Tricia, you could actually breed 7 more sandstorms and 7 more fogs with same results except you will have 14 extra air. On the other hand you will have a whole lot more on the re-sale side! Since MUDs only sell for 5k and sandies sell for 500k and fogs a cool 1mil!!! That amounts to a lot more dc for food too!!
So that would be 21 sandstorms @ 2 hours = 42 hours 22 fog @ 8 hours = 176 hours
Total 653 hours or 27.21 days.
April
Pretty sure MUDs sell for 250k ...
But resale value is a good point. April would you like to do a comparison between the two showing the difference in time, DC for food to level them up and return on resale. That will give us a Net Figure of how much it will cost compared to the time required.
Will be happy to do this as soon as my headache is gone bye bye! It's been a rough 2 days of it now.

Couldn't resist one part...although my numbers aren't accurate as for some reason when I was doing calculation I thought mags and iron sold for 1,125,000. When they actually sell for 1,150,000. But for comparison only the numbers will reflect the first.
Fletch's dragons resale value: $91,775,000 I will break it down later.
April's dragons resale value: $161,525,000
Difference of: $59,770,000
However...as you pointed out, time bears a factor here as well! I will do a spreadsheet of sorts to calculate the differences there.

Also want to note that the resale alone will only feed almost 10 dragons to 15. That's not many!

Ok, so after much re-calculation on the correct selling price and food required to feed to 15 and the days to finish:
Fletch's dragons will ultimately only require $32,526,568 in DC per day for the 44 days it takes to breed the required dragons in a single cave. Very easily attainable!
April's dragons will require $57,514,185 DC per day for the 27 days it takes to breed the required dragons in a single cave.
Both would create enough food to level each dragon to 15. Both are assuming that you will sell each dragon once leveled to 15. And both are only using one cave!
With that in mind in Fletch's scenario, you could breed both caves once in a while and speed up your number of days once you have obtained enough dc. In my case, depending on how well you are set up and how often you breed for cash you may need to utilize both caves for dc breeding once in a while to keep up the pace.
I guess either way, or a good combo of the two would be ideal! Perhaps breeding a pan now and then to catch up on dc would be a good way to go about it.
Any thoughts Fletch?

Great work April. Would love to see the specific working of breed time, money required for food, money back from dragon resale, etc for both scenarios.

That's pretty much the crux of the matter. With the new "How much do I earn ..." thread, people could get that down to a specific number, and we could use that in the calculations to fully optimise it ... you know ... if we were geeky enough ...

(blushing). Gee whiz never would have thought. Thank you Fletch!
I tried to copy over my spreadsheet I used, but since I did not pay for the full version of Office2 Plus for iPhone I wasn't able to. I couldn't even save all my hard work for that matter.
I would be happy to work it up again on another computer and send it to you. It didn't take too much time to do once I knew the basic numbers. Thanks again for the compliment! April

Hey Fletch,
I sent you a Pm through the web forum from another pc. Hope you got it. Since I could only copy and paste it was a bit scrambled. Let me know if you would like it in a different format.

^^ Umm, Think you made a clerical error with 19 Mags there, sir.
No it wouldn't be. Metals are 8 hours, so you'd do a Hybrid anyway for time and value, so might as well be Magnetics. 31 of them will leave.
35 Cold 1 Lightning 33 Plant
33 Lichen (or Reindeer if you have it) plus a couple of Storm will knock everything off.
31 Magnetic 33 Lichen/Reindeer 2 Storm
It was an awful try sorry fletch just tried to go off what you told me.
That's okay. Trying to work this out yourself is what this thread is about. It was a good effort apart from that mistake in the beginning. Feel free to have a go at any others in the future.
You friend Saeko should join the forum and say hello. They need
20 Metal 30 Fire 43 Cold 23 Lighting 44 Plant 35 Water 29 Air 35 Earth 23 Bloom to start us off.
20 Metal 30 Fire 20 Cold 21 Plant 35 Water 29 Air 35 Earth 20 Lichen and 1 Seaweed to knock off Cold and Plant and 1 Brass, 5 Rust and 6 Iron to level up the Pan elements.
8 Metal 29 Fire 29 Water 29 Air 29 Earth
2 more Brass, Rust, Iron and Chrome to get rid of the Metal leaves 27 Panlong to knock it all off. So
Hello and thank you so much, Fletch!!! .......and thank you Shirley to help me guided and make me addicted....
