LAST CALL FOR RAGNAROK

My arctic finished. Since I got a gamma on my island earlier that still has 14:30 to go, I decided to spend 6 gems to speed up my oly in the cave to fill up my nursery. The oly turned out to be yet another soly*. I hit retry and got... a snowy. This competition is going nowhere and very slowly at that.

*I already have 18 boly and 15 soly but only 2 goly and an egg. Since I already have 50 olympus type dragons, I guess I can sell this one. I think I have already sold a few others.

Welcome to the 28 hour club. I hope not to join you in the bottleneck club any time soon, although I'm sure I will at some point. That is quite a variety in your bottleneck. Koala clearing it out.

Weird, I don't remember seeing this post before I quoted your other one.

I spent a lot of gems during the candy event in my :Ceme: park, the one I am in this/Ragnarok comp. I ended up with 500 less gems in this park than the other. So, trying not to do any speed ups in this comp. I don't have so many Olympus types. I did get a lot of bones and ghost dragons during this comp...15 each.

My general rule is that I don't spend gems on anything that is not limited. If it is limited, I try to keep my nursery full and my breeding spots going. I have found that this allows me to build up a gem stash so that I have the gems to do speed breeding at the end if I still need a limited. Since I am doubling up ragnarok & bicentennial, I am spending gems in my cave. Of course, since I expect berry to leave first, I give preference to my island berry breedings, but I have been getting lots of long fails there. I generally don't speed things up unless it is 9 gems or less.

I only ended up with 3 ghost eggs while it was available. I have my collection of ghost and reindeer eggs lining the paths on my cold island, so I don't mind getting more ghost eggs. I did get lots of bone eggs, although you still beat me by 1 because I only got 14.

I spent 4 gems to speed up my snowy (a snowyB) and got a 19:12 timer. It is either my third epic in a row (autumn) or everyone's "favorite" fail (crystal).

I have a beautiful nursery at the moment...the only problem is that only one of those dragons was actually needed. In other news, I did break my epic streak getting a 6:24 timer this morning.

I thought I got it last night until I double checked and saw Ragnarok is 31 hours not 38! Darn! Hopefully it's Moon, since I don't have that one yet.

I've been there so many times. That feeling of joy and success, followed by the reality of defeat. I guess that is why the old TV show "Wide World of Sports" had the slogan "The thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat." It sure fits this game. I hope it is your missing Moon dragon.

I also renewed my membership a few minutes ago. I am not in the bicentennial comp because of nightmare, but I am still a potential winner in the berry comp, so we are in a couple clubs together. It is good to find someone with whom I share so many interests.

What, like three 28s in a row? Fortunately, I just got my first Berry, so I can shift to hunting Bicycle on the island and Raggie in the cave now.

I'm not back in the 28 hour club, but I am back in the oly club. I got another snow oly. I have made over 100 attempts without even a whiff of a ragnarok in my park... I know it isn't because they hate the smell of berries because I don't have any of those either.

My dragons all seem quite content with the food they are given, as you would know if you could visit my park. However, I will not remove my security measures preventing your access since that would be extremely foolhardy and might result in the consumption of some of my contended dragons.

Just tried again and got a nice, long, not-48-hour time... then realized of course 38h24 is Sun/Moon/Rainbow time. Maybe I should feed one of these two up another level. Leathery is at 15 while Miasma is 17.

Epic wise, I'm at 4 Rainbow, 2 DR and 3 Soly so far....

Since both of my dragons are level 17, I say only level up if you want. My 100+ attempts say it really doesn't matter. Pixie's thousands of tests say it even better. I know BFS says it makes a difference, but the difference must be so small that it doesn't warrant the extra treats unless you wanted to level a dragon up anyway.


By the way, GregDarcy, just because I don't fatten my dragons up with treats doesn't mean I don't feed them. Don't you know it is not good to simply feed animals treats? You need to feed them real food with the right nutrients too. My dragons get plenty of real food, and a sufficient supply of treats. I know you make your dragons live on just treats to fatten them up quickly for eating, but the rest of us prefer healthy, happy dragons.

I have a theory that probably has no basis for reality, but if I'm not getting a dragon after numerous tries then I level one dragon up or change it's name (unless it's a contest winning name). In the back of my mind I think that the breeding grounds think I changed combos and it usually gives me one in the next few tries and if it doesn't I switch breeding grounds for one round and then go back. According to the randomness of breeding there is no basis for this but in my mind I think it works---
