With the new month, comes a new installment of POTM. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can't pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post
and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste. You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were. Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod. On April 1st (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favorite thread. You'll have about a week to vote. So about the 7th of April we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. The mods will pay the winners.
This contest is for everyone however payment can only be made to the iOS platform at this time. If you are a winner and use android you can select a recipient you would like your gem to go to. So you can be a winner and all 'round good guy.
So, to sum up. - Make good posts. - Nominate good posts. - Vote for posts. - Profit.
Have done literally thousands of test breedings over the course of a limited dragon and am certain there is nothing to the floodgate theory. Sometimes they do come in clumps, but there is no pattern to that, either, statistics just do that. Sometimes those clumps come at the beginning of the breeding season, but mostly not. We want the floodgate theory to be true, but it just isn't.
Well, another day where Aquamarine and Carnival elude me. I did manage to snag my first Clover today. I've decided I'm not trying for lapis until at least April, and I had gotten a Celtic during BEB, so the second on that can wait. So it's Carnival and Aquamarine attempts over and over. So far my longest fail has been the 14 hour tree with Pepper/Moss, and strangely I've only gotten one false positive Moss. I just wish the egg with the pretty waves and the bright purple/yellow/green egg would make an appearance!
O Carnival, Carnival! Wherefore art thou Carnival? Defy thy parents and find thy home in my park.
What’s in a name? That which we call a party dragon By any other word would be as bright. So Carnival would, were he not Carnival called, Retain that dear perfection which he owes Without that title. Carnival, doff thy shy demeanor, And for this moment, which is awaiting thee, Join all our parks.
After the Aquamarine, after the doubled heads, After the crystalline tails hid beneath water so blue, Above, a myriad myriad dragons hastening, lifting up their necks, Flying in intricate formation toward the island of gems, Waves of the pond bubbling and gurgling, blithely prying, Waves, undulating waves, liquid, uneven, emulous waves, Toward that whirling Aquamarine, laughing and cavorting around her curves. Where the lovely Aquamarine swimming and jumping displaces the surface, Larger and smaller waves in the spread of the pond artfully flowing, The wake of Aquamarine after she passes, flashing and frolicsome under the sun. A Motley procession with many a jingle of bells and many headstands, Following the stately and royal Aquamarine, in her wake following.
(The first, of course is parodied from ShakespeareShakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. The second, for those that may not know it, is parodied from a poem by Walt Whitman.)

Haha, I've been breeding for an extra aqua this past week but I didn't realize I was using the wrong combo the whole time. Whoops. Looks like I am no longer a fountain of all DV knowledge. Too many dragons to keep track of all the combos!
This is commonly known as Dragon Overload - please refer to www.2084.org/dragonvale/breeding-sandbox/ for help along with the new Psychiatric Dragon that ElektronX will design and BFS will bring to DV to help us all.
POTM. Can't wait to see what ElectronX does with that idea!
Thought I'd share this here for all to enjoy, since most of you aren't in my Facebook list.
Every time my husband brings pizza home and I ask for just cheese, it's like I've blasphemed against some holy writ of pizza.
"Just cheese?" The god raised his hand and proclaimed "Thou shalt not eat pizza with cheese alone!" And the people looked at their boring pizzas and saw the error of their ways. Some rushed into the pasture and killed the fatted calf and the fatted boar, and from them made sausage and pepperoni and ham and bacon and many other wonderful meat toppings. Others ran into the fields and harvested the best vegetables and fruits and sliced them or chunked them to layer over the cheese and provide variety. And the god looked upon their offerings and was pleased, although he looked askance at the man offering a pie layered with ham and pineapple. But one girl alone stood before the god with her plain cheese pizza, and the god frowned. "JUST CHEESE?" He thundered.
Dark clouds rolled over the sky, and his eyes sparked with terrible fury, but the girl just smiled, a twinkle in her eye. "Even the most humble of pies is worthy of attention," she said, her sweet voice clearly heard in the awed hush that had fallen over the assemblage. "Did not the bread maker labor over the crust just as long? Did not the cheese maker ensure that the cheeses used were aged just right, mixed to provide the perfect flavor and to melt in an even layer? Did not the baker cook it just right, so the cheese had just started to brown, and the crust had risen to just the right moment, before taking it out of the oven and then letting it cool just long enough that it wouldn't burn the tongue?"
Tilting her head, the girl raised the cheese pizza, offering the god the first slice. Still frowning, he paused a moment, hand outstretched, and the crowd cringed, waiting for him to smite the girl for her blasphemy. But instead he took a piece, the cheese stretching in thin strings, clearly hot and fresh from the oven. He bit into it, continuing to frown at her as he slowly chewed, then pondered the slice in his hand for an eternal moment. Eventually the frightened people witnessed the slow smile that spread over his face. "This, too, is good, and shall be allowed!" He proclaimed, and the clouds rolled back, the sun shining brightly on the girl and the god. The assemblage cheered, and there was much rejoicing as the pizzas, both plain and exotic, were enjoyed by all.
Thank you, Wapatango! I'm sure you'll like the next
A Gem Shower is a wonderful event in our community where gems pour down on a member who may have a bit of trouble in their parks. Well, what may seem like a joyous occasion of generosity, a gem shower may be a bit different through the eyes of those who dwell in the parks of DV.
If I counted correctly, 5 out of the current 12 POTM nominations are drawings by ElektronX. I say this conclusively proves that we love his artwork. (It also means he has a really good shot at winning this competition for two months in a row.)
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

I see that Wapatango dances on the edge of winning. It's a fine line she walks, and even the smallest of quakes can earn her the bronze medal of third place.
Miskasmom is going for gold! With an olympic spirit and tenacious drive, she's aiming to become the mother of (Lapis) dragons.
Greg is trying to look at the Silver lining. His goal is crystal clear, but his old bones seem to be stuck in the mud
We're waiting for the next losers, ready with with thunderous applause! Though with this competition I don't think anyone is going to try and breed their Lapis with sonic speed.
Thanks, lemmyloop! And POTM
ETA: ANOTHER Crystal! I've begun speeding up fails to get to that Lapis that just has to be waiting for me. Unless as Greg says, it's mythical.

I had read through all the POTM nominees, thinking how many talented people there are in this community, & how hard it is to decide. But, I finally decided on E's dragon drawing video & came back to vote--no need,ElektronX won. Congrats! We do love your art!
The winners of the POTM for March is ElektronX showing movie of how she creates her drawings nominated by buffy.
Thank you mods, admin, and to the three that voted for this post.
