You enter another Dragonvale player's code and you both get free gems.

How to use friend codes:
Seeing as I have the first post in this thread, I'll explain here how the friend codes work.
After updating the app, you will receive a unique friend code. If another player enters this code, you will receive gems equal to the redeemer's park level (rounded down to the nearest 5).
e.g. Player at Level 48 redeems your code = You receive 45 gems
Player at Level 20 redeems your code = You receive 20 gems
You will then receive an additional 5 gems every time that player moves up to the next multiple of 5. This means that regardless of the level of the player who uses your code, if they eventually get to level 50, you will receive 50 gems in total.
You can also get the gems for sharing on facebook and twitter every time someone uses your code, or whenever a player who used your code moves up to the next multiple of 5 (e.g. 15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50)
Codes can only be used by players who have a park level of at least 10.
To redeem a code yourself, you follow the usual process to redeem codes (either go to 'social' and 'redeem code', or go to 'options' and 'redeem code').
Regardless of the code you redeem, you will receive 25 gems. However, you can only redeem ONE code. It doesn't matter who's code you redeem - they will all give you 25 gems.

Hey DragonValers! We've learned that in order to comply with App guidelines, we can no longer use codes of any kind. This includes promotional codes and friend codes.
We are working to find a viable solution that meets current requirements, but in the mean time we have to remove friend codes entirely from DragonVale.
