Let’s start 2024 out right with an Apocalypse. This is Garita Island: home to six volcanos, two large vents, and an assortment of Apocalypse dragons - all spewing fire and passing gas. All rocks, boulders, and piles of various descriptions have been flattened by draconic and volcanic exhalations. The hotel has been flattened too, so Garita Island is day-use only unless you have reservations at The Restaurant at the End of the Island located near the Pillar of Prophecy at the bottom of the island. The volcanos and vents are known as Doh! Garita, Ray Garita, Me Garita, Far Garita, So Garita, La Garita, Tea Garita, and Mar Garita.

This would be a very scary island to visit. It looks like the volcanoes are going to erupt at any time. I love the name of your volcanoes and vents - very clever.

That might be Narcis but I will have to check to be sure. The bit about the restaurant is a nod to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. In the Guide we meet an inanimate character at the restaurant named Hotblack Desiato. Hotblack is spending a year dead for tax purposes. I still like that one.
This is Lux Aeterna Island, from the Latin, meaning literally Eternal Light Island. This is just a ring of Light Habitats arranged around the Dragon Draw Summoning Circle Tower with the island theme set to Water which makes for an attractive background. The Summoning Circle is a luxurious gambling den set in a ring of Rune Stones and Purple Posies for mystique and landscaping. Witches and Wizards occasionally enter the Summoning Circle Tower by themselves and leave escorted by a dragon. The show at the House of Applause has just finished judging by the junior dragons making their way out of the pavilion. Light-themed decos and bright rifted Light Pedestals complete the scene.
My decorating ideas came from Fletch’s imaginative early park tours. I decided to make my park into a theme park for the Visitors with one of everything on display and accessible by path. This imposed some constraints, but it also enforced a great deal of discipline on the design process.

This is a great looking island. I really like the contrast between the walk of stars path and the sand fro the water theme.
This is Deadpool Island, the place my Dark dragons call home. The naming process went something like: “Smoke On The Water”, then Deep Purple, then DP, then Deadpool (with an assist from Dopinder - the cabbie in Deadpool). Dark dragons are housed in eight Dark Habitats, all accessible by path. Overnight stays at the DragInn are limited to three nights per month because the Wizards are still unsure about the health hazards associated with breathing second-hand fog. Lighting is by Whitbee.
NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE VISITORS The Wizards have recently obtained a Deceased (sic) and Desist Order that prohibits Visitors from bringing any tools for digging or equipment for fishing to Deadpool Island. The Wizards are 100 percent certain (with 83 percent confidence) that Jimmy Hoffa is NOT buried on Deadpool Island (as claimed by a social network that only spews “truthful” lies). The island’s resident Watch dragon will be keeping a sharp lookout for any further illicit activities. You have been warned!
Here is definitive proof that in 979 billion years (give or take 5 days, 14 hours, 10 seconds, and 1 Kaiju dragon) DragonVale will spiral down the drain through a galactic portal into a black hole. Until then, koalas to all.

But when the Zodiac habitats align, the stars will align with them and cause the black hole to disappear, thus saving the Vale! Thanks Zodiacs!

This is Doa Island. Doa takes its name from the obvious resemblance to Goa, India, and because of the risks Visitors run when they arrive via the Portal where they can be eaten, trampled, or otherwise killed if they linger too long. There is a rabies certificate on file for Whitbee, but nothing of the sort can be found for the lap dog who bursts out of The Portal deco at various intervals. Flying in to Doa for a visit is much safer. A cemetery is conveniently located next door to the Apocalypse Habitat in case you have a chance encounter with one of Hexy’s poisonous frogs. Gnomes with shovels are stationed nearby to assist with burial arrangements. The residents of the Dark Manor deny being vampires. The butler is named Guillermo if you are interested in stopping by for a drink or a bite. Overnight accommodations can be found at the Grim Inn located near the School. The restaurant should be avoided at all costs as it is run by Ma Goody’s Untreatable Catering (not to be confused with the Treatable Catering division). Lastly, there is Mrs. Murphy’s School. The School’s reputation is under a perpetual dark cloud these days. Stay vigilant while strolling amongst the dragon bones; not all of those bones are as dead as they look. The latest island gossip (depending on who you ask) involves Whitbee and the witch flying around the Coven Hut, Whitbee and Mrs. Murphy, Whitbee and the boiling cauldron, or Whitbee and Jack O’Lantern. Whitbee seems to be getting around. Have a safe and pleasant visit to Doa Island.
