E'lys Island - Welcome to Islas de Fletch Dragoon Well after intensive time of refurbishment and renovation, Islas de Fletch Dragoon are now back open for business and offering overnight stays and longer*. The new look of the resort is apparent on each square foot of every island, and is obvious from the time you arrive.
All visitors arrive at Islas de Fletch Dragoon at E'lys Island, the central hub of our resort. Here you check in to your accommodation, buy tickets to our resort events and book passage to the exhibits at our other islands, and as soon as you land you are facing the massive Dragon shrines in our central square. The 7 Elemental dragons form the basis of all life in our wildlife reserves and the 4 different types of pavers used in the square represent our 4 other islands.
Once you get passed the majesty of the shrines, your eye is immediately drawn to the Colosseum, where dragons of every type compete for gold and glory. The Colosseum runs 24/7 (or however many hours are in your day and days are in your week) so you can swing by at any time of the day or night to check out the action.
If you're after something quieter, the Dragon Library might be more your style, with the most comprehensive collection of Dragon Lore ever bought together under one roof. They also have a spotters list that you can pick up before you travel to our other islands and the solution to the Maze on Isla Oro (sealed in an envelope) in case you would like to take some insurance.
Ye Olde Buffet is also on E'lys Island, the oldest and best restaurant in all the land. Open from 5am to late every day, your breakfast, lunch and dinners are well catered for, including picnic lunches that you can take on your day trips**.
The rest of E'lys Island is well manicured lawns highlighted with spiral paths, indicative of the long meandering journeys you can take on the other islands of Islas de Fletch Dragoon. The occasional tree dots the island with the west side being given over to our standard accommodation.
The traditional villas are self contained units with all the amenities. Our standard rate villas have a Colosseum view, but for a slight surcharge you can upgrade to a breeding island view, watching the Dragons court and cavort as the sun sets slowly behind them in the west.
* Day visits continued during the refurbishments, in a limited form. ** Picnic lunch must be ordered by 8pm the previous night with the appropriate form found in your welcome pack.
Isla Verde - Home of our Plant, Water and Air Habitats After checking in at E'lys Island, a popular first choice destination amongst our floating archipelago is Isla Verde.
At complete odds to the clean lines and orderly sparseness of E'lys Island, Isla Verde is a lush overgrown island, jam packed with life. We have left it as untouched as possible, keeping our impact on the environment to a minimum. The cozy Dogens used by the staff are low impact housing camouflaged to blend in with its surroundings and the few paths on the island are only large enough to transport food from the farms to the dragons and are made from stones found in the Islands streams. The niceties have been sacrificed here, no restaurants or accommodation, in order to keep the island as close as possible to it's natural state. Wear your hiking boots.
Isla Verde is home to 3 different types of dragon habitats and the fauna is thusly rich and diverse. Plant and Water habitats are obvious ones on this island, and in keeping with this earthy environment they are teaming with green and brown dragons. We also house our air habitats here, and the colourful countenance of the dragons in this habitat provide the only counterpoint in this lush green island. And this close to the hatchery it is often easy to spot the newborns.
We built the Hatchery on this Island, as close as possible to the magical breeding cave, so that moving the eggs can be quick and safe. Whilst getting too close to the breeding cave is strictly forbidden (you do not want to approach dragons in the throws of rapture!) you have a good view from the hatchery itself.
A Fountain of Youth is also here amongst the greenery, returning some of our elderly dragons to a more youthful appearance and filling them with vigour. The Fountain only works on the dragons though, so don't get any ideas.
The only obviously out of place construction on the island is the Air Boost, kept at an out of the way nook on the edge of the Island to harness the air power from the surrounding atmosphere. Getting to the tall blue spire can be a bit of trudge, but the view of the rest of the islands from it's peak is breath taking*.
*Literally. With the "weather vane" at the top of the Air Boost harnessing the air, anyone who gets to close to it can experience side-effects such as light headedness, a fugue state and judgement impaired euphoria and staying longer than 5 minutes at the top of the Air Boost is not recommended.
Isla Fuego - Home of our Earth and Fire Habitats A complete antithesis to Isla Verde is the desolate Isla Fuego
This is island is composed primarily of dry earth with lava erupting from the active Volcano at the center of it. Ironically, but understandably, this scorched environment is perfect for so very many dragons, and Isla Fuego holds the widest range of species in all of Islas de Fletch Dragoon. We have had to work hard to make this island a viable tourist attraction, magic-ing in a water source amongst the farms that grow the food for our dragons, and building a series of environmentally controlled shelters both for our employees and the visitors. Guests don't stay overnight on Isla Fuego, but eateries and gift shops are available on the Western side of the Island, built in a traditional Japanese style, and you will find they make a nice respite during a walk around the island.
The bricks in the path around this island were fired via the heat from the flowing lava, and if they were not blackened during production, they would end up that way in short order from the infrequent clouds of ash that rain down on them from the volcanic eruptions. Whilst we recommend wearing older clothes during a visit to Isla Fuego, and leaving any valuables, delicates or flammables at your villa, the dragons simply thrive on it, and in the midst of the current breeding season, babies can be found all over the island.
The only tree on the island, is magic-ed into place, and is held in a kind of unending stasis. This was found to be so taxing on the wizards that performed the magic, that other attempts at adding foliage to the island were abandoned. The only plus side to the harsh conditions on Isla Fuego is that the underground heat springs are used to ideal effect in the Sauna and Spa located near the entrance portal. We recommend all visitors to Isla Fuego exit via these amenities to leave the island, refreshed, relaxed ... and clean*.
Isla Azul - Home of Cold and Moon Habitats For a change of pace, rug up warm and visit Isla Azul.
Isla Azul is home to all our dragons that appreciate the cold. A majestic snow covered tundra (too flat for skiing, sorry) it is a dragon filled winter wonderland, no matter what the season. After porting in, you walk through a tunnel of snow frosted fir trees to reveal a great white expanse of snow and white marble.
The necessary dragon food farms on this island and out of the way behind the trees to your left, and whilst you are welcome to visit them, the are much the same as the farms on the other islands, which you can visit in balmier weather. The Hibernation Cave, however, is to the right of the entrance, housing all of the slumbering dragons that prefer to frolic in a warmer climate. This is a great place to visit to see so many of the species asleep, something very rarely seen in the wild of the park
Whilst the children enjoy this dusted white playground, there is no doubt that this is the island for the romantics at heart, and pride of place upon entering this island is the Lovers Wishing Well. It is said that a coin tossed in here from those with true love in their hearts will ensure they spend a long and happy life with their soul mate.
Isla Azul has our most luxurious accommodation, and is incredibly popular as a honeymoon spot or for a romantic getaway. Seeing the moon suspended, continuously rising over the snow covered trees, as you walk the snowy paths bathed in its light, is simply spectacular.*
Isla Oro - Sun, Rainbow and Lightning Habitats Last, but certainly not least of the Islas de Fletch Dragoon, is Isla Oro
Home of our World famous golden maze, this is the perfect island to visit and get lost for a day. Port in to the centre of the maze and take off in any direction to see what you can find. Isla Oro houses all our golden dragons, including the recently discovered Leap Year Dragon, that lives with the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow*.
Our maze is made up entirely of Cactus plants, which can give you a tantalising glimpse of where you would like to be and yet keep you from it (attempting to squeeze through the walls of the maze is vigorously discouraged). There are few dead ends within the maze, so finding your way to a dragon habitat is just a matter of following the yellow brick road.
There are no restaurants on Isla Oro, and as you can easily while away a day amongst the maze, we recommend you take a picnic lunch and spread a blanket under one of the yellow trees that dot the island when the mood strikes. "You are Here" maps can be found at all the habitats, buildings and the two lightning crystals within the maze along with emergency water supplies, bandages and communication to the staff that are roaming the island. Before you visit Isla Oro it's very important you remember the sunscreen, including under the neck and on the back of the knees. The reflected light from all the surfaces on this island is a *****.
* Gold protected by all manner of enchantments ... don't even think about it.
Welcome to the Islands of Dragonika. A wonderful collection of islands showcasing the amazing lives of dragons!
The Island of Tnissil
Here we warp in through our one and only egg portal! This is a totem letting people know that the breathtaking Epic breeding Island can be seen off in the distance. Only the most prolific of dragon breeders visit this island. As you enter the island you have a choice of 2 directions. You can head north past the Vernal Fountains to see the Breeding Arena. This is where we have bred many of our wonderful dragons and hatched them with tender loving care. Our breeding Wizards are on hand 24/7 to ensure the dragons are well tendered to and the hatchery is kept at an even temperature to ensure perfect egg hatching conditions. To the right you will find the Dragon Vacation Facility. This is where our dragons go when they need some R and R. Here, they are treated to massages, they have their claws clipped, their scales polished and their fur brushed
After visiting the breeding arena, you can head South to see our one of a kind gem tree! Gifted to us as a small shrub from a wizard passing through the islands. It grew to be an amazing tree that sprouts gems quite regularly. We harvest these regularly and send them to neighbouring islands to help with their progress. Our gem tree is guarded by 6 of the rarest dragons… The Rainbow dragon! They hover gracefully over the golden paths of sbuħija qawsalla protecting the gem baring tree. This stops any would be thieves from even considering stealing the precious gems.
The Island of Istaguni
Be prepared! This island showcases the seasonal dragons that the Breeding Wizards worked hard to breed for the weeks a year they can be hatched. Because they are so rare, we keep a baby, a juvenile and an adult on display so our visitors can see the dragons in all their stages of life. All except the pride and joy of the island, the highly coveted Leap Year Dragon! Covered in golden scales, this highly elusive dragon could only be bred for a very short time once every 4 years!! Many other breeders went a little crazy in the hunt for this dragon, but for the lucky few who managed to breed one (or two), these magnificent beasts hold a special place in their parks.
Along the meandering marble paths, you will see habitats containing such dragons as the Reindeer dragon (available to be bred in December), the Love dragon (available to be bred in February, the Bone dragon (available in October) and the Clover dragon (available to be bred in March).
The Panlong dragon is slightly different to the rest. It can be bred all year, but only this year. Strange that it coincides with the year of the Dragon, don’t you think? It is nearly as illusive to breed as the Rainbow, however, and is highly desirable!
New to our island is the Bloom dragon! This brilliant beast was only recently bred and it has been determined that it can only be bred around the beginning of spring. It can be found in the Lightning habitat in all phases of its life.
Island of Sema Baħar Ġlata
Welcome to the land of sea, sky and frost! As you enter this island proudly standing in the centre is rare Moon dragon. She embodies all elements of this island and protects it. As you wander the island you will see various dragons from the air, water and cold. There is great magic at work on this island. The cold habitats needed to stay below freezing for optimal conditions for the cold dragons, but this could not seep over to the water habitats as they would freeze. Likewise with the water not running into the air habitat and causing it to rain. Its quite hard to fly in the rain you know! There are many magical barriers are in place, but they do not take away from the overall appeal of the island.
Island of Ġganti u Logħob
The biggest event of our islands are the Colosseum Games! Leading up to the colosseum you can see the statues of the most prolific dragons to ever have graced the colosseum floor! At the base of each statue, a small plaque can be found with information not only of the dragon , but the element as well.
As you walk towards the giant stadium, a flag of each element that competes at the games can be viewed. Overseeing the games, are two Sun dragons. They have a dual purpose. They prevent any cheating from going on and keep the visitors warm during the colder months. Also located on the island is a library, for any visitors wanting to know more, a buffet for the hungry hoards at the games and an Inn for a brew or 2 with a friend whilst discussing the games
Island of Falsifikazzjoni
The Forgery island! A new dragon element was recently discovered, the Metal dragon! It was discovered after the volcano appeared on this island. We believe the metal dragon was forged by wizard within the magical fires of what is now known as Mt Forn. According to the Great Dragon Archives, located in the library on Ġganti u Logħob, the Metal dragons are closely related to the earth dragons. We found it essential to have these two habitats close together to get the best show from our dragons on display. Around Mt Forn, you can see the Shards of Tull. These also only appeared after the metal dragons appeared. The fire habitats were created after the smaller volcanos popped up after a small earthquake ruptured the earth. We took full advantage of this and placed our fire dragons here and created a mystical barrier so the fires and volcanos wouldn’t spread across the island.
Island of Agrikoltura
To the last island in our archipelago. This is where all our wizards live. From the magicians to the breeders to the horticulturists. This is a peaceful little island with several villas and thatched huts to accommodate our wizards. They work very hard to keep the dragons in check. Here we also have several farms that grow the food that keeps these hungry beasts placated. Close by is a small pond that is fed from an underground well that keeps a good supply of water to the farms. At the portal entrance another small, unkept path was found. This meandering path leads past many unusual shrubs and formations not seen altogether anywhere else. At the end of this path a wonderful fountain with sparkling clear water was discovered along with a big surprise… Another Leap Year Dragon! It is believed he watches over this magical place that has been found to transform adult dragons back into babies! Nearby is a small hill with a door in it. A ‘dogen’. Inside is an ancient wizard who keeps watch over the fountain, keeping its water pure. He has resided here for many, many years alone, which we have realized is how he likes it. He has put up a ward, since we visited, that stops people in their tracks. They reach a certain point and for some reason turn around. If you wander this path, you will find yourself turned around aswell.

Add me to see the islands. I cant figure out how to post pics. Sorry!
Here is the first installment, the centre of the universe, mission control, the Throne Island.
There are no habitats on this island because, although most dragons are docile, you never know when one bad kumquat is going to rally the others in a revolt, or a late night raid on the food production plants. Also the Hybernation Cave opens from the outside and opposable thumps are not required to operate the locking systems. The Gem Tree resides here also, as does the nursery and farms, all valuable assets to this massive undertaking. The Sun Dragons have been known to wander to other islands of their own accord, but so far mine have stayed put.
If the day ever comes where one dragon outshines the others in terms of trust then they may be employed as my Number One and be promoted to manage security. Or maybe not as dragon manure management is also an issue. I can contain and compost the manure on habitat islands and keep my nursery safe from parasites and other undesirables. And while dragons can be taught security protocols, the cannot be taught to poop in one place.
The breeding dragons are the only ones permitted to visit. That's because the are usually so preoccupied with hormone management they have no inclination to plot against the Board of Directors (me).
And so ends Chapter One.

Loved it! Love the Kumquat Uprising! Lots of character, too, with the opposable thumbs, parasites and other undesirables like Fletch. Like the layout, too, with the brick paths between flower beds and the gold plaza around the gem tree, etc. Nice job. Can't wait until chapter two!
vdl04, how did you come to use Maltese words for your islands?
My father is maltese and im in love with my heritage. We've traced our line back over 500yrs turns out i have royal blood. I just liked the idea of the dragon islands mimicking the maltese islands

That's great. 500 years back is significant. Have you seen the ancestral work thatNational Geographic is doing where you send in a DNA sample and they trace your parental lines back to Africa? My dh just completed his paternal side and is waiting for them to complete his maternal side.
And to keep this thread on topic I'll run to my laptop and post chapter 2

This is the Island of the Phoenix.
In mythology the Phoenix lives for 1,000 years then builds a nest that catches fire, and from the ashes of the nest and the old Phoenix, a new egg appears and hatches - immortality.
On this island, the coliseum runs perpetual competitions, the circle of flags around the perimeter have no beginning and no end. The Sun dragons protect the island in honor of the Egyptian city of Heliopolis (meaning "Sun City" in Greek) which plays a role in some stories of the Phoenix bird. This island is also the resting place of bronze shrines, until they evolve to silver, at which time they are moved to another island (future chapter).
The five rainbow habitats form the crest of the Phoenix and currently house 5 LYD (but once I get my rainbow I will be selling one of the LYD's - probably the ugly one).

Frio y fuego the island of opposites. As a guest you will immediately feel the warmth of the sun and the cool breeze of the evening moons. All the dragons are housed in cold habitats within the sweetness of fresh green lawns. You are greeted by friendly Frost and Blue fire dragons. Distant cousins from the same gene pools of Cold and Fire parents. Our newest members to the island are the Bloom dragons, a result from of a Cold and Storm dragons frolicking on the green lawns; magically created this beautiful unique dragon. As they are still nursing, their mother storm dragon is housed in the other cold habitat. Enjoy your walk on the brick paths from shades of ginkgo trees and snow cap pines. Enjoy your visit. No over night stay allowed.
Fletch Dragoon - Isla Azul It has been a busy week since the introduction of this new strain of Dragon to our park. First, an introductory display was set up, pride of place on E'lys Island, so all visitors would be greeted on arrival by members of this exotic new animal. Then, after much discussion with Game Wardens from other facilities, it became apparent that these new dragons were both quite easy to breed AND highly sought after and valuable, so a breeding regime was put in place to supply other parks. And after it became apparent that these new dragons were creating a huge boom to our tourist trade, a park refit was in order to give some more real estate to the dragons everyone was suddenly clamouring to see.
Even with 5 islands available for space (and we will really have to start seriously thinking about obtaining a 6th), there is a limit to what we can do, and so some of our Cold Habitats had to be sacrificed* in order to make room for our new Metal Dragons. After working tirelessly for the last 24 hours, the wizards have finished relocating all the facilities on our Blue Island and installing a brand new maze on Isla Azul.
The groundwizards and gamekeepers are now turning their full attention to the refit of Isla Oro and hope to have it finished and better than ever in the next day or two. Stay tuned ...
* No Dragons were harmed in this "sacrifice". All Cold Dragons no longer on display are currently sleeping peacefully in hibernation.
Fletch Dragoon - Isla Oro Our new look island is open for visitors. All the cacti have been removed (we think), the Sun, Lightning and Leap Year Dragon habitats have been moved and 5 brand new Metal habitats have been installed. All habitats are edged with gold and black and decorations have been kept to an absolute minimum to keep the lines as clean as possible.
I do like the new look better fletch. More than once I thought it would be great if the game allowed us to rotate (as in on their axis) the habitats and possibly even the buildings and decotations. The metal habitat in particular becaus of the angle of those sticky-out bits. The effect could be more of a sun burst than a strong easterly wind.

New Arrivals at E'lys Island A mere 60 hours since their discovery, 3 Bloom Dragons have been imported into Islas de Fletch Dragoon and have replaced the newly discovered species of Metal Dragons in our feature habitat on our landing island. We strive to bring you the latest and greatest in the world of Dragonry and are backed by a team of hard working grounds wizards who have been working non-stop* since these new species of dragon was announced on Tuesday Afternoon (local time). The Metal habitat that was flanked by our dragon shrines was decommissioned in record time and the new habitat was ready and waiting for the dragons when they arrived, the last of which got here less than an hour ago. The ground wizards also were given last minute instructions to replace the marble paths around the habitats with the dark brick ones, as the light double reflected off the dragons, ice and white marble was truly blinding. The results speak for themselves.
The adult, juvenile and baby dragons are in good condition and are all very even tempered. The ground wizards say they are settling in nicely to their new surroundings, and are already becoming a crowd favourite. Why not visit them today?
* We attribute the speed and quality of work from our employees to the fact that we have magicked the time on our islands to be always 10 minutes before lunch, that period of peak work productivity, as proven by rigorous statistical testing.
My first island....The Island of La Lune et Le Soleil.....
This is one of the most magical (there are whispers amongst the fairies, if you visit the magic fountain, your hearts desire ,if pure enough, may come true) of all my islands, the island where time no longer exist, where day meets night continuously. As you enter through our portal to the left you are greeted by our oldest and wisest dragon Enchante. You may choose to walk through the cool, lush, green forest leading to the night (La Lune) dragons, if you look closely and listen carefully you may hear the faint music or giggling of the forest elves. Or you may choose to walk up the golden brick pathway flanked on either side by the lovely butterfly flower beds (tended ever so carefully by the flower fairies ). This pathway leads you to the very rare Leap Year Dragon, she is keeper of time for all islands. To the right you will notice the brilliance of the day dragons (Le Soleil). As you wander through their side of the island you'll notice the brilliant golden trees( the light fairies love this side of the island and can be normally be found here) immersed within the lush green forest. If you stumble upon one of three astrolabes hidden within the forest it's best if you do not touch them, they are rather old and it's rumored amongst the elves, fairies and wizards they aid in time keeping ( certain things are best to be admired with ones eyes)....
I hope you enjoyed your visit to Island La Lune et Le Soleil....
So I'm may not be very good at this, but we like our islands! I will post a picture as soon as I can. Brandy
