Hi everyone I was a committed DragonVale player several years ago, and was active on the forum as well. After some significant life changes, I’ve just come back to it. My how things have changed. In the game for sure, and I’ve just discovered the sad news of Fletch’s passing. My condolences to all of his family and many friends. And my profound gratitude to adlerist for doing such wonderful work on the forum! It remains delightful, inspiring, and oftentimes hilarious, and I am so excited to be a part of it again

We are absolutely thrilled that you have returned to the Vale and the Forum!
Fletch's passing in late January was a huge shock to our community. On April 6th, the DV Community Forum celebrated its 11th anniversary. And Deca Games memorialised Fletch and supported Leslie, his wife, by adding their names to the description of a new dragon, released on April 6th.
Times have changed, indeed. But DragonVale is still here, keeping it all together and keeping us all together. If you have any questions about new features in DV or the Forum, please do not hesitate to ask.

DECA has added many dragons. They release content at a faster pace than BFS. It might seem like a lot to catch up, but it does go pretty fast. We also have a Cooperative Requests thread if you need help cloning expired dragons.

(Just wanna throw in a little story after I friended you. So I went to go and see what your park looks like. I get stuck on the tiniest segment of green in the loading bar for about five minutes and then my phone crashes on me. Seeing as you're the max level, I can definitely see why my phone struggled)

My park is large and has a lot of animated decos, so it crashes a lot of devices. Even my iPhone 14 Pro struggles. I keep the park in Low Resolution Mode on the phone so the park will load. But I rarely use the phone to play DV. The iPad Pro is much faster, and I don’t need to mess with low res.

It's always amazing to see players return to the game! Having a nice break from DV is needed at times and it gives you a fresh start!

I’ve only just registered as a member on this forum, but have been reading as a guest for over a year now. Your posts have been a great help for me thus far. Thank you! I’m at 423 days of consecutive playing and quite possibly addicted to Dragonvale. Downloaded the game on the birthday party of the 8-year old son of a friend because the birthday boy was really excited about dragons and wanted to show everybody how the game worked. I think he stopped playing a week later, but I was hooked .
I'm 30 years old; Belgian, but living in the Netherlands. Married for almost 2 years now.
I hope to make some friends to co-op breed with (twins guaranteed days will start being a lot more fun). I also have a few gems left to exchange. (I currently only have 2 friends that play occasionally.) My park is connected to my real life Facebook account, so I'm not very comfortable just posting the ID here, but don't mind sharing it via pm.
By the way.. I've recently started an attempt at redecorating my park. Which has only resulted in complete chaos.. So I'm now telling myself that completing my collection and earning coins to buy more islands is more important than having everything neatly organized... please feel free to support me in keeping that small OCD-part of me fooled
Well... it's been a while since the first time I introduced myself. I must have been a daily player from 2017 up untill around April 2022. Stopped playing regularly around that time because of being to busy and moving. (But to be honest, the speed of introduction of ever more new dragons was getting to me and I never really figured out the whole Soul Shard thing which was demotivating.) Really went cold turkey from there.
Randomly decided to open the game again last weekend just to have a look around. Turned out to be a Twin Weekend.. and low and behold, here I am finding myself opening the game multiple times a day again.
Not really sure if I'm back for the long run, but boy does that goal of Blue Fire still sound absolutely amazing to reach one day. Only now I have about 127 to go untill red first though
I'm happy to see this forum is still thriving. At the same time sad to hear about Fletch's passing. My belated condolences to family and friends.

It’s so good to hear from you and that you’ve picked up the game again! 127 dragons for red fire isn’t that much, obtaining the missing ones happens pretty quickly. 😊
The Soul Shards are for Dragon Draw. Dragon Draw is a lottery, you contribute the Shards you’ve obtained (while collecting DC from habitats) to a dragon you want, and you have a chance of winning it. There's a Dragon Draw thread if you have any questions to post. Dragon Draw doesn’t really fit DV, and some players ignore or forget about it. I haven’t opened Dragon Draw since it was released lol.

Yes, definitely was to busy for a while with searching for a new place, moving, having some construction work done on the house, etc, etc. Very happy to get such a warm welcome here.
I'll follow Samiam's lead with regards to Dragon Draw and just ignore it. The Summoning Circle is a nice decoration. For now I'm just having some fun.. if I do decide to try for completion again, I might ask for help to blue heart some of the ones I miss so I can try to clone a few.
