What is the difference between the upgraded rainbow, which seems to be a huge pot; and the large rainbow hab you can buy which is also big but looks different. Has anyone upgraded?
It's a grassy area with a pot of gold and two rainbows. It's not the huge pot of gold with a giant rainbow.
This. The graphic you see when you click on upgrade is just a placeholder image. It will look the same once the 6 hours is up.
I need storage!!!!!! Come on DV - how about a floating Christmas stocking we can store all these goodies in while we rearrange our islands? Or a special Christmas themed Island?
Yes, yes, yes! We need storage space. C'mon, this is Amurrica, land of the consumer.
;D
I was wondering what we're supposed to do with all the holiday items we purchase after the holiday is over. Would be REALLY nice to be able to store them until the next year.
I am really glad that there are so many happy DVers breeding up a storm right now. Personally, I am really disappointed that BFS caved into the whining of unsuccessful breeders and also reared their ugly money hungry heads.....how much do you think they will mKe this "giving season" in gem purchases? I have no problem with people purchasing gems and/or eggs- I do it. I also spend lots of gems and money to make sure I get the Limited dragons during the appropriate time. I can't help feeling just a little cheated that all my sleepless nights, worrying, careful planning and money spent was for what? If I had known that BFS was not going to stand by their claim of Limited I would not have worked so hard. It is pretty hard to respect a company that doesn't respect it's customers.......just my two cents worth. No offence to anyone intended.
Just wrote a long post basically agreeing with you, Pat, but it wouldn't post I think the only one that should have been re-released in its original form is the Leap Year dragon, because leap year is an entire year. Otherwise, there's nothing special about the limiteds or about having played the game for a long time. BFS has devalued the limiteds & rares, in a sense. But I do hope that everyone now gets the ones they really want. I sure wish we would get another island so I could take advantage of some of the new habitats without having to completely dismantle my existing designs, which I'm not ready to do yet.

Hi Everyone. I love being able to get all the limited! This morning alone I have gotten x2 blue moon x2 leap year x1 solstice x1 bloom x1 butterfly x1 solar eclipse and x2 reindeer. I also have 2 breeding with 23 & 24hr breed times, havent checked to see what they are yet. I have used gems to speed up breeding but haven't bought any of the dragons. although I am considering buying the pesky apocolypse! Having a great day on DV!
This must be my lucky day. After countless frustrating failed attempts for a Pan with Fog/Lava, I took a chance and used Mud/Smoke and got it first time out! FINALLY!!

Hello and welcome! You have had a very good morning indeed! Is the Apocalypse the only one you are missing now?

As all limiteds would be coming back anyway (with the possible exception of Paper) I don't see the difference in bringing them back as a Christmas Surprise. My way of playing has always been Not to spend gems on speeding up breeding fails because all dragons would be returning at some point. To say that you wouldn't have stressed about getting an Emerald in May if you knew it was coming back in Christmas rather than next May doesn't sound right to me.
Annoying Leap Year failures while trying for Apocalypse!!
I looked through the posts and have pretty much confused myself. What has been the most successful combo for Leap Year? I don't even have a Rainbow yet. Sigh...my "green" is starting to show.

All combos have the same % success rate. The only difference is how long you wait for the fails to finish. Plant, Fire, Cold and Lightning is the 4 element combo with the shortest fails, so Cactus + Bluefire, Lichen + Firefly, Flower + Storm ... something like that.

All valid points, but it's a game, and the point is to have fun. I could understand disgruntlement if the dragons were worth money or something, like baseball cards or ten dollar bills. The only thing you lost is bragging rights, and even bragging rights are meaningless when there is no actual competition involved in the game to begin with (since leaderboards are useless due to jailbreakers and cheaters). Personally, I'm delighted to have a second chance at the Paper dragon, and an egg or two I missed. If my park can be made complete, I'll be satisfied. Doesn't matter to me who else has what.

Still missing quite a few.
Still need seasonal sakura firework rainbow sun exquinox love lunar eclipse apocolypse and I only have emerald, topaz and turquoise gemstone dragons. I expect to have the rest of the gemstone dragons by the end of the week, I seem to be very very lucky breeding those. The others wont take me long, apart from love, I havent actually tried for them yet. I seem to get whatever I'm trying for in 3 to 5 breedings. Rainbow I have been trying for weeks with no luck, and apocolypse and sun dont seem to want to join my island lol. They are the only 3 giving me any trouble. I don't know quite how the game works, but I seem to have a very lucky island.I'm loving it because in other games I don't seem to have too much luck at all. I dont suppose 2 leap years would give me a chance at rainbow?

Oi! Since when have the baby rainbow dragons been able to fly? I thought they just hopped...then I see my lil' KellyJo flying through the freaking air! Am I just the last to know? Or am I hallucinating?

Wow. Where to start? So many dragons, so many combos and I'm down to 500 gems. Between Christmas and going to Mexico next month- I didn't want to buy more gems for a while. But I will because I must have my dragons.... All of them.
Just discovered the Large Rainbow Habitat. Awesome.
New Island must surely be just around the corner.
That was the coolest thing of all....Changes the shrine grind earning power again.
I had about 500 gems collecting dust...two LYD's and one solstice burned through them. Also hit a gold and lunar with the fails. I'll wait for the rest...

I agree with you guys in principal...and I don't have quite a few of the limiteds including LYD's. I liked going to islands and seeing dragons that wereN't available to me knowing I would have to wait till net time was part of the fun. Can't say I ever sweated getting them though......there is always next time.

I disagree.
Although I've been critical of them at times, my sense is that Backflip Studios has done a very nice job of balancing generation of revenues with the ability to play the game without paying (ask Fletch). They are a for profit enterprise after all, and they have made it possible to have a good time playing DV withou having to pay, unlike other developers in the freemium space who are downright rapacious.
And it doesn't diminish anyone's achievements in the game to give everyone a chance to catch up on dragons they have missed and to repurchase decorations they may have regretted discarding.
In fact, I think it's generous and in the holiday spirit.
And no, I have no involvement with BFS other than as a DV addict.

Omg I'm sick of leap year already. Leap year number 6, I'm getting it as a fail for flipping everything! LOL
