So I have inadvertently left off #9 and it was a great POTM. However I can't change the poll so I'm making room for a write in. . Cyn has an excellent way to snooker I mean get little ones to help get magic. Nominated by ukwildcats4ever. [/size] Add your write in to this thread and I will do the math but I'm gonna count on BS to check it for me. He needs to earn his money after all. Lol
With the new month, comes a new installment of POTM. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can't pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post
and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste. You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were. Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod. On November 1st (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favourite thread. You'll have about a week to vote. So about the 7th of November we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. And now Crystals. The mods will give a gem and a crystal (if they're playing Gizmonauts) to both of the people that win the poll.
So, to sum up. - Make good posts. - Nominate good posts. - Vote for posts. - Profit.

Have been thinking about a Dragonvale Update with regards to the Simpsons Tapped Out game. They recently expanded by adding Krustyland to the game, essentially adding another layer of the same thing. In the Simpsons game, Springfield has bee destroyed by a nuclear explosion at the nuclear power plant. You clear the debris and rebuild the buildings, and with some of the buildings you get a town inhabitant. The recently added a shuttle to Krustyland. When you get there you have to clear that land and rebuild the rides and side show attractions. This is great because it meant long time players suddenly had a whole new aspect to the game to play. And the clever thing was, they added a new currency. because long term players would be earning so much cash they introduced Krustyland tickets, so that they wouldn't have a super advantage of new players. They would still have to start with low earning buildings like you do at the beginning of the game.
So ... I was thinking, how could BFS introduce the same thought of thing, giving long term players some new term goals. They talk about "The Scar of the World" a lot in DV, so how about introducing a way to travel through the Scar to a new world where you need to breed anew set of dragons. To make it different, this new section of the game would take place underground. You need to clear caverns, in a mining type of way, or shore up walls to prevent lava coming though. And as you go up levels you get the opportunity to create more caverns. Perhaps the pure element dragons can come down into the Scar of theWorld or maybe you have a totally new species. It would be good if there was some overlap, but I guess it wouldn't be necessary.
Anyway, that's my idea for an extension of the game to give the long term players something to work at.
I would try this, but I am now completely unable to log in. This is what we get for allowing the Wizards to convince us to poke at an unstable rift in the fabric of the universe.
Nope, I even timed it. I am VERY quick though. Here are a few tips to make it as quick as possible:
- Leave at least one 'seed' bush. That way once you are ready to start buying again, you don't have to go to the market - just click that bush and press 'buy another'. - Keep hitting 'buy another' and let them grow naturally. If they don't go where you want, then create an area to place them where they WILL grow where you want. Moving them around wastes heaps of time. Generally they'll grow in a north-east direction, so planting lines in this direction is quickest - When selling, it is quickest to sell lines in a south-east direction - less distance to move your fingers between the bush and the 'sell' button - Another point to add, the game lags quite a bit. And my park is not particularly decorated. I imagine in a thoroughly decorated park, it lags even more and would slow it down considerably. To somewhat mitigate this, it helps if you zoom in to the max level of zoom when buying /selling (but selling in particular).
You need to be very quick to get 200 in 15 minutes, but it is definitely doable.
I've been following this back and forth between you two with much amusement. All I can say is, RANK AMATEURS! Did you two lads not read Tom Sawyer during your formative years? There is an easier way.
1. Bake cookies. a. First day I made the mistake of baking chocolate chip. Spent more time cleaning the chocolate out of the seams of my iPad than I would have planting the bushes myself. b. Lesson learned. Day two made sugar cookies, much better! 2. Procure a wee child, preferably between the ages of 3 and 5. a. Younger than 3 and you risk them selling off half your park before you can stop them. b. Older than 5 and you'll have to listen to, "This is boring!" 3. Cordon off a section of an island and show them how to plant buses. a. Tell them, "Look, you're creating Magic!" b. Reward them with cookies for the plantings. 4. Show them how to clear the bushes. a. Tell them, "Look at all the money you're making!" b. Reward them with cookies for the clearing. A few extra tips: x. If you are not into baking the stores currently have huge bags of Halloween candy. NO chocolate! See 1. a. above. y. Make sure it is a child you can send home to another house. Don't want to deal with the sugar rush later. z. Regarding 2., be sure to have permission from the wee ones parental units. The law frowns upon it otherwise.

I told them to produce an amber today, and I told them that if they did, I would convince you to throw a party for them in celebration. I also reminded them that if they wanted to hang out with their friends again, they should stop being stubborn b/c the sooner they produced an amber, the sooner they could rejoin their friends. They said they understood and would behave, giving up their stubborn, uncooperative ways. Report to Mod - Link to Post - Back to Top Logged GCID: LIKYLIND
In both DV and gizmos I use my spare gems and crystals mostly for helping those in need. If I give you a gift, you don't need to return it, and if you decide to give me a gift, I will assume you don't expect one in return.
'All around my hat, I will wear the green-and-purple Willow And all around my hat, for a twelve month aand a day... And if anyone should ask me, the reason why I'm wearing it, It's all for my truelove Zombie, who's far, far away...'

I saw it Lady J and figured out what you were trying to do. Lol. I knew who said it, what the quote was, and who POTM'd it. Those are the important things so it's all good. I always check out your POTM posts to help you along.
Next time after you POTM the quote post it, hit the quote button again. Then you copy everything and move here to this thread to paste it.
