Incoming Transmission - Issue #1 - November 1, 2012 Welcome to the inaugural issue of Incoming Transmission. This is the forum eZine with all the information pertaining to Backflip Studios new game, Gizmonauts. New issues will be out as BFS releases new elements in the game. For the moment though, there's plenty to catch up on. Fletch

Gizmonauts DragonVale has been invaded by Robots!!! Well, not really, but BFS has released a new breeding game that is very similar to our beloved DV which has us breeding robots in place of dragons, not in a cave or island, but instead in a breeding lab. Robots don't live in habitats, they live in zones. They eat snax instead of treats. The game consists of a lot of the things we love about DV, with just enough differences to keep us engaged in both. Forum Update Our illustrious benefactor, Poppy, suggested it was time to refurb the forum to make it a little more user friendly and easier to find what you need. The very next day Gizmonauts was released and it soon became apparent that it would need its very own section of boards. The changes to the DV side will be summarised in the next issue of its eZine (which had also been given a name since the last issue ... happenstance is a funny thing) but the 'Nauts changes are as follows. Robo-Market New Section created to hold all the Gizmonaut related business. Space Station Link Here Holds all the current Gizmonaut chatter. This will possibly be split into separate boards like DV has been when the thread count gets high enough. The Threads are: Gizmonauts Tips and Tricks The original Gizmonauts thread, renamed and moved to its new location. Gizmonauts Tips for Beginners This will be the repository of all information related to the game as we learn it and will eventually be moved to the Crashed Rocket. Gizmonaut Rare Breeding Guide Which at this stage of the game is just 'The Breeding Guide'. It contains info on Astro Bot, Frankenbot and all the regular Hybrids. The Performance Zone The place for all Gizmonaut related writing, drawing and Guided Tours of your Space Station. Frankenbot "Originally created after a great heartbreak, this bot was created by the master inventor, Meredith Shelly. Unfortunately it ended up being more frightening than comforting, It's a good thing some people enjoy getting scared!" The first limited bot has been released to coincide with Halloween. It is a Builder/Performer hybrid and can be made with any combination that includes those two elements. It was released with 3 limited decorations: Zombot Grave, House of Haunts and the Screaming Tree. Frankenbot disappears from our Space Stations on November 12th, and its decorations will probably be going as well. Make sure you get yours now.

Astrobot! "Marvin the Bot Creator was a master at his trade, and the Astro Bot is his masterpiece. When it's not busy impressing visitors by flying around your outpost, it is buys creating ... well, were not quite sure what it makes. This impressive bot might be hard to create, but the effort is more than worth it!" The first Rare Bot in Gizmonauts is the Astro Bot. It's available at Level 9, incubates for 48 hours and has a Level 1 earn rate of 40 coin/min. This is the bot to aim for at the moment. At this point we are unsure of the breeding criteria. It becomes available at Level 9 when the Nature Bot is released, so it seems likely that it is required to make it. Other than that all we can tell you is that the only confirmed combination at this point is Grinder + Mole. Koala.

Incoming Transmission - Issue #2 - December 10, 2012 Seems to have been a bit of a wait, but there is finally a new bot available for your Outpost. Not that we've been sitting idly by ... We have been keenly putting together information about the game. We have a Baby bot chart and a Battle Arena chart and quite a lot of other info in our Sum of All Knowledge thread. But it is good to have had an update and new releases in the last few days. All the changes in Gizmonauts since the last issue are below. Fletch

Yeti Bot "The Yeti Bot was invented to help assist scientists in the harsh environment found on the planet Whoth. Sadly the cold proved to be too much for even these sturdy bots, and they had some issues with short-circuiting which caused rather erratic behavior and their arms to fall off." A limited winter bot has been added to our Outposts with the arrival of the Yeti. There is no word on how long it will be available yet, but we think you have at least until Christmas. It has a 21 hour Incubate time, sells for 30 000 Robux and earns you 30 000 XP when you deploy it. It is a Nature/Miner hybrid and can be made with any combination that includes those two elements, though if you just use the Pure elements your fails are Mole (18 hours) and Caterpillar (24 hours). We recommend adding Builder and Performer to the mix to help lower the average fail to 8 hours 48 mins. Grinder/Carrier + Harvester/Flower or Mole/Caterpillar + Hammer/Beat are good combinations. Limited Decorations It was released with 9, count them, 9 limited decorations: North Pole, Sandakloz's Presents, Snowy Evergreen, Holiday Lights, The Lime-Green Lantern, Permafrosty the Snowman, Snow Crystal, Holiday Tree and Toy Rocket, another great animated decoration that fills up and blasts off to help Sandakloz deliver presents to the galaxy. Limited Gizmos There is also a swag of holiday gizmos: Builder Bot - Candy Cane (Charge Speed+++), Magnet - Mistletoe, Grinder - Wreath, Science - Sandakloz Hat (10% Robux), Bouncer - Mittens (Armor++, Pierce++), Trainer - Elf Shoes (Melee+++, Speed+++), Floodlight - Holiday Bulb, Aloe - Festive Tree (10% Robux) Join us in the Tips and Tricks Thread to check everyones luck acquiring this new bot and the new swag before they leave our Outpost.

Update 1.1.0 An update has been released to add a few things to your Outpost. They include Tips have been added to the load screen Custom Avatars have been added that you can earn by completing goals Changes to menu animations Changes to Push Notifications to alert you when your Battle Arena is ready and the instant someone gifts you a Crystal Invite friends from Twitter Program changes to the Battle Arena, making Grinder with Red Disc less of a be-ast in fights. And most importantly, your AstroBot can now battle, meaning the highest earning bot in your outpost can now double his output. Come by the forum to see what everyone makes of these changes.

Incoming Transmission - Issue #3 - January 24, 2013 Yeti and the Christmas decorations/gizmos have left our Outposts and have made way for a new rare Bot for us all to scurry after. This means we all have a new challenge in our favourite space bot game, and there is a new Last Man Standing comp underway. Fletch

Steam Bot "One would think that the Steam Bot is an incredibly efficient machine since it runs on one of the most precious resources in the universe. Sadly this is not the case, but it sure looks cool! Or is it hot...It's probably best to stay away from its vents either way." Available at Level 9, this bot has a 48 hour breed time and sells for 200 000 Robux. We are not sure on the specifics of breeding it yet, but we have a confirmed combination of Grinder + Flower. There will be more info in the forum as we get more knowledge about this bot. Associated Decoration - Boiler The Boiler may look incredibly hot because of the constant stream of steam it emits, but we have it on good authority that it's probably pretty safe to place in your outpost. Maybe it should be kept away from populated areas... just in case. Available for 100 000 Robux, this decoration is 3x3 and animated in the same style as the Steam Zone. Incoming Transmission - Issue #4 - February 8, 2013 And the Bot to celebrate Valentines Day has arrived in our Outpost, along with a couple of decorations. No gizmos for other bots, which is a bit disappointing, but they have retooled the pods to make them a bit more obvious and much better looking. Fletch

Cupid Bot "The Cupid Bot seems to have one function - to make people fall in love. Unfortunately it seems to think that shooting them with arrows is the way to make them fall in love. We're not sure it works that way, but the Cupid Bot certainly has a way with words...and arrows." This is a Repair/Science Hybrid, and as such is available at Level 16. It has a 14 hour breed time and earns/sells for 60 000 XP/Robux. We have a confirmation that breeding the two pure elements will make one, so it seems likely any combination that has those two elements will work. We recommend adding Builder to the mix for the shortest average fail times. Builder/Safety/Welder/Magnet/Grav + Microscope/X-Ray, Science + Safety/Welder or Repair + Magnet/Grav are all good choices, and use 2 hybrids or one pure element depending on whether you are still trying for Astro or not. Associated Decorations - Animatronic Bear & Heart Air Balloon It appears no gizmos have been added to the game but there are two decorations to add. The Balloon is the most expensive at 500k Robux, and a 4x4 footprint, with 300k and 3x3 for the Bear. Two nice additions to help prepare your Outpost for Feb 14th. Incoming Transmission - Issue #5 - March 8, 2013 And the Bot to celebrate St.Patricks Day has arrived in our Outpost, along with 3 new decorations and 5 limited gizmos for our othet bots. Luck Bot "The mischievous Luck Bot can be found roaming outposts throughout the universe, and playing tricks on their visitors. Still, Luck Bots are one of the rarest of them all, and getting one is sure to make people flock to your outpost! Just be sure that they check their pockets before they leave." A Nature/Mining Hybrid, this bot is available from Level 9, has an incubation time of 7 hours, and can be bought for 77 crystals. It seems that any combo with those two elements will do the trick. We recommend adding Builder to shorten the fail time so Builder/Grinder/Carrier + Caterpillar/Mole/Yeti or Nature + Grinder/Carrier. Note, using Grinder + Nature will give you Steam as a possible fail and using Grinder + Nature Hybrid will give you Steam AND Astro as possible fails. Decorations and Gizmos 3 Decorations are also available for a limited time, El Dorado Gold: 3x3 deco worth 5000 Robux, Clover Field: 2x2 deco worth 500 Robux, and Lucky Hat: 2x2 deco worth 50 000 Robux. They all appear to be static decorations. 5 Limited Gizmos are also available to be bought, uncovered or won. Rabbit's Foot for your Repair Bot, Emerald Drill for your Caterpillar, Gold Drill for your Mining Bot, Golden Cauldron for your Solar and a Shamrock Sign for your Safety.
