Just bred my 2nd Winter to level 10, and noticed that the Food Level bar greyed out, BFS omitted "maxed".
I just looked at mine and they're the same (can't feed, but doesn't say "maxed"). I'm pretty sure they used to say that, so I'm guessing it's a change/bug since the update. I just had a thought, so I spot checked a bunch of other epics, and none of them say "maxed" anymore. Looks like the update removed that. Do you think they're considering more levels for epics, or is this just fallout from the language changes?

It did cross my mind that there is that possibility of higher levels for epics, players have been asking that for quite some time.
With the last set of dragons got release today, and Chinese New Year this Friday, I have a feel that we may get a "special" dragon this Thurs/Fri.
Is there a DV Rehab? It's now been 23 hours since I have been able to get into my park and I'm having DV withdrawals and no word from the Wizards--someone please turn on the DV emergency signal as I need HELP NOW!
Have you been able to get in yet? I'm guessing you must have tried restarting your phone and also reinstalling the app. I'm not sure if this would help, but when I was unable to play the game, deleting another app that I'd just started playing actually seemed to work for me.
These days, with every update I'm getting a little more nervous about whether the game will work on my iPhone 4S. It works fine on my iPad 3, but I don't bring that out with me, so it's always a worry.
On another note, the latest Light and Dark hybrids look amazing. It's a shame that the final 2 dragons to round up the grid will be the Light and Dark opposite dragons, which will probably end up being recolours. I always found it annoying how most of the opposites really had nothing different aside from their colour. At least the Dodo and Sandstorm dragons had some tweaks here and there.
GCID: rionhow Thanks to ElektronX for my Light Rift avatar!
I have just started feeding all possible dragons in my park from 17 to 18. I did some rough calculations and expect it to cost around 15 billion in DC to get that amount of food. There are already three at level 20, for competition in the colleseum. Some day, I'd like to have all of my dragons fed up to 20. Please, won't someone tell me that I am not crazy?

This morning I got as far as into the park, however then as I hit the go to gifts button, it took me out. It then let me back in, I skipped the gifts and as the park showed, hit a habitat and it again took me out and hasn't let me back in yet. On the glass half full side, it is progress. I have done all that you suggested even removing other apps, I also have always had the game on the SD card so it is not a matter of space. Has to be something with Android update. Thank you for the suggestions.

I don't know what to say, my park fixed itself. Maybe it was a bug with the update, and hopefully yours will right itself too!

Jaine--YOU ARE NOT CRAZY--or maybe we both are as that is one of my long term goals also if I ever get back into my park. I guess patience really is a virtue. Wish I had some....
Oh, it's not crazy...
In theory, this is an obtainable goal with the right combination of patience and resources. How much you might ask?
Welll... lets say you actually have the resources to crown 1 dragon per week, which as I recall is actually BETTER than what pjsteel could manage with his islands full of Solstices, Eclipses and Blue Moons.
Still, it makes the math easy so we're going to use it for our example
It will take you about 2 years and 8 months to get one of every crownable dragon currently in the game. If they ever throw the switch and allow us to crown epic and gem dragons, that would raise your time required to 3 years and 2 months.
Keep in mind, that's just taking into account dragons currently in the game. I'm not even including ones we can predict will show up in the next few weeks. This is where the real dilema lies.
In actual practice this goal is WAY more challenging. Maybe impossible without spending real money or cheating.
Based on thier basic buisness model, BFS needs to keep releasing new dragons to keep the lights on. If they ever stop releasing new dragons, the majority of the player base would lose interest. If that happens the servers probably won't stay up long enough for you to actually complete your goals.
This would make us all very sad indeed
However, I don't say this to discourage you. The game is ever changing. There is always a chance they will introduce something along the way that makes this seemingly impossible goal much easier to obtain. With that in mind, all you can do is plug away at it, keeping whatever pace you can manage and enjoying the ride along the way

My main goal is to have an adult, turbo-baby and egg of each dragon. To while away the time breeding those hard-to-get dragons, I'm feeding up to level 15 in park 2 for the shrine grind and getting ready to crown in my main park.
I'd really like to see the opposite dragons named Dawn and Dusk. It seems the obvious choice... Or Sunrise and Sunset...
Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...

Agreed. Dawn and Dusk would be great, especially if they were susnet/sunrise colored! Think we'll get those ones next week?

Maybe I am missing your point, but I dont understand where the dilemma comes in place? If you have a new dragon, cann't you just add a week to 2 years and 8 months, so on and so forth? Your assumption of crowing 1 dragon per week is sounded.
My sister is raising all her dragons to level 18, I think 85% of her dragons are between level 17 - 18, excluding Epics. She visited my park last night, and ask why dont I raise my dragons to so and so level, I look at her and I ask why, and continue to say I am saving my foods for something down the line.

Like lemmy, I also had similar problems on an iphone. I deleted and reinstalled, turned off my phone, and force-closed the app numerous times. What seemed to finally do it for me was deleting the app, turning off my phone, and then turning it on before reinstalling it. I don't know if that will help you, but I thought I'd pass it on. I do hope that you are able to get into your park soon.
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

If you have a new dragon, cann't you just add a week to 2 years and 8 months, so on and so forth?
Yes, if you are actually able to keep that pace, you could just keep adding a week every time they released a new dragon. Eventually, you might catch up and complete the goal in X number o years.
But who's realistically crowning one dragon per week?
Most players have lower production levels. In many cases considerably lower.
If you make about 50 mil DC per day that means you can make about 1 million treats per day using beanstalks.
So it will actually take you around 10 days to crown a dragon assuming you do nothing else with your DC and food.
That would mean crowning around 36 dragons per year.
No problem, you'll still get there eventually right?
Well, no, not necessarily...
In 2012 they released 60 dragons (not counting Kairos), of which 38 were crownable.
Last year they released 64 dragons, of which 47 were crownable.
So long as they keep releasing dragons in those numbers, you're not really making any progress towards your end goal of crowning one of every dragon.
Of course, there are plenty of other factors involved here, but trying to keep it simple. I haven't, for example, factored in how gem usage can influence things because there's so many ways you can use a gem and gems per day tend to fluctuate based on factors beyond the players control..

I potentially earn 55 million each day from 60 habitats. But with constant breeding/selling of failures, and Kairos, I have not been able to accurately pin down a total for an average day. I can also visit friends parks and earn another couple of million, (but it takes forever to load!) Some days I can sweep a little more frequently than others. I am not raising from 17 to crowned, it won't take a week per dragon at this point. I keep a minimum of two of each dragon. I am trying for four of each gemstone because I like the seasonal, color-matched gemstone island look. I hide ugly dragons in hibernation and display turbo-babies just for the looks and cuteness factor. What can I say? I suck at park decoration and layout. I went for cute and matchy-matchy.
More dragons also means more habitats and more earnings.
Does anyone know of a resource which allows you to sort all dragons by earning rates, including maximum boosts? I'd like to use it to optimize my park a bit. Thanks!
Sorry LSeven, I have no excelsheet for that. But have a look at this sheet. sheet This link was posted here in the forum some weeks ago ( so I think, the newest dragons are not in it ?) It leads to an excel sheet with several tabs. Under the tab " dragons " there are also the coins per minute for different levels. It might be a good basis for a new sheet. Just actualize the dragons and add the boosts.
Sooooo, I updated my charts and made a new for LSeven. They are all in my signature. With the last four new dragons there is a new pair at the top of the average of income by breeding : Acid and Promethium. But its a roulette, if you get Acid : hooray ! But if you get promethium, it's much less icome per hour than plant + dark or plant + light. My new chart shows all the earning rates of the dragons , the maximum of possible positive boosts, the resulting earning with boosts at level 10, 15 and 20, an appropriate habitat (always as large as possible) with the dragon cap for it, the resulting income per habitat for level 10, 15 and 20 and the time in hours, till the habitat is full ( also level 10, 15 and 20). By now it is sorted downwards by the income per habitat at level 15 but you can easily sort it as you like it. If somebody finds a mistake, please let me know. (There was a switch between the breeding time with the last four dragons, I did not know, which numbers are right. Checked the DV and the Wiki, both gave the same times which I took) There also are several dragons for which I couldn't get the earning rates upwards level 15 as they are not on the wiki. I followed the mathematical steps but it may differ a bit. Those numbers are shown in blue color. Enjoy

The DV market and the wiki are still wrong.
Acid is a 15.5 hr and Promethium is 8hr.
Radiant and Palladium are correct.
Sandbox shows the correct times as of this morning.

Have you tried a Force Stop on the app? When I first updated, I had some odd behavior, but stopping the app (forcing it to reload) solved it for me. Go to your Settings, select Apps, find Dragonvale and select Force Stop. It will ask you to confirm. After that, try going into the game again. I actually do this at least once a day because my game loses its connection to Facebook, and it's the only way I've found to get it back.

A fairly long message about the 2.2 update from BFS found Here
Localized DragonVale is here in 9 languages! Updates for 2.2 are live on Android, iOS and Amazon devices. Please continue reading for information about the update:
FOR USERS WITH iPod 4th Generation Touch, iPad 1 and iPhone 3GS:
We have been getting a lot of support emails, comments on Facebook and comments on other forums about users not being able to load into the game, difficult gameplay, inability to access social menus and being kicked out to the home screen. The vast majority of these emails are from users playing on iPod 4th Generation Touch, iPad 1 and iPhone 3GS. These devices are the oldest devices still supported by Backflip Studios.
We are constantly fighting a battle between keeping the game playable for older devices and adding new content. As we continue to expand the game with content, new dragons, localization (as is the case for 2.2) and features, the game will become harder and harder to play on old devices until those devices are no longer supported at all.
We are always working on ways to optimize gameplay for older devices but unfortunately, there is no guarantee that these optimizations will work for everyone.
Please remember that as long as your game is associated with Game Center, you can access your DragonVale park from any compatible iOS device. It will always be there! If you are playing locally, please be sure to write down and store your Local Park ID in case Backflip Studios Customer Support needs to transfer your local park to a new device - which we will be happy to help with.
Users have asked us why they can't download the previous version of DragonVale - unfortunately the App Store does not allow for us to have more than one version of the game live to the world at a time so this is not an option.
On behalf of the Customer Support Team - we really hate breaking this news to you! We are happy to help as much as we can and transfer park progress to a new account/device if necessary. We have some troubleshooting tips for users with old devices - we'd be happy to send that along if you email us at support@backflipstudios.com.
FOR iOS Users:
DragonVale Text will localize based on your device settings. Currently there is not an option to translate just DragonVale text but we are working on an update that will allow users to choose what language they'd like DragonVale to appear in. For now, if you'd like the game in English, you will need to change the settings for your entire device.
Any feedback is much appreciated regarding words/phrases with strange or off translations! (email support@backflipstudios.com with the specific text/word and we'll get it over to our QA team!)
There is a known issue with tips loading into the game, goal text and description text showing "Text.tip3" or some variation of that. If you have two devices with different versions of DragonVale on them, this is likely the issue. Please be sure you've updated on both devices to clear up this problem!
FOR ALL USERS:
If some or all of your friends have disappeared from your friends list, please be sure you have updated to the most recent version of DragonVale and that they have as well. There are a few known issues with friends disappearing off of lists after gifting a gem or receiving a gem - we're working on these. There are also somewhat constant issues with Facebook friends disappearing and reappearing. We recommend making sure that your Facebook App is up-to-date as well as your DragonVale game.
As always - thanks for all of your feedback and do email us if you have any further questions or concerns! Support@backflipstudios.com
Sincerely,
Rachael, Kyle, Dan, Craig and Sean
**We are proud to be a Colorado-based team providing support Monday through Friday**
Hopefully this can answer some of the questions that have been going around lately.
Thanks for this EX. There are a few downstream issues I can see here. My wife plays on a 3GS. This means if she wants to continue playing she will need to avoid updates. In turn that means she will gradually lose her friend base as her friends upgrade. Since she largely plays to keep in touch with family - something to talk about with the new generation - she will sooner rather than later lose all reason for playing. Sigh. (And I won't be able to sneak onto her account to give myself gems )
