Everyone - I’m GrandpaKenny.  I just came over from another (dying) DV site, followed Dreamn, Lynn Marie & Kaleen...what great friends...

Been doin’ DV so long I can’t remember...2012?...a great game...introduced to DV by my grandson.

Many of the moves over the last few years by BFS have left me less enthused about the game...forcing ‘friends’ via Facebook (I don’t have a FB account...I like my privacy)...I used to spend real $$$ on DV up until they put out the Rift and now I sorta see a not so subtle effort to make us spend even more $$$.  My own personal challenge is to stay ‘burnin’ (have all the Dragons) and not spend ANY $$$...so far, so good.

This looks like a really great site and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone.

grandpakenny tagging is similar to putting a friend's name in the subject box to get them to notice your comment. To tag someone, tap the reply button to a comment. At the top of the comment box are several options. Tap the "@ " with the little man next to it. A box will open asking for the user name. The user name may be different than what shows (the display name). For example, my user name is dreamin but my display name is Dreamn.

I refuse to have an FB account. A few years ago when Zuckerberg announced he was going to create an account for everyone on the planet whether you wanted it or not, I personally wrote to him and a couple of days later he announced he changed his mind. You’re welcome!

Never liked the idea of FB. I want to keep my privacy...your business is YOUR business, my business is MY business. If something happens in my life that I wish to share with someone close to me, I’ll call them on the phone and vise versa for gosh sakes. Pictures? Attach ‘em to an email...

Wish BFS would implement ‘in game’ Friends and not require FB. Fortunately, I have enough good DV Friends from Game Center that I don’t need FB for that.

Hi everyone, I’m Sandy from Idaho and lurked around on the dying forum GPK, DREAMN, LYNNEMARIE and all were on. They should know I’m stalking them again! 👀

Like GPK, I’ve been playing DV since my grandson introduced me to it in 2012 or so and it’s very addictive! Great for old retired folks!

Grandson and I are very close; he’s my rock! He was 2 1/2 when our daughter passed away suddenly (hence, the butterfly avatar) and he became my reason to be strong and carry on! Of course our dogs were also our reason to get up each morning as walking and feeding had to continue. My husband was nicknamed Tuffy by his grandma when he was a baby and Tuffy++ is my GCID. Imagine his consternation as a Marine in Vietnam when packages came from grandma addressed to Sgt Tuffy!

I do not Facebook and still have a landline along with cell.

I’m sure I won’t post a lot but will visit and glean all I can from you in the know! And I hope I’m Posting this correctly!

Hi Sandy!! I’m so glad you made it over!! 😊 lurking is great 😉 but do be sure to post once in a while. The lovely people in this vale are absolutely amazingly wonderful!!
I hope you are all doing well, pups included. I still haven’t gotten a Facebook as well. I tried to open a fakebook account a couple of weeks ago, to connect with new friends here, but just couldn’t do it! Gonna have to wait for BFS to have in game friending.

Welcome aboard, Sandy! Seems like many of us here started playing due to a child or grandchild. The kiddies stop playing and we get addicted! How does that happen?

It broke my heart reading about the loss of your daughter. No parent should ever have to bury their child. 

Happy to have another sans Facebook player amongst us. Hopefully BFS will see reason and create an in-game friending mechanism sooner rather than later. And no worries, you did it right.

the dragonbreed app from the next flow (App Store) is a good one to scroll through for egg identification

Lenafrog here..im 46 yrs old i live in iowa u.s.a..married for 27 years...i am a anime freak..i love to watch anime all the time...dragonvale daily player..my daughter is turning 16 in august...I'm also studying to get my high school diploma.. I passed 3 out of 5 of the needed test....so yea that me...happy to be a player and member of dragonvale 😎😎

Welcome aboard, lenafrog! Good on ya for tackling the GED later in life, great example for your daughter! My 26 year old girl also loves anime and prefers to watch them in the original Japanese. What’s funny is she always hid the fact she liked anime thinking friends/coworkers would judge her only to find out the friends/coworkers also liked anime and were keeping it secret thinking everyone would judge them. Strange phenomenon!

I’ve only just registered as a member on this forum, but have been reading as a guest for over a year now. Your posts have been a great help for me thus far. Thank you!
I’m at 423 days of consecutive playing and quite possibly addicted to Dragonvale.
Downloaded the game on the birthday party of the 8-year old son of a friend because the birthday boy was really excited about dragons and wanted to show everybody how the game worked. I think he stopped playing a week later, but I was hooked .

I'm 30 years old; Belgian, but living in the Netherlands. Married for almost 2 years now.

I hope to make some friends to co-op breed with (twins guaranteed days will start being a lot more fun).
I also have a few gems left to exchange. (I currently only have 2 friends that play occasionally.)
My park is connected to my real life Facebook account, so I'm not very comfortable just posting the ID here, but don't mind sharing it via pm.

By the way.. I've recently started an attempt at redecorating my park. Which has only resulted in complete chaos..
So I'm now telling myself that completing my collection and earning coins to buy more islands is more important than having everything neatly organized... please feel free to support me in keeping that small OCD-part of me fooled

Happy you decided to end “lurk mode” and join us! 

Oh yes, the decorating conundrum, we all know it well. Love the rationalization and it is VERY IMPORTANT to have enough Islands to move Decorations and Habitats around to find just the right fit!   I myself have been wanting to totally redo my Park but each time I’m about to start BFS gives us more Islands which completely throws off THE PLAN and I have to do a total redesign. I’ll get there eventually. 

We do have a thread called Dragonvale Park Tours where members post screen shots of their creations. Here is an example of Buffy’s decorating - Buffy’s Moon/Sun Islands. She always does a fabulous job! Hope you can find some inspiration there.

Hello everyone.

A few years ago one of my children wanted to spend lots of money to buy gems for Dragonvale. She did not know how to get any or breed any dragons. Trying to help her and understand the game, well...... I got hooked.

This was when the game had less than like 190 Dragons or something like that. I managed to get a high count of dragons, but iPad broke and I stoped playing.

Days ago that same child now much older told me she was playing Dragonvale again. I downloaded it to my new device and to my surprise I had everything I had done, but there is a whole lot more now. Too much to do, and many changes.

Since I downloaded the game I have been active player, always getting my money and my gems, even when I wake up in the middle of the night, I do a quick check.

I used to have a Facebook, but it was too depressing and people argued too much or spammed the feed. So I deleted my Facebook. Come to find out, I need by obligation a Facebook account to have friends in this game, so I recently made one for games like this.

I have browsed the forum a little, and it will take me a while to get accustom to Dragonvale language and the way it is set up. I only found the "introduce yourself" thread after looking in the "new post" icon.

I am a Father of four and been married 22 years. God willing I will be married til death do us part.
