With the new month, comes a new installment of POTM. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can't pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post
and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste. You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were. Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod. On March 1st (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favorite thread. You'll have about a week to vote. So about the 7th of March we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. The mods will pay the winners.
So, to sum up. - Make good posts. - Nominate good posts. - Vote for posts. - Profit.

I am utterly outraged by GregDarcy's blatant abuse of power!!! How dare you sign me up for this competition without my consent, list such a ridiculous pledge, and place me in the loser list to boot. I humbly ask the other mods and admins to do some retraining for GregDarcy. Apparently, he does not understand his job. I also believe that there need to be consequences. I am well aware that we members of the billionaire club routinely send dragonade, zazzberry tarts, and other delicacies to the mod/admin lounge as a thank you for all their hard work. I believe that GregDarcy needs to be banned from enjoying them for at least a month, and even longer if he does not publicly offer his sincere, and abject apology for his actions. The best thing about this was that his sign-up didn't count since he didn't list my level. Ha, GregDarcy you can't even abuse power correctly!!
Since GregDarcy has incorrectly added me to this competition, I will now correctly join. I am level 55. My pledge is 1 gem to the winner (UNLESS GregDarcy wins in which case I will send 1 gem to second place) and 1 gem to lemmyloop no matter where she places in the competition for her wonderful show of support. It is encouraging to know that I have such a good friend on this forum.

As for myself, rather than seeing this as purchasing a thing, I see it as paying for an experience -- just like going to a movie. One gets nothing in hand with either. Hopefully though, one enjoys the experience of watching that movie, just like they enjoy playing DV -- and may even enjoy DV more by having the island. (Goodness knows how many times I have spent money on a movie or something for the purpose of pleasure / entertainment and not actually enjoyed it.)
This is my third year playing DV. The first year I bought gems a couple of times. Last year the only money I put in was 99 cents for the magic event. So this year I feel it's about time I could put in a few more bucks. I really do already enjoy the game, and having more land would be a very nice treat.
Since no one else grabbed it... POTM. This is hilarious. I can just imagine everyone making DV business cards. Maybe BFS should sell them and we could spend money on that instead of islands...

We appreciate feedback and ideas about the game. That being said, there are often technical limitations and reasons why things that many folks think, "THAT WOULD BE SO EASY AND COOL" are not possible. We'll do our best to comment on these ideas with realistic expectations and will let members know as much as we can about future updates and requests. Some of these things are way beyond our pay grade though and we simply will not be able to comment on certain things. Okay! End rant!
A little bit about us!
I'm typing right now - Rachael I've been with Backflip Studios for 2.5 years and was the first customer support rep EVAR. Some call me Mother of Dargons (yes the typo is intentional), some call me boss lady and our engineer wizard (Tehgood the Abrasive) calls me Friend (which is a really good thing....engineers are very important people to be friends with!). I will be sharing the job of responding to everyone with my incredibly awesome team - we are a very close knit group, kind of like a second family. I'm guessing y'all can relate When I'm not at the studio, I'm usually playing video games with my boyfriend (who I met here at BFS), teaching and/or practicing yoga, KNITTING, cooking or hanging out with the team.
Kyle joined in December of 2012 and was a crucial part of getting the team going. Because before that, there were just two of us and those were very busy days! Kyle is one of the nicest guys around - always willing to help and comes to the studio with a great attitude every day. HE'S THE BEST! When he's not here, he likes driving his awesome new jeep around the mountains, hanging out with his adorable Corgi's Eleanor and Megatron and painting miniatures. He's also an amazing artist.
Craig and Dan round out the team. They were both hired at the same time last September. It was an immediate "Love at first sight" thing with these two - they were FAST friends and me and Kyle were pretty smitten as well. Craig likes jumping out of airplanes in his free time, playing Starcraft, hanging with his lovely fiancé and rock climbing. He's been a gamer for most of his life and reddit's like no one else I've ever known. When Dan isn't in the office, he's most definitely outside. Unless Dark Souls II was just released....We lost him for most of March /: Dan is an expert rock climber and mountain biker - he spends his weekends in the summer in Moab or camping and his winters skiing and snowboarding.
Overall, we like to have fun with our peeps and you, my friends, are definitely our peeps. We hope you enjoy our personalities and senses of humor. We'll do our best to sign each post with who is typing as we're all sharing this account.

We have been contacted by BFS asking if we would be interested in having them communicate here. They appreciate that forum members offer valuable input in the form of new ideas, accolades, and criticism and they are interested in participating in the dialogue. We think that it's an excellent idea and have invited them to join us.
I'm delighted that our little forum is being taken seriously by BFS and that they are willing to take the time to chat with us. I ask that we follow the same ground rules with BFS representatives as we do with everyone else here - no personal attacks and extend our spirit of Aloha.

I am so upset by GregDarcy's latest infraction and the lack of disciplinary action against him, that I don't even know what words to use to express my deep outrage. Once again, he has slandered me and tried to paint himself as the good guy. It is good that anyone can tell by looking at us, who the real culprit is. A baby spring seasonal is too sweet to be the problem, but a dragon that has been so careless in his attempts to harm others that he turned himself into a pile of bones would definitely be expected to continue to try to harm others. GregDarcy still has not apologized for his last infraction, which was the source for many of the entries in this thread. Now he has tampered with those. Having figured out his evil character long ago, I planted a spy in his park for such a time as this.
I give you fair warning GregDarcy. If you do not fix what you have done and apologize to all those you have wronged, your park will suffer. I will start with the paths. Then, if you still refuse to restore things on the forum, other things will be removed from your park. If nothing changes, you will soon have a dragonless park. I know that you will try to find my spy, but it will never happen. Therefore, I suggest you put things back to rights and save yourself some heartache. I have tried to be patient with you, but enough is enough.
By the way, Buffy, I can't believe you would encourage him by nominating his outrageous behavior for POTM. How could you?
