I collected the pieces of the Time Dragon in less than a week, much faster than a lot of the other dragons I have bred (no Emerald after more than 2 weeks of trying) so all in all it has not been that much of a hardship for me. I didn't spend any gems, and I haven't spent that much time racing. And I know quite a few others beat me to the punch.
So tell me where you are at. And don't forget to change your vote as you progress in the quest.
I was able to get it a few days ago. I didn't spend any gems either but I did spin the wheel a lot. I got mine before all the changes. I play the race track anyway for food and gems but trying to get the pieces was a bit more frustrating. Cuz I felt like I HAD to play as opposed to wanting to play.
I didn't like the process, but I have it. I think the racing gimmick was the wrong way to go. I don't disapprove of challenge or hard work, and so I look forward to the wizards at BFS to come up with a more meaningful way to bring us the next legendary dragon.
I am still working on the claw and working on the claw and working on the claw. Missing that last piece. Getting lots and lots of fragments I already have, way too much XP, and plenty of food. I'm sure I'll be happy for the extra food if I ever get back to the shrine grind. I actually like always having more accomplishments to achieve so I don't mind that my shrine grind has stalled out. But, the game is sucking more time than I'd like lately as I try and try to get that last elusive claw piece before moving on to the statute.
I'm in the same situation as you Corey. I am missing that last claw piece. As soon as a duplicate piece comes on the wheel and I get a bonus spin, I figure the racetrack is telling me to take a break for a few hours. So, I probably haven't put in anywhere near the time spinning that other, more successful players have, which explains my very slow progress!

I was lucky enough to complete the three within 3 days. I did use 600 gems and ran out so the last piece took well over 100 races. Now I am helping both kids complete theirs - keep telling them to be patient and it will eventually happen.
Now to rebuild my gem stash. I have 15 game center ID's and I tell ya I do it for the kids (me included) and it is a royal pain logging in logging out, launch game send gems, quit game, hard quit game, log out, log in, launch game....... Ahhhhhh - well its free ;D ;D

I was inspired by so many people having it already, so I spun for about two hours total. I got the pieces for the first thingie, but now I need a break from racetracking so I don't hate the game too much. Mark me down for having this by jul!

I'm still working on the claw I only have two pieces left and they don't show up on the wheel most of the time or I land on pieces that I already have....T^T

I completed the quest with minimal effort. I mentioned this on another string but getting this incredible legendary dragon was much too easy.....like Fletch said many of my other dragons were harder to get. I still don't have a rainbow and a few others like plasma and I am level 39. A legendary dragon should have taken a legendary effort......I sort of feel cheated in that this dragon was handed to us instead of earned. I would of preferred a .1% chance of breeding it or very low wheel percentages. It should have been an honor to have earned it that only the most dedicated could get...kind of felt like BFS caved in, but they will pay for it in the long run...

I agree with you, but it would have had to involve more than just spinning that wheel over & over again. Perhaps a combination of "quests/goals", somewhat like the goals we have at the beginning. I'm not creative enough to even come up with an example, but the folks here & at BFS certainly are. Hopefully, the next dragon will require more ( but NOT more racing!)

koala that was the hardest for most all of us. That piece took me 88 spins
This has easily been the hardest and most frustrating time for me on Dragonvale, because my iPad just does not like the Races - crash after crash after crash. I bought the last couple of Chronolith pieces in desperation, then had a fairly good run on the Dragon Claw until the last 2 pieces which just wouldn't come up for days, then got them both within a few hours. Now on the statue, but it's slow. I really don't think I will ever want to see another race after this!

I am sorry to hear that. It would certainly add a whole other level of frustration dealing with the crashing.
