Look at the original post. There is a list of other known combos, and what has worked for each of our losers in this contest. Maybe pick another combo. The right one is just waiting for you, finding it is the hard part. Koala!
I don't know if it matters or not but it would be nice to know what level bots were used to get Astro.
I wish I could remember, sorry the info just isn't in my brain anymore. My best guess is that they were between 7-9.

Hey Dan,
Without a doubt the fastest way to Level up is to grow food and feed your bots. Doing as many goals as you can that give XP helps as well and winning battles in the Arena.
You need to friend people from the Game Center on your iDevice. Then you can visit their Outposts from the Friends Tab at the bottom left of the screen in the game.

Hi, Dan-- just sent you a friend request. Be sure to read the tips re: having one less snax joint than allowed, then when you get the goal to build one, do it, then sell it, then wait for goal to show up again, repeat. Also, gifting one crystal at a time gives you a goal to gift a friend, give crystal then. All those little goals help w the exp points for leveling. Also, did you know that each level requires more & more exp to reach the next level? So a certain amount of patience is needed. Oh, and of course, winning in the arena gives pts. koala & enjoy the journey!

Debstoy - no love for astro here, I keep breeding all sorts of other bots ough (mostly ones I already have multiples of, of course)
Anyone having issues with getting booted while trying ot visit their friends? I avg about 3.8 visits before getting booted. Super frustrated at that, it's why I have been a bot negligent at speeding things up for you guys (sorry I'm such a slacker). Spending 15 minutes just to visit about 8 parks with multiple restarts in that timespan, really burns me up...or puts me to sleep depending on the time of day

You definitely are not alone with the friend visit game crashes. Seems to be happening to everyone. Sometimes worse than others.
