Belated Happy Birthday Myke!
I was busy yesterday... My wife and I decided to paint our front door a shade of rust red. When the paint was mixed at the store I thought it looked a little, umm, pink. The clerk told me it might look a little light at first but that it would darken with the second coat. After two days of masking and painting both my wife and I thought it looked a little, umm, pink, but we both conspired to suspend disbelief. Later in the day our son and daughter-in-law stopped by (they live around the corner) with our two beloved granddaughters, 7-year old Lilly and 4-year old Alli.
Alli looked the door and with great enthusiasm exclaimed, "Nana and Poppy, your front door is pink!" Kind of stripped away the fog of disbelief.
As much as Alli loves pink, I'm afraid we're going to have to disappoint her. It's back to masking and painting. The Hello Kitty look is cute in a way, but it doesn't quite fit into our neighborhood.
