Celebrate this monumental occasion with The Anniversary Contest, brought to you by Deca Games, The DragonVale Lair, and the DragonVale Community Forum.
The Anniversary Contest is based on the DV mini-game, Name That Egg, and it will challenge players’ egg knowledge. The five contestants who correctly identify the most eggs in a row will win gems from Deca Games!
To enter the contest, please go to the DV Lair, create or log into your account, and you’re ready to play. The leaderboard will maintain everybody’s scores. After the contest concludes on Thursday, September 19th at 14:00 UTC, Deca will award gems to the top five Friend IDs on the leaderboard. G’luck!
• 1st place = 150 gems • 2nd place = 125 gems • 3rd place = 100 gems • 4th place = 75 gems • 5th place = 50 gems
In addition to gems, Forum members will win an animated confetti background (please see the profiles of MinyaZ, LadyJ, Worms, Obijuan, and adlerist) and the title 'The Anniversary Contest Winner' for a month. But that’s not all, a brand new contest for DragonVale’s biggest day, calls for a brand new prize!Winners can select a Rate a Dragon award to be permanently added to their profile! We have never offered the RAD awards for contest prizes, but RAD has run for over three years, and it’s understandable that players may have missed rating some of the dragons or started later. So, we would like to give members a chance to obtain a previous award and encourage everyone to play The Anniversary Contest.

OMG, those scores are crazy for the first day! They will be well over a thousand by next week! I think 1,300 is very possible.
I will definitely enter the contest. I’m not going to get a top score lol. But it’s still really fun to play! I don’t feel like I have to win. It’s just nice to be a part of something with a lot of other DV players. 🥰

A couple days ago the dvlair contest page was adjusted to prevent lag from ending the game. It is certainly better than before, but I am still frequently finding myself lagged out, which prevents me from getting a better score.

If this didn't happen I'd have 1000 by now
406 is a great score. But to say you would’ve reached 1,000 points is a bit presumptuous. If you had 998 points, then it’s certainly fair to say you could’ve achieved 1,000. However, you’re not halfway there, and a lot could happen in 600 guesses, like selecting the wrong egg.
But I understand your frustration at losing a streak due to a lag. As I mentioned on Discord the other day, Fluffy Ostrich is aware that players are still experiencing these issues, and they have raised the buffer again, so it should help.
Contestants have said when they play the game on their PC, lags are greatly minimised. So, if you and others can switch to a computer, it may be a smoother ride.

A brief update from the contest...
By Saturday morning, less than two days after the contest started, Squish-E became the first player to reach phenomenal quadruple digits by guessing 1,207 eggs in a row! Usagi and Rainedeer also surged in the leaderboard to second and third place with eye-watering scores of 875 and 830, respectively.
Squish-E held the top spot for the rest of the weekend... until Monday night when Kliesen scored an unbelievably spectacular 1,419 points! Imagine guessing over 1,400 eggs in a row! 🤯 Oromochi also had a sensational run of 1,157 — wow!
But the week was young. Yesterday, Citroosz joined the contest and instantly flew up the leaderboard with 1,380 points! (And to think, they almost didn't enter because they did not believe they were good at Name That Egg — they’re amazing!)
The contest is still going strong! Will Kliesen hold on to first place? Will a dark horse unexpectedly join at the last moment and take the prize? Will it be you?

Oromochi overtook Kliesen with a breathtaking score of 1426 to top the leaderboard!
The night was fuelled with duels and competition as players bested their best scores and looked to topple those at the top. Eventually, sleep beckoned the players, and the final egg runs were fierce and ambitious. But in the end, it was the remarkable Kliesen who reigned and regained their status as The Anniversary Contest champion and Eggstrodinary Egg Master! Superbly stunning!

Fluffy Ostrich, those are incredible numbers! I can’t believe there were 6,346 games played. I love all the stats, like the longest games played and the most number of games. Those players were troopers!

Heehee, I will admit that I am one of those who had gotten 0 points in a few games, and had been frequently stumped by Cancsian and some of the galaxy dragons. 🫢..It was a fun yet sometimes challenging game which can become quite addictive.
