How great it is that this community continues to grow in generosity and encouragement.

Inspired by the many acts and examples of kindness that we have witnessed over the last months, and to encourage the growth of the generous spirit that exists on this site, we are creating this thread to help coordinate "Gem Showering".

What is a "gem shower"? It has nothing to do with cleaning your gems, let me tell you!

Gem showering is something that started on this site, and is exemplified by Jack and Liquidc0urage (to name just two examples):

- Jack has been caught driving to the convenience store in his pyjamas late at night to buy iTunes gift cards and send the redemption codes by email/PM to members struggling to breed a limited dragon.

- Where most people strive to foster gem trading relationships with a finite list of people for mutual profit, Liquidc0urage reserves most of his gems for participants of the I HATE GEMSTONE competition.

Gem Showering is a mentality summed up nicely by technofanatic thus:

I think this is an awesome idea as well. I do have a list of friends I receive gems from but do not have a problem with participating with a gift bomb. I'm sure the folks on the list are understanding cuz they just might be the recipient of a gift bomb one day. So don't count us out. . We are all here to help each other. And at the top are those who donate their time to keep the forum going our administrator and moderators. (yay! Big cheers for all of us)

I think the idea of fabulously gay ideas is fabulously gay !! The fact that Suri is hip to this concept makes it more so still.

I read about how it began sometime in the last couple weeks while I was just browsing through some former threads and got a chuckle then, but just now, hearing Suri say it, I laughed out loud.
But I digress...the point of this goth read is about gift bombing and I'd def. support that. I am continuously impressed with this community and was trying to explain it to my 12 yr old son, who is at this moment is engaged in exchanging unpleasantries over headsets with his ps3 Call of Duty community. I find its so sad that he is so taken back by the fact that this community is so warm, welcoming, and of course fabulously gay.
