Thanks Demonioazul (what's your name?) My son is a Taurus so I certainly have come to understand stubbornness! ( no offense!) the earth, wood etc element comes from the Chinese year that you were born - I was born in 1964 so that was a Chinese wood year. So you're probably not an earth dragon if you were referring to the fact that Taurus is an earth sign in western astrology!
Btw what nationality are you and where are you living - if I may ask?
My name is Ignacio. I don't usually give it out not because of distrust, but because english speaking people usually have a hard time pronouncing it. You can call me Nacho as well, which is my nickname. Yes, you are correct, I guessed the element was given by my western sign so I really don't know what kind of dragon I am. I was born in 1976. I was born in Uruguay but have lived almost all my life in Mexico. Cheers.
Ignacio you are a fire dragon! My info says: all fiery breath and little substance. This dragon is a poseur: claims to be wise, but underneath it's all hot air! LOL!!
But the Taurus adds some backbone to the showy dragon, who in return livens up the staid Taurus. You have an inventive brain and are what might be termed an intellectual with very strong opinions and a forceful way of exploring your world.
But having said that all Dragons are awesome people because unlike the other animal signs we are mythical! Dragons are there for other mortals to worship and admire!! LOL! No wonder we love DV!!

Hey all. I've been hanging back here because I don't much like talking about myself (too old, too many stories, haha!) But it's pretty unfair for me to read all your stories and not share one or two of mine.
I have three kids; my oldest son was born when I was 18, and given up for adoption. He's now 41, 42 in just a couple of months (ok, you can do the math, haha!) We found each other in 2001 and met in person the first time in 2002 (yes first, as I never saw him when he was born). He's a wonderful man, married to a beautiful and loving wife. Our "story" turned out to be the best it could have been as we've developed a sweet and loving relationship - the only downside being we live on opposite coasts (them in CA, me in MA!) so we don't see each other nearly as much as we'd like.
My other two are my daughter, nearly 24 and my son 18. She's just finishing college and he's graduating from high school - both in the same week in June :-) {Warning: bragging coming!} They are both amazing kids. My daughter spent a month last summer at the end of a semester abroad volunteering as a teacher at a boarding school outside of Bangalore, India, called Shanti Bhavan (very wonderful place, check it out: http://shantibhavanonline.org) and loved the kids and the experience so much she went back in January and February over her winter term to teach again. My son is finishing what will be his 7th year at a boarding school in the Northwest of India, outside of Amritsar, as one of the student leaders of the school, great basketball player, and all-around inspiration. OK, OK, I'll stop now :-)
I work at a non-profit organization that investigates, documents, and advocates against human rights violations around the world. I'm a web editor and graphic designer there, and I love it. It's a really great place to work and the organization, 25 years old this year, does amazing work. My hubs of over 35 years is a general manager for a chain of urban clothing and shoe stores here in New England. He loves his work too, but his boss (the owner) not so much, unfortunately. But he soldiers on.
Well, there's probably a lot more, and if you have questions, I'm most willing to answer them. Just don't know what to bore you with at this point! Except of course I'm a DV addict like the rest of you, too (thanks to dear daughter!)

Thank you for sharing your great story, Gurukarm. And by the way, we all have diplomatic immunity regarding bragging when it comes to talking about our kids or grandkids.

Great story.. And please feel free to brag away...
Guru, my wife and I finally wrote a letter to our 17-yo daughter and sent it a couple weeks ago. Praying that our story turns out like yours. In 4 months, she will have a brother. Crazy world.
Okay, nearly 46, I live in Adelaide with my 2 boys 20 and 15 years old, my partner and my dog who is my treasure. In my previous life I was a lawyer and now work as a Compliance Manager for ARTC in Adelaide and manage 5500km of rail track across Australia. In 5 weeks I will be the General manager of MACSSGroup and safety consulting firm. I am currently addicted to dragon vale and have also now got my partner addicted, I am 1/4 of the way through an 18400 piece jigsaw puzzle which I anticipate will take me another 5-6 years to complete. I am a control freak and the older I get the more prominent OCD appears to be settling into my life..... Life is good, my boys are amazing people, my partner very supportive and my dog simply gorgeous...what more could I ask for? ;D

Thanks promotion is with a new company, yes saw unstoppable, unbelievable how close to the truth some of that was!!!, and no....lI actually share very little with my colleagues... its a socially inept thing most people don't suffer fools we'll given my previous employment as a lawyer I became very cynical and don't do people so well.....
makes for interesting days at work

I agree. Especially about the agreeing to disagree!! I think ppl tend to argue over the smallest of things that really arent worth arguing about. Once you realise, marriage can be so much easier
2nd that... Thankfully I married a guy that is easy going. And very agreeable... What ever u want biscuit, are my favorite 5 words!!!!
Lol! My hubby is impatient and indecisive... Not the best 2 qualities to find in a guy but we manage. I just have to take the high road and stay calm

This is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I was also given up for adoption. I found my mom when I was 25 and we have a wonderful relationship now. I also live on the east coast south Florida and my mom lives in Washington state close to the west coast. Were almost as far as we could get from each other in the continental US since I moved away from there. We have grown to love skype! lol

I hope and pray your story will turn out wonderful Tommy. Hang in there my friend.
I know the name well lol it's ugly Bettys fathers name too lol I love ugly Betty x x x
You know, for a moment I read "I know the name well, it's ugly..." then I continue reading! :lol Ugly Betty is a colombian show, isn't it? I really don't watch TV so I don't know for sure, but hey, good thing you know it!
lmao I get how that could have been misread on the first line ,I would never call it ugly lol I think it's a lovely name I find myself repeating it when it's said on ugly Betty as I like how it sounds kind of fiery lol x x x
Ok so I have been reading now since this started and you guys have some wonderful stories ,lives and marriages also some heartbreaking stories .you have brought tears , made me laugh and left me in complete awe ......to those who have lost children I send you love and hugs as that must be the most awful thing a parent can go through !!! my grandfather was so sad at the fact his two biological children died before he did the third child was my mum ,who he adopted at the age of nine as he lived on the same street as her family ,her mum was a drunk and she spent most of her time at my nana and granddads house anyway so when her mum kicked her out at 9 she went to live with my nana and grandad and never left ! Ignacio it's so heartwarming to hear you reconnected with your son after all that time and things are going so well ,and tommy I pray for the same for your family x x x
so I believe it's my turn ....... Ok my name is vicky im now 29 , 30 in july ,I was born and raised in Liverpool ,in the uk ,i had a pretty basic childhood with strict parents I lived with my mum and dad until I was eight when they split and I didn't want to choose who to live with ( yes they asked an 8 yr old child to choose a parent!!!) well I chose my grandad who was the kindest most caring ,loving person I knew ....and i lived with him until I was 12 when i moved back woth my mum but returned at 16 when I got my first job ,I did a lot of rebelling in my teen years which I regretted deeply ,but I straightened out in the end ! I moved out into a rented flat when I was 18 with Colin who I met at 17 through friends!as I lived around the corner from my grandad i could still help and looked after him by cooking cleaning and errands until he got ill in dec 2006 with a cancerous tumour blocking his bile duct and sadly died in jan 2007 i was heartbroken as he was my WORLD ,it was a dark time for me I stopped going out ,seeing friends, working i virtually became a hermit ! Within that time i had my first son brendan at age 19 and he helped a lot I've always said he was my light in a dark place !!! In that flat it was cramped as it was only a one bedroomed place but we were finally moved to a house (by the local council) everyone said new house new baby , i said nah no more for me (as brendan was 8 and we were happy with our little unit plus generally we couldn't afford more kids , and as he has tons of cousins to play with brendan didnt miss having a brother or sister ) but low and behold within the first month of moving in ,i was pregnant lol ,and we had samuel named after my grandfather we have struggled with money issues forever lol ,but we are rich in life and that's what matters me and my hubby have nothing but each other and our children but we are happy ,we strive to give our children all the things we never had and that they want ,and deserve ,I still am a borderline agoraphobic only leaving the house if someone is with me which is why I'm a stay at home mum my hubby works his arse off trying to provide , but no matter how many hours he works ( and believe me it's a lot ) it's never enough . we are always in debt and I feel so guilty that I should just get over my issues and go get a job but I still can't seem to do it I feel I have no value in a workplace as its been so many years since I've done anything like that I wouldn't know how !!!maybe I should be a cleaner lol I'm good at that .sorry if I have babbled I do that a lot and these are the reasons I have taken so long to respond as my story is pretty dull compared to some of you guys lol , but hey that's me Thanks for reading and sorry if I bored you ,also a massive thanks for sharing all your stories too !!!!
Vicky x x x
