I disagree, a real life Kairos would be a catastrophe.
I once saw a film about a man who was given a remote control to go ahead in his own time. It began with a speeding when he was ill, but later he sped up more and more to find out at his end that he had missed at least half of his life.
This is like the wish of man to control the weather.
I hope, it never will come true.

Huh, I expected the gemstone to be swapped in when everything else. Maybe we'll get the new one tomorrow. I think BFS was designing so many new dragons that they forgot about the gemstone!

I have been playing DV for a year now! Wow first game I have ever stuck with this long....but I need my amethyst plleeeaaasssseeee....... last one and my birth stone collection will be finished. Of course need both dragon and egg which I haven't had any luck with. Did snag one moonstruck.... koala to everyone...finished with my whine...lol

Just an update post regarding our forum. If you look at my mini-profile - to the left - you will notice there is now a slot that shows what platform a member is using. It's very hard to remember who plays on which platform, so we have created a reminder. Feel free to add this information to your profile.
Go to Profile>Edit Profile>Personal Tab. Waaaay down at the bottom of the page is a box to declare which platform you play DragonVale on. Thanks to crumble608 for the suggestion.

Koala to you too! It's my birthstone and I've had NO luck all month. Got a moon fail, moon fail, and a sun fail--all in a row! Both sites working. These dragons are pretty lazy!

Yay! Mine is around this week too. Still missing few gemstone eggs, Clover, and Bearded dragons. Though I did not join DV comm. few months later, but I like to say Thank You to the members of this forum, you guys truly spice up DV in so many different ways. 

Now...where is BS dragon, possibly.  My breeding sites, and nursery have been idled since Monday night.

During the last week I sometimes had difficulties visiting friends.
I try to solve this problem by diminishing my friends list.
Please don't be offended if I unfriended you.
It's not because I don't want to stay in contact with you but to get along with this big fat app.

I have a question which I would like some opinions on if any of you have time;

I have two friends on my regular gem gifting list that I trade gems with...one somewhat trade regularly - one off and on...this is okay with me, however they are on apple and I am on Android...I know they haven't upgraded their devices and I haven't heard from them for two weeks. Now I know they were patient with me when I was down, but knowing them the way I do (they have never and will never support the game financially-which they easily could do), I doubt that they will upgrade. So the question is (drum roll) how long should I keep sending gems to them when I could connect with someone here that really needs them? Thoughts and thanks in advance for your input.

P.S. I appreciate the gems that are sent to me but I have a nice stash and it isn't my priority to have them returned I just hate to waste sending them when others could use them.

I usually give someone a couple weeks, then I'll stop sending gems and wait a couple more weeks to see if they start back up again before giving up on them completely.

P.S. I'm on Android and would be happy to be a gem partner. I can't promise to return every day as I have about 9 people I trade with regularly, but you would get one every 2-3 days...

Apple's setup is a bit weird, in that if you haven't updated your app (which costs nothing), friends who HAVE updated may no longer appear on your friends list. In fact, they may be receiving those gems from what appears to be nowhere--an account with no name attached. And if they don't realize this, they may have no idea the solution is as simple as updating.

Assuming you have no other way of contacting them (I have a few like this myself), I'd visit their islands a few days running to see if they're active. If not, move on. They may show back up at some point. One of my once-regular trading partners just turned back up after a year's absence from the game--first I knew of it was a gem that arrived out of the blue this week. I returned it, and now we're back to daily so far.

If their islands still appear active, then perhaps scatter your gems to those in need for a few days. Maybe pitch a gem their way every few days just to let them know you're still around, and eventually they'll update...whereupon like most of us, their friends list will suddenly repopulate and they'll feel like total idiots.

They are still on my friends list, islands don't look active--I believe they updated and can't get in--thanks for all the advice.

I have regular gem partners and a few that I send and receive from sporadically. Lately, my game crashes when I go to the social tab so I'm having trouble sending and receiving gems. I feel bad for my gem buddies and hope this is resolved soon.

This is what happened to me, then it crashed if I bred dragons. Now I can't open the app at all I miss my dragons

I have had issues with unreliable internet so I was pleasantly surprised to be able to log in today, and doubly pleased to find I'd bred a second Moonstruck right before I lost contact. Hopefully I'm back in the game and we'll get a new dragon now that I'm back to trying for Mirage.
