Deca Games has developed a series of questions to gather feedback from players regarding their new event dragons. To capture an accurate account of players’ assessments, Rate a Dragon threads are created for each new dragon. These threads will be available approximately one to four weeks after a dragon’s release to allow players some time to breed the dragon and admire its fine qualities.
Since Deca asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on, please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utilises to add player-designed dragons into the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed and could result in a ban. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and relevant to the dragon.
The Rate a Dragon threads will remain unlocked until the event concludes on November 27th. At the end of the event, your ratings and comments will be passed on to the Deca DragonVale Team.
Please take a minute to rate the Nights of Frights dragons from 1-5 for each category. You can either post your feedback on this thread or message me. Thank you for participating, sharing your thoughts, and making this game even better with each dragon.

7. How would you rate Dracomancy’s breeding combo (BONE + SCOURGE)-4

DRACOMANCY DRAGON 1. 4 2. 3 3. 3 4. 1 (the initial dragon price is good but after that it gets expensive with evolving ) 5. 5 6. 3 7. 3 8. 1 (not a fan of evolved dragons) 9. 2
1. Animation5. Reminds me of an excited puppy.. with a back flip
2. Rift trait5
3. Size (if you don’t own Dracomancy, please check a friend’s park)5
4. Rate Dracomancy’s price (18,000 Candy) (Dracomancy1 = 1,000 Candy, Dracomancy2 = 1,250 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy3 = 1,750 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy4 = 12,000 Candy to evolve, Ominous Digsite = 2,000 Candy)5. (Nice to have a use for all the excess candy, instead of buying and selling pedestals.
5. How well does Dracomancy fit the theme of the event 5
6. Rate Dracomancy’s design 5
7. How would you rate Dracomancy’s breeding combo (BONE + SCOURGE)5

2. Rift trait 4
3. Size (if you don’t own Dracomancy, please check a friend’s park) 4
4. Rate Dracomancy’s price (18,000 Candy) (Dracomancy1 = 1,000 Candy, Dracomancy2 = 1,250 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy3 = 1,750 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy4 = 12,000 Candy to evolve, Ominous Digsite = 2,000 Candy) 1, the digsite as a gift, with an in-game explainer for how it relates to Dracomancy, would have made more sense
5. How well does Dracomancy fit the theme of the event 4
6. Rate Dracomancy’s design 4
7. How would you rate Dracomancy’s breeding combo (BONE + SCOURGE) 2, I like the choices in a logical story sense, but Scourge is a brutal and mean choice
8. How would you rate Dracomancy’s evolution process 1, no in game explanation, very confusing, why are there 4 stages? hate it
9. How much do you like Dracomancy (1 = hate it, 5 = I love it) 3
Animation: 5/5 Dracomancy's animation certainly reflects its presence as an ancient evil of the Vale.
Trait: 5/5 The trait placement is phenomenal.
Size: 5/5 Although huge, Dracomancy is one of the few dragons which is an exception. When I think of an ancient evil, I think of a towering, imposing beast of a dragon capable of mass horror and destruction; exactly what Dracomancy is.
Price: 1/5 The minimum price to obtain Dracomancy 4 is 17,000 EC - 2,000 for the Digsite, 1,250 to evolve into Dracomancy 2, 1,750 to evolve to Dracomancy 3, and a whopping 12,000 event currency to fully evolve into Dracomancy 4. Considering that the evolutions cannot be bred, the sole way of obtaining Dracomancy's final form is to spend multiple weeks of hard-earned event currency.
Theme: 5/5 You really think this needs an explanation?
Design: 5/5 The concept behind Dracomancy's design is excellent and well-thought out.
Combo: 1/5 Scourge is a rather mean choice for a dragon in which breeding only saves you 1,000 EC. It also makes obtaining a rifted one an absolute nightmare.
Evolution: 1/5 The concept behind Dracomancy is excellent but poorly executed. With multiple fixes needing to be made to the Digsite, egg, and dragon itself, Dracomancy is exceedingly confusing to evolve for no apparent reason. No wonder the description mentions that "your memory of it and the steps you took to summon this abomination are gone" - it's not because evolving the dragon wiped your memory, but because players would rather forget the painful process of this dragon's evolution.
Preference: 5/5 Despite Dracomancy's major flaws, the final evolution takes a coveted spot in one of my favorites.
Comments: You already know what I am going to say about there being 30 apocalypse dragons now and no giant habitat...

DRACOMANCY DRAGON
1. Animation 5: beautiful « bony » guy
2. Rift trait 5: beautiful traited one. Fire trait must be great. But I don’t own any….
3. Size (if you don’t own Dracomancy, please check a friend’s park) 5
4. Rate Dracomancy’s price (18,000 Candy) (Dracomancy1 = 1,000 Candy, Dracomancy2 = 1,250 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy3 = 1,750 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy4 = 12,000 Candy to evolve, Ominous Digsite = 2,000 Candy) 1 pfffff the idea was good… but why from 1,750´directly to 12,000??
5. How well does Dracomancy fit the theme of the event 5: this fellow haunted my nights!
6. Rate Dracomancy’s design 5
7. How would you rate Dracomancy’s breeding combo (BONE + SCOURGE) 1
8. How would you rate Dracomancy’s evolution process 1 : Well how to say? Iit’s too expansive! Too complicate. Thanks to the forum and the staff!!!!!
9. How much do you like Dracomancy (1 = hate it, 5 = I love it) 4
3. Size (if you don’t own Dracomancy, please check a friend’s park) 5
4. Rate Dracomancy’s price (18,000 Candy) (Dracomancy1 = 1,000 Candy, Dracomancy2 = 1,250 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy3 = 1,750 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy4 = 12,000 Candy to evolve, Ominous Digsite = 2,000 Candy) 3 I don't usually complain about prices because there's always the option to breed, you don't HAVE to buy. But in this case, even if you breed Dragomancy1, you have to pay to evolve to Dragomancy 4, at least once in the regular park, and then once again in the rift if you collect rift dragons. So that's mandatory 34,000 for Dragomancy 4 PLUS the difficulty of breeding is mandatory in the rift since you can't buy a rift one at all. So altogether it seems like too much, with no other options.
5. How well does Dracomancy fit the theme of the event 5
6. Rate Dracomancy’s design 5
7. How would you rate Dracomancy’s breeding combo (BONE + SCOURGE) 4 appropriate but very difficult
8. How would you rate Dracomancy’s evolution process I like the concept and the dig site, but it's too expensive (see above)
9. How much do you like Dracomancy (1 = hate it, 5 = I love it) 5
1. 5/5 It’s very animated & I like that 2. 5/5 Fabulous placement 3. 5/5 Huge but suits its size 4. 1/5 A frightening price (how apt) 5. 5/5 A perfect fit 6. 5/5 It’s Bone on steroids (particularly like versions II & III) 7. 5/5 Has to be top marks because they look the part 8. 1/5 Initially I thought it was too straightforward (& a bit boring), how wrong I was! 9. 4/5 Knocking a mark off for the price & the process

1. Animation: 2/5, the flickering flames and especially the fire being left behind as footprints are absolutely lovely, but the rest of the animations are generic at best, and ridiculous at worst. This dragon did a great job of being built up as particularly foreboding and evil, which is undercut by animations like the ballet-resemblant tiptoeing... I genuinely preferred this dragon's animations when it was an ominously swirling collection of parts, it gave a very strange and (literally) unhinged aura to the dragon.
2. Rift trait: 5/5, Perfect combination of subtle and incorporated into the existing design!
3. Size: 3/5, A little small for such an ominous dragon, but I understand it has to coincide somewhat with the digsite.
4. Rate Dracomancy’s price (18,000 Candy) (Dracomancy1 = 1,000 Candy, Dracomancy2 = 1,250 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy3 = 1,750 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy4 = 12,000 Candy to evolve, Ominous Digsite = 2,000 Candy): 1/5, Very, very expensive.
5. How well does Dracomancy fit the theme of the event: 5/5, I loved how creepy the setup was! A really fitting Halloween dragon and evolution gimmick in my opinion.
6. Rate Dracomancy’s design: 5/5, a lovely colour scheme combined with the really unique concept of the dragon only coming to life in parts made this one of my favourite designs of the event!
7. How would you rate Dracomancy’s breeding combo (BONE + SCOURGE): 3/5, Both are fitting, Bone especially, but it seems quite difficult.
8. How would you rate Dracomancy’s evolution process: 5/5, A little confusing, but I love the idea of gradually unearthing some ancient evil and watching the dragon get more and more formed. I definitely prefer it to collecting the 10 ornaments, it adds an extra level of story in the descriptions of both the digsite and the dragon, and feels much more connected and creative as a result.
9. How much do you like Dracomancy: 4/5, I loved watching the development of this dragon and love the gimmick of it slowly returning to life as you unknowingly perform some ancient resurrection ritual. I love the super creepy and glitched descriptions of the digsite, and I wish the dragon's animations helped to maintain it as the ominous cursed necromancy dragon it was set up to be.

1. Animation 5/5
2. Rift trait 4/5
3. Size (if you don’t own Dracomancy, please check a friend’s park) 5/5
4. Rate Dracomancy’s price (18,000 Candy) (Dracomancy1 = 1,000 Candy, Dracomancy2 = 1,250 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy3 = 1,750 Candy to evolve, Dracomancy4 = 12,000 Candy to evolve, Ominous Digsite = 2,000 Candy) 1/5, while I do like some aspects of the cost (the first stage and the digsite being relatively cheap) it's very expensive. Also the sudden price jump from stage 3 to stage 4 is pretty yikes
5. How well does Dracomancy fit the theme of the event 5/5

7. How would you rate Dracomancy’s breeding combo (BONE + SCOURGE) 3/5

9. How much do you like Dracomancy (1 = hate it, 5 = I love it) 5/5

8. How would you rate Dracomancy’s evolution process: 2

Comments/feedback for Deca: I really like Dracomancy 4, he has great animations, nice colouring and the tatty wings are great. That he leaves footprints when he walks is fabulous. And wow, does he look scary! He’s a bit big as he overwhelms a Spooky Habitat. The breeding combo is awful, especially when you consider that you’re not just breeding one (or two) of these in eleven days. A player could buy the first and second Dracomancy in the Vale to get a head start and avoid breeding it, but in the Rift the dragon had to be bred – twice. Then it, and the variants, had to be cloned multiple times to get enough traited versions to ‘evolve’ to Dracomancy 4. Does anyone at Deca play in the Rift? This was a mission and a half.
I liked the idea of ‘building a dragon’ and having to upgrade the Digsite to obtain Dracomancy. But the reality is that it was too complicated. There were too many steps required both with upgrading the digsite multiple times and also evolving Dracomancy several times. A player that doesn’t read social media sites would struggle with what was required as it wasn’t that clear in game. The evolution costs were too expensive. This would have been better built into the digsite clearing costs so that the evolution cost was reasonable. Players weren’t evolving a dragon they were purchasing a dragon. They had no choice; if they wanted a Dracomancy 4, they had to pay 15,000 EC to fully evolve Draco 1, 2 & 3. (This excludes the cost of the Digsite). For players that also wanted one or two Rift versions, apart from the challenge of breeding Dracomancy 1 with the breeding combo, they also had to pay 15,000 EC for each dragon. Not evolving – purchasing. I prefer to have the challenge of breeding dragons, not purchasing them.
