I've had fresh cheese curds. Yummy! I've had French fries. Also yummy. And good gravy is yummy, but can't quite imagine them all together. If I am ever in Canada, poutine is the first thing I'm going to try. "Beaver tails" will be the second.
We need good recipes for both of these also.
Yes! Crispy things should be left crispy. My hubby puts milk on cake, makes it all soggy and soupy, yech!
If I ever get to where they make good Poutine I would have to try it, but it really does not sound good.
Aren't cheese curds just cottage cheese without the creaminess?
If you ask me, poutine is just awfull. Maybe this piling of greasy and heavy stuff is good if you are a trapper in the very north part of Canada, around the Hudson Bay lol. I come from a country/french speaking part of switzerland where eating and cooking are extremely important. The best we have with cheese and potatoes is raclette, that s what we had for supper tonight. Of course with a glas of local white wine.

Love my poutine ;D
Here in the prairies (central Canada- Manitoba) it's a staple. In fact every Thursday me and some buddy's go for poutine and pilsner (a local beer). I look forward to it all week. How could adding cheese to the fries and gravy you all already know be a bad thing??? Cheese goes with everything!!! Mmm... Instantly wish it was Thursday...
Cheers,
