Haters gotta hate. I wish I wasn't stuck with no other option but to type on my iPhone. I sure do imagine that the nice, bright, large screen would be so much easier. It's like a magical dream picturing the years of eyesight if have from not having to squint my eyes so much. But you know what? If it means losing my sight to be able to communicate with you great folks, then that's a risk I'd take any day. Why you may ask? Because you can't a price on the quality, loyal, friendships we have here. But, if I'd have to estimate the worth, I'd put it right at an iPad. After all, they say the greatest gift of all is giving.

My shrines are as follow: Plant 13/50 Earth 39/50 Cold 9/50 Metal 19/50 Water 31/50 Air 40/50 Lightning 19/50 Fire is already gold.

11 Paper and 31 Magnetic leaves
26 Plant 30 Cold 19 Water 10 Air
13 Lichen and 13 Seaweed leaves
17 Cold 6 Water 10 Air
10 Snow and 7 Ice/Iceberg will finish things off.
31 Magnetic 13 Lichen 13 Seaweed 11 Paper 10 Snow 7 Ice/Iceberg
My remaining shrines tell me that I need: Lightning 22 Metal 29 Water 16 Plant 14 Cold 18 Air 24
Okay, so 18 Storm, 24 Chrome and 14 Seaweed will leave

For 4 Magnetic and 2 Rust to finish off. So

Thanks, all of you who commented with hugs and good wishes, on my knotheaded daughter. Yeah, grown, adult offspring can be a pain in the ***. This one has always made me work a whole lot harder at being a decent parent than I wanted; the granddaughter, on the other hand, is a positive delight, but has always been 3000 miles away.
I'm a young granny married to a young granddad. We have pretty good relationships forged with the g-kiddie, and she knows we are the most stable people in her life. We have plenty of time to tough this out until her mother comes around.
In the meantime, there's DragonVale and you sweet, sweet people. <big smile>

I'm just starting to grind away on gold shrines slowly after reaching silver shrines on all bar metal. I still need a lot of standard dragons, so I'm only starting to figure out what I need to use as grinding dragon types.
I have no Panalongs, so I'm focusing on Paper dragons for the moment.
If I grind Paper, is it worth trying to breed Panalongs for grinding? I guess I only need Metal, Lightening, Water and Wind, so should I stick with Sonic and Quicksilver, for example?

If you have no other 3 element dragons, than yes, 2 more pairs is the way to go. Fog/Rain + Magnetic will have the shortest average breed times for the majority of them.
Sorry Fletch, but what do you mean by three element dragons?
No need to be sorry. I mean a hybrid with 3 elements, in the same way that Paper and Panlong have 4. Panlong and Bloom together cover 7 of the 8 elements so using them is the most efficient way.

#3. No silver shrines. No bloom or clover, or any limited dragon that was available before the end of May. I started this DV when the gem dragon was introduced and got the emerald. This is my luckiest DV except for seasonal and platinum... Also, as I have much luck breeding and the use of level 4 dragons, I rarely leveled up to 10. Very randomly.
Okay, Let's start with Paper ... 25 I reckon. Leaves.
20 Air 7 Metal 36 Lightning 11 Cold 12 Plant 25 Water
7 Magnetic, 11 Storm and 12 Cactus will leave
20 Air 6 Lightning 25 Water
20 Fog/Rain will knock of the Air, but it leaves Lightning and Water and Current and Plasma are long dragons to breed, even if you are doing 5 of them. So let's break down 4 Papers to make 2 each of Mud, Quake, Storm, Ice/Iceberg, Cactus and Seaweed. So
21 Paper 20 Fog/Rain 14 Cactus 13 Storm 7 Magnetic 2 Mud 2 Quake 2 Ice/Iceberg 2 Seaweed

I just ignore the Silver thing, and work on the Gold Shrine strategy.

Then, 5 Storm, 5 Cactus will leave
27 Metal 49 Water 47 Air 40 Lightning
27 Magnetics will leave
49 Water 47 Air 13 Lightning ... Now again, the Water/Lightning is not a good combo, so let's grab 5 Papers back and make 2 Mud, 3 Quake, 5 Storm and 5 Cactus. That will leave 47 Rain/Fogs to finish it off. So
