybrew’s breeding combo (BUSBY + water + light) 5
7. How much do you like Honeybrew (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 4.5 4
