Members may have noticed a recent increase in the number of guests viewing the forum, posting on the Rate a Dragon threads, and new members joining. The DragonVale Discord server is in the process of developing a method for their players to rate the new event dragons. Until they have the system in place, I have invited the Discord players to post their feedback on the Rate a Dragon threads.
The DV Discord community is a remarkable group of players who are very active, extremely talented, and dedicated to improving and growing the game. So please give them a warm greeting and hearty welcome!
If any new guests or members from Discord or elsewhere have questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are a friendly and unique group of DV players from all over the globe. Many forum members are long-time players, so we’ve accumulated an abundance of odd knowledge about dragons and the details of DV, which only other players will appreciate. We have a diverse population ranging from 18 to 80 year olds, but the one thing we all have in common is our obsession with DragonVale.
Please introduce yourself or give a quick hello in this thread, and feel free to mingle with your fellow Valers on the forum. We are all one community under DragonVale. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Welcome to the forum Discord Players. It is always nice to meet new people. Please make yourself at home and if you do have any questions, please don’t be too shy to ask them. We are a friendly bunch and happy to help. 😀🐨

Welcome Discord people! 😊
The DV Discord server is a really fun place to hang out! I hope you like it here. It’s a really different format but I like the people on the forum everyone is really nice and helpful. I also like that there are newbies and veteran players and some people are in high school while others are in their 30s and others are retired. It makes it a really interesting place that I can’t find with other games I play. I think that’s what makes DV different from other games too there’s a really wide player base, and the forum represents that extremely well. Hopefully you’ll find it interest and helpful too. 🥰
Hello everyone! This forum seems like such a great place to be. I am from the Discord and actually was the one to suggest bringing the Rate a Dragon concept to the server. I am excited to be here, and I am excited to meet new people!

Hello, OboeKade! Yes, I saw your conversation on Discord. You were absolutely the one who sparked the dragon rating discussion for Discord, which lead to Discord players posting on the Rate a Dragon threads. I’m so pleased you made it to the forum!
When I was in primary school, I played the clarinet but always preferred the sound of the oboe. So I hope to grow up and be like you one day! 😃
Welcome and thank you for joining us, OboeKade! (insert oboe emoji that hasn’t been invented yet, despite it being 2021)

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I am so pleased to be here!
(Also, it's so weird that there's not an oboe emoji yet! That's something that should be a top priority! )

Hi everyone. I am a returning player. I gave up 5 years ago and now I’m trying again. I am 64 years old and happily married to Errol for the last 20 years. We also live with my 90-year-old Aunt, who has dementia. Also living in this small house are Bella and Boots both female cats.

Hi siledvw welcome back to the Forum and playing DragonVale. There have been a lot of changes while you've been away - both in the Forum and the game.
Please ask if you have any questions in regard to your game. There is no question too big or too small - someone is always ready to help out.

Howdy-do! My name is John, aged 67 years. I am newly retired after spending 42 years as a classically trained violinist in the symphony orchestra business. Some of my colleagues call me ObiJuan, hence the sign-in name. My Covid quarantine project was recovering from three major surgeries - four discs renovated in my neck with titanium and both knees totally replaced. Told my wife to skip the funeral home and put me out at the curb for recycling upon death. Married to the same woman (also a violinist) for 43 years. One daughter, who begged me to begin playing DragonVale in 2014 so I could send her gems. After starting slowly and taking a year off at one point I am playing at Level 165 and maintain a large park. My favorite part of the game is decorating the islands. There is no right or wrong way to go about it and most of the buildings and decorations are really attractive. My least favorite part is breeding, especially when the odds of success are sometimes so unfavorable. Gameplay feels harder now than in the early days given the relentless pace of events and with so many dragons now in the game. But I’m addicted. DV is still fun and rewarding. My daughter and I still send daily gems to each other. It’s the only game I play. I helped my DV gameplay by acquiring (cough, cough) 27 gemstone habitats which are scattered around my park. In the early days of DV, gemstone habitats cost 150 gems each and it made economic sense to buy them. Now I use DV Wishes after hyperinflation was added to the game and gemstone habitats became prohibitively expensive. I could not duplicate my gem income if I started a new park today; the game has changed too much. The DragonVale Community Forum is a nice place to hang out. I have been lurking for a while and it is nice to come out of the shadows. Cheers!

Welcome aboard, ObiJuan!
I hope you find yourself at home. It’s always exciting to have new voices on the Forum. And we have quite a few musicians with diverse backgrounds. It makes sense we have a new Melody element. 🎵 Maybe we need to start a DV Band!
I love the use of wishes for Gemstone Habitats. It’s a strategy used by many Forum members too, since the price escalates (Backflip caught that slip-up!). Long-term players don’t have a lot to wish for so Gemstone Habitats is a clever solution.
I’ve run out of space for habitats. Unless we have many islands added, I won’t be purchasing or wishing for any more. Similar to you, I love the decorating aspect of the game, so I tend to focus on the plants and decorations — then try to squeeze in a couple habitats.
Thank you so much for introducing yourself, and I look forward to chatting with you soon!

Thanks for the messages of welcome. I am always amazed at the amount of accumulated DragonVale information that is contained in this forum. It adds a lot to the enjoyment of a game that is vast and complex.

Figured I'd come here and say a quick "HI!" Finally decided to join so I could add my two cents re the new dragons. Looks like you've got quite a nice forum here. I"ll have to take a look around. Thanks for the warm welcome and (very) kind words in the feedback thread.
I've been playing DV since Dec '19. I'd spent a bunch of time recording my kids DVW parks for posterity and just decided to download DV in case it was removed from the app store 'just because', even though I knew it was probably not long for this world. I just knew if I started playing, I'd wind up addicted. Little did I know how much.
