Gosh, where to start?
At the beginning, my first dragon was called Fern. My fire dragon was (and still is) Dracaerys after the command that Danaerys uses to make her dragons breathe fire at her command (first aGoT reference).
When my first Gift dragon hatched, he became Presence. My second, again a gift from BFS, I named Myrrth. My Mistletoes are Mistel and Bisous, French for kisses. I do have a reindeer called Rudolph, and the other is Nanuk. My first Winter is Hiver, I have not yet found a good name for the second, Verne.
Keeping the seasonal theme going, I have Herne and Mabigion in their winter coats. Eismeer and Aletsch, Glaciers, keep company with Shrekhorn and Eiger, Mountains. Spellings can be constricted, due to space constraints. So, I have a Fluttabye.
Other dragon names prompted by the type are Tabasco and Cayenne (Pepper), Kilauea and Tolbachik (Lava), Rhiannon and Morrigan (Celtic), Omega and Magog (Apocalypse), Hydra and Anemone (Coral), Calico and Indienne (Cotton), Origami (Paper).
I'll post some more, literary references and lookalikes, anon.

My first plant dragon came out as Monty, so his companions are now Python, Flying and Circus. Many of my basic hybrids are named after a certain attribute so I have Wispy (snow), Sneaky (crystal), Beaky (plasma) and many more. My loves are Aphrodite and Venus, my Sakura are Cherry and Blossom, my centuries (I have 5 turbo babies and a grown one) are Armée, Dilly, Ello, Kraken, Leviathan and Book.
I have a smattering of LotR names- Treebeard (tree), Bilbo (moss), Galadriel (bloom), the entire Firefly crew, some names from Pern and have started on Disney canon for the new light/dark hybrids.

Currently breeding for whatever twins I can possibly get my hands on
I like to select themed groups. I'm pretty interested in languages so I set up a system of naming my standard hybrids where:
Plant = Portuguese Earth = Finnish Fire = Italian Cold = Icelandic Lightning = Latin Water = Spanish Air = French Metal = German And more recently, Light = Polish Dark = Czech
For example, I have Vapeur my Smoke dragon (fire & air). It could have gotten either a French or Italian name, but I choose French for that one.
My LE's and epics have various other names, again usually with a theme:
All my gemstones are named after that month's flower like Rose, my Pearl dragon or Aster, my Sapphire Some regular hybrids are exceptions because I couldn't resist, like Bruce, my gamma and Banner, my malachite

My names are much more boring. mostly I keep the original names. My original Plant dragon was auto-named 'Number1'. He is still there. I do draw the line at 'Bottom Feeder' though. When I do rename, I tend to follow the whim of the moment Several of suns are Rigel, Vega, Arcturus etc Likewise, I have Phobos, Deimos, Io etc. Two of my Pans are Pam and Ella. (My SO is Pamela. ) My top earners for the collesseum are Able, Ace, Adam, Amp, Asus, Bloodie etc. mistletoe is Baci Ouroboros. Is Igli Apocalypse are Gog and Magog. Plasma is Errol Ash is Nobby Rose is Phedre
Oddly, despite being a big fan of all things Pernese, I have never used any references there.

Some of my dragons were born on business trips so they got city names. But generally, I tweak the species in other languages (a steel dragon called "Acier", a forest dragon called "Walder" or a fire dragon called "Foc"). Helps me keep focused.
My Apocalypse got called "Quetzal". I loved the Maya theme on him. Ourobouros is "Ragnarok".

Back when Panlong dragons were the thing, and I had a bagillion of them, I named as many as I could after knights of the round table. My level 20 Panlong was named Arthur. Later, I leveled up a Sakura to level 20 and named her Guenevere. I leveled up another Panlong to 19 and named him Lancelot. I had to wait a very long time for a suitably villainous dragon to be released. I named my Dark Rift dragon Mordred and leveled him up to level 20. I leveled up a Love dragon to level 20 and named her Morgan Le Fay.
Yep ... if you didn't think I was cool before... then I'm probly never gonna be cool to you.

Mine are going to sound so lowbrow in comparison. I tried to keep the first two or three letters of the type, so I could easily find them in my lists. That results in some ordinary human names, like Ira, Cooper, Eva, Luther ... but I do have a

I haven't named many of my dragons, I kind of like the random names. The tutorial forces you to name your first plant dragon, so mine got named First. I rename duplicate names after forum members, so I currently have a Bloodston (not enough characters for the e), Buffy, and Lemmy. Perhaps a few more. You'll all have avatars in my park at some point
Dragons to breed: Clover, Sakura, Diamond, Peridot, SOly, GOly, Bronze and Silver SnOlys, DR, Malachite, and four light and dark hybrids.
I lack imagination when it comes to name. I did name some of my dragons, the min I hatched them.
Sakura (6) - Pebbles, BammBamm, Fred, Wilma (Flintstones), Kyoto, Tokyo (was in those cities during the Cherry Blossom festival)
Lotus (11) - H. Hesse (Siddhartha), Purity, C. Monet (Waterlilies)
Butterfly (2) - Papillon, H. Charriere
Mushroom (1) - Shiitake
Love (2) - Romeo, Juliet
Glass (2) - Murano (island in Italy famous for glass making), Romero (name of a hot, cool artist, glassmaker in Murano). Had a chance to visit Venice, Italy one summer, tons of memmories.
Root (1) - Purple yam
Oly (5) - Homer, Iliad, Odyssey
Century (1) - Confucius
Lunar Eclipse (6) - Appa (Avatar, the Last Air Bender)
Moon (4) - Armstrong, Aldrin, Collins

I'm quite honored!
I heard that Lemmy is an autoname for metal dragons. I'd like to think that BFS know about me and how hardcore I am and decided that there ought to be some harcore tailsteppin' dragons out there named Lemmy.
(Note: I am totally harcore!!! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise )

I named my adult Mine Dragon Lemmy, as it somehow reminded me of Mr Kilmister. I also named my Peridots Geilgud and Olivier, because they looked like luvvy actors strutting across a stage. And of course, the Gamma dragons just HAVE to be Arnie and Hulk. When I finally bred an Opal, it had to be called Lion.
