Thanks fletch, maybe I am using the wrong profile option, but I do not see any of the options you are speaking of. Sorry, but man I feel silly. The profile button on my screen is at the bottom of the screen , am I looking in the wrong place?
You can't do it from the Proboards app as far as I know. Go to the forum from Safari or whatever browser you are using and edit you profile from there. You will have to host your picture on a site like Photobucket and then copy the direct link code and paste it into the the avatar field when you edit your profile info. Hope that helps!

The ProBoard app for the iPad is very, very good. I wish I could use it all the time, but I have to use the website for admin purposes. Highly recommended if you haven't tried it yet - well worth $2.99.

I think I have to use the app...I can't seem to quote more than one post at a time on the iPad with safari....
Installed the software. Once you've registered it you need to import pics from the inboard catalogue. It's not hard to find.
Once you've found it make sure you select none as the default import then tick the pics you want copied over. I wasn't aware of this and it started to copy my entire picture library. Could have been hours 😳

Good idea - thanks for starting this. Another use of this thread is that it's a good place to practice uploading photos. It's actually very easy using the app.

Ok..I have downloaded the app and tried it. Poppy can you use it in landscape mode? I have one of those Zagg cases with the keyboard so I can be quicker on the forums but I can't seem to make it work on landscape and if there is too much text that I quote I can't see what I'm writing unless it's in landscape mode. Also is this right...when viewing the messages in the app I can't see who wrote the text that is being quoted while reading the thread...

Re quoting etc. i also find it difficult to know who wrote the original. Maybe we should all make a signature. To my knowledge you can only do that from the browser version.

Nope..tried that but it still will not let me scroll down and see my typing...it is set to allow landscape mode. That is what was puzzling me. Doesn't make sense. Hmm...I wonder. I don't think I noticed my sig though in posts that people had quoted me....

Ok what I have finally figured out is this. In order to change your profile picture, you have to do that through the website in Safari or other Internet . Log in and choose your profile from the top. Then choose modify profile. Scroll down to where it says avatar and make sure the drop down says none. Then below that is where you will paste your URL from photobucket . Now from photobucket if you have uploaded your own pictures you will go to my albums, then choose your picture. Then tap on the little i in the lower right corner. You will see all kinds of links come up. Tap on the one that says direct link. Then toggle back to Safari and in the Avatar URL double tap and click paste! Then scroll down to bottom and choose modify. You should now have your new avatar!
To paste a picture in a post you can do this in the app. Use the same steps with photo bucket above except you will tap on the IMG link instead. Then when you are replying you just double tap and paste and walla! It's there.
I really hope this helps someone as it took me a while to get it!

Are you using Photobucket app? I tried using the default app from iPhone and had the same as you've got. Follow instructions above once you get o/ bucket, it's free!!!! 😄

I had to use photobucket to upload my picture to and then I used the "img" tag to post it from safari. You can copy the img tag right from photobucket. Using their free app is the best way I guess but I can't figure out how to resize a picture in the photobucket app yet.

Yes, landscape or portrait, just by rotating the iPad.
