If it's any consolation I have promised 7 gems to 7th place in the next gem competition. But those slackers, the moderators, didn't record it on the front page. My pledge should have read 2,1,,,,,7,...,1 but they only put in 2,1

Got my first Mirage using Dark + Glass. Now trying for a baby of it before I move on to Shadow
Haven't seen any sign of Amethyst for its egg (since I got the dragon back when I wasn't collecting eggs).
Only need an egg for Winter so that will be held off until I get Amethyst/Mirage/Shadow straightened out. Still need the Light/Metal hybrids though... Although I love the Aliens reference in the Acid's description!

I've been trying dark + sand for mirage and light + root for shadow but had no luck so far. Those of you who were successful, could you tell me which were the winning combos?
No luck at all yet for shadow. I have my first mirage breeding from hypnotic + dark in the island.
Basically, i am using pairs that can give me other magic dragons that are missing from my line up.
Well, no koala here. I've been using Light + Cave and Dark + Sand.
Like sand in an hourglass, so pass the hours between breeding dragons. It's almost as if there is a glass wall preventing my from getting to these hybrids. I sometimes feel like I'm left in the dark trying to find the root of my koala problems. But I will not cave! There is a light at the end of this tunnel, and it is no mirage. I will not let a shadow of doubt stop me from getting these new dragons.

I thought about telling you to watch your use of gender specific terms, but then I decided that might spark some controversy. So I decided to remain as silent as a shadow.

Maybe I'm using the wrong dragon names as puns... However, malachite, ironwood, palladium, promethium, and miasma are slightly more difficult to use in casual conversation.

Seems like leveling my Ash to 14 increased chances of normal hybrids (Lots of 6 hour and 3 hour dragons)...

Saving up for EBI... Have 64 gems at the time of this post. Not going to put them to waste. Patience is a virtue. 60 hours doesn't seem that long if you are patient.
Hey DragonValers! We've learned that in order to comply with App guidelines, we can no longer use codes of any kind. This includes promotional codes and friend codes.
We are working to find a viable solution that meets current requirements, but in the mean time we have to remove friend codes entirely from DragonVale.
Does anyone know of now friend codes have if we will still get rewards when they level up?
BFS stated that you will no longer receive any gems when one of your FC users levels up. Looks like their unplugging the entire code system.
Oops I have been encouraging my husband to dragon race all evening to level up to get me last 5 gems for EBI! He now has repetitive strain injury and is a bit cross. Rotten timing for me ...... And him

Maybe your puns are helping me. I believe I just bred a Mirage! (Though one cannot be too careful with these dragons.)
