10-4 now, uploaded, but beware, not very stable at the moment...
So you tried to insert the PCL in between Pass 1 and 2? I know I suggested it, but if it's a bad idea it's a bad idea. How about if the first PCL pass was first? Then the 2 FWAE passes?
What I'm seeing is that sometimes it's better, sometimes it's not. So many IF's my brain is frying...
Because there is so many different angles to start with and which might end up being better than another, I have an idea to give the final build "choices", leaving the "old" stream of passes and have it do it's thing, then another stream with the new, whichever is the better of the two will be displayed. The old stream was extremely stable in terms of making sure no elements are left over, but not necessarily the most efficient in terms of dragon count.
At a later stage I can build in options for less days or less dragons.

I know. It's like every build we have looked at, trying to alter the order of what should happen first, really changes things around. Way too many ifs. Surely there has to be a perfect order to do things ...
Looking at the figures in there right now, I would suggest this:
Tidy up the PCL with Metal.
1 Malachite/Ironwood 4 Mine
Then the 27 Metal become 9 each of Magnetic, Malachite/Ironwood and Mine. Leaving 23 Bloom. So

23 Bloom 13 Mine 10 Malachite/Ironwood 9 Magnetic
55 Dragons all up.
Will give this a go. I modeled the current way around how you did it back then. I didn't know there was no malachite/ironwood back then.
Problem is, sometimes it's a good idea to tidy up PCL early, other times not, especially when the difference between PCL is a lot.
Bit challenged for time this week though, will see where I get a gap.
myke, we talking about the automated tool for working out dragons required based on element counts.

Yeah, I'm just trying to avoid making two streams if we can, but maybe it has to be two underground sheets and then it chooses which one is best to display.
I'll have a think about my thought process for ordering and see if there's a simple if/then question to decide which way I go about things.

Hello, Fletch. I'm almost ready to start my Shrine Grind; need your help for a strategy. Below are my current Shrine status:
Earth - 51 (done) Fire - 53 (done) Plant - 45/50 Cold - 39/50 Lightning - 34/50 Water - 36/50 Air - 40/50 Metal - 28/50
A little history: after turning all Shrines silver, I started the project of maintaining only a pair of each non-gemstone dragon (except for Panlong, which I have 12 of); so I got rid of any excess and sold newly hatched triplicates. Then I leveled all non-epic to 15, which resulted on my Earth and Fire Shrines turning gold.
I also managed to get every single dragon that's been released, thanks to the recent Bring Em Back holiday special, so we can use whichever three- or four-element hybrid on the Grind.

Ummm ... what did you want? A plan to turn your shrines Gold? What are your numbers for Level 15 elements so far?

5 Plant 11 Cold 16 Lightning 14 Water 10 Air 22 Metal
5 Bloom, 6 Storm and 5 Magnetic to start. Leaves
14 Water 10 Air 17 Metal
4 Rust leaves 6 Chrome and Rust to almost finish off the metal and 4 Fog/Rain will tidy them up. Then let's pull apart one of the blooms to make a Magnetic and a Reindeer to finish things off. So final numbers are:

Fletch, it sounds as though he wants to have one of each dragon to level 20, with the shrines a necessary side-stop on the way. Should he go ahead and include those in the shrine grind, rather than only raising 9 or 10 different dragons? Or is the amount of food from 15-20 so much more than the amount from 1-15 that it just doesn't matter?

Generally speaking the latter. But there are nearly 100 dragons, so that will soon add up. Is that what you're after Techno?
I know things have been quiet around the development of the automated shrine grind calculator from my side.
Just to let you know I have not forgotten about this, things have just been hectic. My time is divided between work, kids and my wife. By the time I have time, I am exhausted. This is what makes DragonVale so great, I can log on, do stuff for 5 minutes and get out. I used to be an avid gamer on PC and console. Now with kids... sheesh, time is few.
Anyway, I will get back onto this, just a few bugs here and there to sort out.
I need the following: 36 plant 48 metal 14 air 5 fire 23 water 45 lightning 31 cold
To turn all my shrines to gold. The earth shrine was my first to turn gold, so that one is done.
Your humble servant will await your answer.
Hi Lil,
I just wanted to let you know that Fletch is away at the moment and I don't know how much/often he'll be checking and whether he'll have a keyboard with him. Rynoster will have to step up for you.
