I really like this forum software platform. It's supported by ads, but as I recall we will be ad-free for the first 90 days. There's also an option to pay for an ad-free environment permanently and I will explore that once our 90 day period is over. The cost appears to be very reasonable and I will be glad to pay for it.

I also really like the ability to separate the discussion into contextual threads. We can do our non-fiction thought-provoking book club right here. Poppy

I'm finding I that like reading this forum with my iPad in the portrait position rather than the landscape position that I always used at the "other" forum.

Note the folders next to the thread titles. They turn red when a thread is "hot" and they have a little pushpin when the thread is sticky.

What does "hot" or "sticky" mean? Hot means a lot of activity. Sticky means the thread is at the top ofthe thread listings permanently. Poppy

Using the App
The ProBoard app is outstanding but not that intuitive. For iPhones and iPads (there's also a version for Android devices) its available at the App Store for $2.99. You can figure most of it out after you d/l and launch it, but there are a coupe things that aren't immediately obvious:
0 Logging In The first thing you need to do is to log in using the same username and password that you used to sign up originally at the website.
0 Uploading Pictures I mentioned this in a previous post, but click on the Advanced Options tab at the bottom when you're composing a post.
Let me know if you have other questions. This is a great platform.

This is a screenshot of the compose new message screen in the ProBoard app for the Dragonvale Community forum. Note the "Open Advanced Options" tab across the bottom. That's how you upload an image. Remember, you must log in with the app, even though you might be logged in at the website. Let me know if you have questions. Poppy Attachments:

You will notice that there is no button to "Like" a post, which I will miss. But you may have noticed the two buttons on the user profile: "Exalt" and "Smite". Those give you a chance to rate a poster in an overall way, as opposed to rating a post.

Was going to say the "Jump to page" function didn't look as friendly as just having a list of pages that you could click on. But mousing over it brings up exactly that. Very nice.

As you know, you can exercise your freedom of speech rights here. If we proceed right, we should be able to organize posts in a contextual way, given that've can have as many threads as we would like. So please try to please your comments in the appropriate thread.
Thanks, Poppy

Tricia if Poppy had wanted us to shout the link out he would have asked us. We do not want everybody here i think. May i suggest you go back, edit your post and delete that link. Thanks Hmmm ... wondering about this. Are we making this an open community or is it by invitation only?

Well i think that as Poppy sent us mail (those he had) and was glad that pm were sent to those he had in mind, i do not think he intended to make it public. Do you want to see some ipad forum mods coming here in disguise or the renown cheaters..?

Do you want to see some ipad forum mods coming here in disguise or the renown cheaters..? Well it's not my board, but I have no problems with any and all coming here. The reason we found each other was the Tips and Tricks board was open to the public. I'm sure there are plenty of new friendships to be made if/when this board gets traffic from people looking for Tips and/or Tricks.

How do I change my picture? You might need to login to a web browser for that. And I don't think you can upload an avatar. You need to link to a picture hosted somewhere, like photobucket.
