I rename duplicate names after forum members, so I currently have a Bloodston (not enough characters for the e), Buffy, and Lemmy. Perhaps a few more. You'll all have avatars in my park at some point
That's a cool idea! Next Rust dragon (even if he has to hibernate) will be "Artkat". I did like the default name "Nessy".
Besides Buffy was a Vampire Slayer, she never became one did she?
Dont think she did. The main character was Sarah Michelle Gellar, cute and pretty.
The funny thing is that...My nick is named after my dog, a female Maltese, she died few years ago due to liver disease. Buffy was named after a bear (X-mas's mascot of one the department stores in San Diego, CA). They had this one giant white bear sitting on top of the roof as a promotion/marketing.

I must admit, I'm curious what breed of dragon shares (most of) my nom de guerre...?
I named my first Rainbow after you, after you helped explain so much to my noob self.
@lemmy, I think you are a copper dragon
Edit: combed through my park, and I have Lion the Opal dragon, and Fletch the Solar Eclipse.

Great thread.
Initially I was naming them after players of the football team I follow, Brisbane Roar (I'm wearing their orange and maroon jersey in my avatar). Soon ran out there. A little later I went with Elements of the Periodic Table in the order they were released. I have run out there as well.
lol..love it! Hope it's one cute, and pretty dragon.
I think you're a Leap Year, but if you'd prefer to be a Bloom or something in particular, that can happen. I tend to keep forum names to duplicate epics...I would feel guilty forcing you all to breed with one another.

Fletch, the one and only, who would name the dragons after the Periodic Table's Elements. Though I love chemistry, I could not, in a million years, have thought of that. Just curious, how do you recall which dragons were named which...ie. I named my Love dragons (2), Romeo and Juliet, and Century (1) was named Confucius. I can relate the dragons to the names.

For my regular dragons, I pick names that start with the same first couple of letters as their type, to make them easy to find for breeding and such. For example, one of my Quake dragons is Quantum. For my rare dragons, I pick names that reflect their nature - my Sun Dragon is Apollo, and my Moon Dragon is Artemis.

GCID- peanutzmom:) And yes, you need to include the smiley face
I give gems randomly to those who seem to need them because I'm not organized enough to keep a list, but I'm always looking for more Party Hat friends!

Ha! I follow your general rule, so that my Apollo was my first apocalypse, followed by Apollonia, Apple and Apaplectc
I am very lazy and i don't have imajination what so ever. I just named my dragons with their own true names. So, love dragons is love, rose dragon is rose, and so on. I hope by using their true names, they will obey me in producing the dragon i need. Honestly, i always get the dragons that i want relatively easy. Except ouros. But i have it now. Hehehe....

This is basically what I do also. Some of my gem dragons, though, have the names of family members who have birthdays in that month.
My blizzard dragon is PolrVortx (pronounced polar vortex) since that seems to be the theme of this winter on the east coast (midwest too I gather). I have a storm dragon named Noreaster, which may be coming on Sunday they say.

It was my daughters idea originally, so I can not take credit for thinking of it.
And no way I could remember which was which. If I need to find a specific breed I use the filter to search for them.
My storms are named Sandy & Katrina. I, too, named a glacier Titanic Ghosts are Casper & Captain Mountains are Fuji & Everest Raindeer are Vixen & Blitzen River is Denial
Everyone else got named what they were. Although i still think of them with thier original names which sadly i remember them all. So when i need to breed water with lightning i think Bubbles and Tempest. Lol.

I name almost every single one of my dragons something profane, vulgar, and usually sexual. And I try to make it suit the dragon I'm naming XD
Clean-ish ones I can say on the forum are my Lotus Dragon is "Stripper", my Carnival Dragon is "Twerk", Seaweed Dragon... "Weed". My coral Dragon is named "Virgin". My rainbow dragons are named gay and other un-politically correct versions of the word. Except my double rainbow. He is "bisexual". Sprout dragon is "threesome". Bone Dragon... "Boner". you get the idea. Basically every not-okay thing to name them.
Hope I didn't cross any forum guidelines there. If so, sorry! I gave effort to say the most harmless of the names, ones which I thought I'd be allowed to say here. And say I'm "disgusting" if you want, it's your right to do so. Be mad at me about how I name my dragons, sure, whatever. It amuses me to assign names like this, so I will continue to do so. What I want to know is, does anyone else name any of their dragons like this at all? COME ON BROTHERS! WE NO LONGER NEED TO HIDE IN THE SHADOWS! XD! But actually I'm curious if I'm alone here or not...
