Oh, I just love Moonstruck. The wings are amazing. I used Love (15) + Rose (15) on the island (EBS) and it worked twice! I do think luck is in the air for my park right now... During BeB it was not...I bred for Panlong almost constantly and ended up buying him. Keep on trying and koala!

Personally, I kinda like the idea and hope there will be more combinations like this.
Overall, it could be very exciting, but it could also be very stressful, especially for newer players.
However, I think I would have introduced the concept a bit differently.
The combination of a small breeding window with multiple 48h+ fails seems like a poor choice for a first run.
I will not be at all surprised if they have a gem sale this weekend as those factors combined will almost certainly generate revenue.
Keep in mind, they did warn us that we might one day be able to breed epic dragons with non epic dragons…
This also reinforces that it’s a good idea to keep two of each breedable dragon, even after the breeding rule changes.
I'm excited about this prospect of using limited dragons, although I did have a mini panic attack when I learnt that the Moonstruck would only be available for such a short time. As a player who only goes for one dragon plus one egg, I'm lucky that I had a Love and a Rose stashed away in my HC.
Actually BS, did they specifically say that we might be able to breed epics with non-epics? I understood from the letter that only epics of different elements could interbreed. But it's still open for interpretation, even on BFS's side.
With the upcoming quarterly gemstone dragon this weekend, we're getting a whole lot of new dragons. I'm hoping for more golden hybrids once this deluge dies down.

I have been moonstruck, too... egg is incubating in big park's nursery. SUCH a pretty egg. Cave is blocked with a 38:24. Trying to be patient, saving gems to buy out the island and keep trying.
Second DR is blocking the island in park 2. Even less gems there, not enough to buy that out...

Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...
Well out of gems and so far I've gotten two double rainbows, one rainbow and a seasonal, finally got a moonstruck but now hatchery is full, guess I just have to wait it out to try for one more for my egg display. Then I'm back trying for gold snowy Olympic dragon - no luck there.
You really got hit hard with the bad luck stick! Congrats for having a Moonstruck in that mess.
I wonder if the Moonstruck Dragon's breeding requirement of Love and Rose means that future limited dragons for special occasions will also require the previously released limited dragons to breed? Like maybe a Ghost and Bone for the next Halloween dragon, or a Mistletoe and Reindeer for Christmas? Perhaps this is one of the changes we'll see in DV 2.0.

Will be interesting to see how much success there is by the deadline. All those long fails are going to take their toll. Can see the villagers firing up their torches and storming the castle because of the very short breeding window. We'll see. No joy for me yet, but so far have avoided the epic long fails. You know one, or more, are on the way now that this has been said.

You are correct, they did only mention new possibilites for Epic + Epic Breeding combinations. I misremembered... and may have been projecting a bit.
I was contemplating that Clover + Celtic would be the next double limited combo for an upcoming holiday, since they never actually released a second dragon for Easter.
Of course, there's nothing to say that if they did a new St Paddy's or Easter dragon, they wouldn't use one of the existing limited dragons as a parent. No rule states that they have to have two...
Too bad we didn't have a last call comp for this guy. I'm sure somebody could have used it. (I hope it's not me.) I also hope I don't regret entering the quarterly gemstone comp. This dragon is tough. I would love to say that I already had two, or even one. However, it would not be true. Instead, when I rose this morning I bred a 60 hour, which can join the 39 hour already in my cave. I am definitely not moonstruck. I am just sad not to be the owner of this new dragon. I hope that changes soon.

In regard to the next gemstone dragon contest, maybe we can hold off the contest after Moonstruck leaves the market.
Well after the disappointment of getting a DR under such dire time restraints, I put my secondary Love and Rose together and am now the happy owner of one Moonstruck with a second being bred.

Is anyone having trouble with the android version after the Moonstruck addition? My park crashes if I try to open Dragons or Decorations in the Market. Everything else seems fine. I've powered my phone off/on a couple of times. Before I resort to reinstalling DV I thought I would check. One good thing - Rose finally showed up in my second park.
I'm on Android and not having any problems, however I also just upgraded my phone. What OS are you using?

Thanks for your input. Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). I decided to trust that my park would be saved in facebook so I uninstalled and reinstalled. That cleared up whatever was going on. l
I was quite excited at the prospect of a diversion from my pursuit of the Shadow dragon, especially as the Moonstruck is so pretty.
Second try in the EBI and I have a DR! Spent quite a few gems to move dragons through the cave, and then struck a 48hr. It couldn't happen twice in a row, I thought. So i used precious gems to incubate what turned out to be a Seasonal, and then I find out - it CAN happen twice in a row!
Now my hatchery is going to be plugged up with a DR and two 48 hours, leaving me only one spot free for another shot in a couple of days time, and I'm betting that one will also be a long term fail.
Only 11 people have voted in the December POTM competition. My guess is that everyone is having trouble deciding which post is best. Since you have less than a day left, I think you need to go cast your vote now.

These fails are brutal!! Was thinking there is no way I can keep getting more Rainbow & Seasonal hits yet hit them I do. I can't complain too much I was one of those lucky people to get Moonstruck on my second try (after a Rainbow speed up). I'm trying for my display egg and emptied out a Rainbow & Seasonal to get two nice short fails followed by.... you guessed it... another long fail!! I'm not rushing any of these fails as I'm planning to buy my display egg for 150 gems on Sunday night once I'm sure I can't get it through breeding.
Hope others are having better luck!

I have one Moonstruck and many many fails. Epic fails include 2 DRs, 2 Seasonals, and one more 48hr fail yet to be determined. This combination is a doozy.
Edit: got my second MS. Epic fails include 2 DRs and 4 Seasonals. Spent 400 or so gems.
