I think this is the first time I can remember that a new dragon has been released and a whole day passed without comment by someone who's managed to breed it!
Is NO-one trying for Mirage or Shadow, or have all the old faithfuls deserted the camp?
If anyone is listening, these two are proving VERY difficult to breed, and I'd really like to know that someone has been more successful than me.
Also a couple of my regular gem exchangers appear to have dropped off the radar, so if anyone would like to take their place, just let me know - but please don't knock me over in the rush!

I too am having a hard time! But I'm not complaining, I like having something to work towards! No luck with either, yet.

No sign of a Mirage yet, but have a Shadow breeding on the first try. Wow, that is the first time that has happened to me with a new dragon.
Just got amethyst first try on the EBI. Trying for love on the EBC. Then I will go back to trying mirage and shadow.

Stuck the combos in both EBIs, two 6:24s came out. Little park had Kairos due, used him to speed up, stuck the dragons back in, and hey presto! 22:24! Another gem dragon for my lil park!
Still need seconds and eggs for both parks. But good omens...

Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...

Off to look for some other interesting babies I haven't gotten yet - double rainbow anyone?
I'm digging the new Mirage and Shadow dragons. The eye swap really makes the dragons distinctive enough from the originals. Would it be too much to hope for tiny tweaks to the existing opposite dragon designs to make them a little more different?

The eye swap definitely is something different. I think that the only other opposite dragon that had different eyes was Malachite. I do find the Mirage's eyes to be a bit unsettleing though.
Trying for both of the opposites with no luck yet. At least these new dragons will give me something to work towards for awhile.

My little park feels like it's stuck in a grove of producing the same dragons over and over again, I don't seem to be able to get the dragons I really want.
I don't have Sonic but I keep getting Thunder over & over again! I'm trying for nightshade but I keep getting Fungus!
Playing the game with minimal gem use is really tough, I'm glad I didn't have to play my main park this way! I have so much respect for the patience of those that have achieved everything without gem purchases. I know I couldn't do it!

After giving up last night and using some of my gem stash to speed up a couple of breeds, I finally got a 24 hour breed time in the EBI. Once it's finished I can move my Hail/Sonic pair to the EBI and use the EBC to start on some of the new hybrids. I don't need to try for Love, I still have several of them from when they were first released and I used them for shrines.

Condolences to those having poor luck, hoping it turns around soon.
I can see I'm going to get tired of 8hr fails pretty quickly while trying for amethyst. It's only been one day and I've already gotten 7 or 8 8hr breeds, (trying in both cave & island). At least a couple of them give decent dragon cash!

I'm sorry to say that ever since the last update, I haven't been able to load my park and see my dragons I play on a first gen iPad, so unless they figure out how to make things compatible or I find the money to upgrade, I won't be playing.
It's very sad, and I miss my dragons. That's a lot of hard work on my part not to be able to play anymore.
I feel for you, dragonmagick, and I hope they find a solution for us soon!

I really feel so sorry for everyone in this situation. DV is such a wonderful game, but I suppose as more is added, so more computational resources are needed to keep it going, and some older hardware just isn't going to cope.
It must be incredibly frustrating. I hope you will be able to get into your parks soon.

Hi all. I am brand spank new to the forum. Have no idea if I am posting in the right place, but here i go. Started playing last thanksgiving while enduring a brief hospital stay. Both my kids had been playing and I figured something to do laying in the bed. Cut to 2months later and a major addiction. Currently a level 26 park, just bought my 6th island. O rainbows, but have a sun, blue moon, bronze Olympus, garnet, and constantly breeding away asking tons of cool dragons.
Both my sons have their own parks, and since my oldest started on an android and we could not share gems with him (really came late to that concept) he and I started a new Park, using what we had learned to see how fast we could evel up and get moving. Been a lot of fun. Glad to find this forum!
At this point in time I hav two questions. First is a longer one. Early on I stumbled across an article somewhere that takes about breeding and genealogy-parenting dragons etc. I was trying to follow its advice, and at hs state of th game am not sure if it really was true. If not, made a lit more work for myself, but I still enjoyed.
Does breeding take into account the prior familial history of a dragon? Lets say I breed plant and fire and get a flower. Pure PF. Then I breed that with a lighting and get a firefly.
Symbols for firefly is lightning fire. LF. But is this firefly LF but also since one of its parents had a P, does that P count? Is this firefly then to be considered LFP for purposes of breeding, or is it a simple as a firefly is LF no matter whose its parents are?
Is this firefly different than one created say by a pure frostfire CF and lightning L (which according to this line of thought is CFL)
And by this same logic if i bred these two fireflies above and got a firefly I would get a firefly LFPC. Better breeding material Ina firefly.
Or is a firefly a firefly a firefly no matter how it came to be?
Pic you can't tell I have been trying to follow this logic while building my park (made sense to me-why notnkeepntrack and try to build bett dragons)
This article also said that dragons bred by higher level dragons were "better" for purposes of breeding. This statement falls into the same category. Do two level 10 dragons make a better dragon than two level 5 dragons?
Second question is: what are the better cooler dragons to try for breeding the dark? For some reason I am not having any real feelings on this one. Right now concentrating on jet and amethyst so until I get one of those my breeding caves are occupied.
