Happy Birthday (belated), Poppy! Hope you had a wonderful day & those around you made you feel special. Salley: Having a child so sick with something like that is so scary! Thank God he is better! To all those affected by the tornados: we are all so sorry you are having to go through something like that. What I've seen on tv is literally stunning. Many people are praying for your recovery & contributing to organizations to help with that.
Last night, while sitting in my family room, I heard a loud sound like the wind really blowing through the trees & then the house began to creak & slowly move. It took a second or two for me to realize that we were having an earthquake. The last one that felt that strong here was back in the '70's. Even the Loma Prieta quake didn't feel that strong where I live, as I remember. The estimate is 5.7, which isn't strong enough to cause a lot of damage. But this all has made me think about how quickly life can change, and how poorly prepared my family is for a disaster. We have been very complacent & are going to have to change that.
